"Of course," Asali cooed, reaching out a paw to encircle them as she shifted her body closer. She tried to think of one, soft but not something that would upset them or rile them up. In her travels she had heard of a few sung near the ocean, given rhythms that replicated the patterns of the waves. Closing her eyes with her head lifted up toward the clouds she began to hum from her memory. The song was fragmented but soothing and she felt herself relaxing, almost forgetting where she was.
Nadhir's eyes began to grow heavy as his mother hummed, effectively silencing his desire to scramble around and play. He had already been tired, but he felt himself slipping into sleep. With his sister next to him and his mother's paw so close he felt safe. After a few moments he began to yawn, his small frame quaking as he settled in against the ground.

Mel sighed contently, feeling the warmth of her brother’s body on one side and the large paw of her mother that embraced her softly on the other. She closed her eyes slowly, knowing that she wasn’t drowsy enough to actually fall asleep but she felt happier than words could possibly express. Silently, she desperatly tried to commit this moment to memory. Nadhir’s breath, their mother’s gentle humming, the sound of the birds and the rustling of leaves, the warmth. The young cub smiled, knowing she would remember this day as one of her favorite cubhood memories for as long as she lived.- FIN! -
