Caves and dark places were as familiar to Leaves-in-Twilight as a patch of sunlight. He hesitated at the fork in the path not from any sense of fear, but to wait and see whether anyone or anything would choose to guide his hooves this time. And while the sound of the water-that-might-not-be held a certain appeal, that hiss would make it hard to hear if someone offered. Better the silence where even the smallest whisper would become clear. He headed down the path that disappeared to the right.

Wisp of the Imagination (lovely made up Kimeti) crept up to the mouth of the dark, hallow cave. She had watched it for a while, the others creeping in, much braver than she but never coming out. Taking in a deep breath she made her way in.
She stuck low to the ground, slinking down the corridor, her eyes darting every which way. Suddenly, as if the ground fell before her she was met with a fork. To the left she could hear the welcoming sound of running water, it's rolling echoing through the cavern. To the right, silence.
She pondered this predicament hard for a moment. "The welcoming sound of water or the eerie silence of darkness?" she thought loudly, her voice echoing. While the left seemed to be the most promising, if water runs, it must run out. She turned and headed down the right path.
It was known to her in Caves, to never take the route that appears easiest. Easy is usually an illusion. As she headed down the right path, her heart sank as she regretted her choice. Her only friend in the silence, the voices echoing in her head.

Always Running had never been to this part of the swamp before and it was now calling to him. It was calling to him in a way most things hadn't before. New and exciting things were always catching his eyes, and in that this was no different, but before there had never really been that overwhelming need. Well- There had once. Well- Two times, but this was completely different. Those had been about survival and this was about exploration! Smiling that half-smile he'd been told was slightly infuriating he took one step and then two into the maze and took a deep breath. "On wards and out wards!" And then he was running, running towards the inviting call of the sea.

Laughing Shadows had been wandering around for quite some time trying to locate the sound of the echo that she could hear. Something warned her away from it, but her curiosity drove her closer. Were the Shadows finally speaking to her? Or was there a Kimeti hiding that she could befriend? Whatever it was, it lead her closer to the fog-hidden entrance of the cave and she blindly entered it before realizing she could hardly see in front of her, so if anything bad were hidden within, she could easily be attacked or get hurt.
This thought almost made Laughing Shadows leave the cave, but the sound of the musical echos once again caught her ears and she stepped forward once more. Now with two choices to choose between, the young doe stuck her head down each one listening carefully to the sounds she could hear. The whisperings of the ocean down one, and complete silence down the other. Being worried the Shadows might be playing tricks on her, she nodded to herself and carefully stepped onto the path to the right. With no other sound within that part of the cave, surely the doe could hear anything before it had a chance to sneak up on her. And so with her head held high and her heart beating thunderously in her chest, Laughing Shadows crept forward unsure of what she might find.

After having decided to take an exploratory trip outside of her usual sprawl of territory, Breakaway happened upon what seemed to be some sort of maze-like area from which an intriguing whisper of a kimeti's voice had been drawing her forward. The path before her splits in two directions, and she stands, her head cocked to one side, listening and trying to decide which way to go. She can't see very far in front of her, and the lack of vision makes her slightly nervous to continue on, but the mystery is too great to pass up-- and besides, she's never been one to shy away from potential danger. After a moment, she decides finally to take the path on the left. The haunting sound gives her a shiver, and she decides that the sound of the ocean seems more appealing.

Mist twined, parted, collapsed in on itself before his eyes, a phenomenon that Unripened Heart found intriguing, but ultimately distracting to his task. The area before him was cold and dank, very unlike the dunes of tawny sand to which he had been born, yet possessing its own unique signature, a playful danger that whispered along the edges and set it apart. He had yet to determine how he'd arrived at this place, chasing the murmuring promise of some voice that existed beyond the wispy tangle of his surroundings. His last memory before the whiteness had set in was of towering trees, their canopy blocking out the sun, dewy leaf litter wetting his fetlock as he strolled without apparent aim. How this haze had swept in so effortlessly and suddenly, he could not say, any annoyance he may have felt abated by self-decree. It was not important how it had come to pass, only that he navigated to a more visible location. If not for the obscurity that existed both forward and back the way he'd come, the buck might have dismissed the impending chase, but locating this female tormentor in the distance seemed related to finding an exit.
The twin openings to the labyrinth rose up as if from a dream, standing silent and unimpressed by his appearance, their shapes ebbing and drifting in the unpredictable weather. The disembodied voice seemed to come from both of them at once, giving him no hint to follow in that regard. Heart deliberated at the entranceways, white-brown snout wrinkled with distaste at his options. When he finally moved, it was toward the right, the halting silence suiting him better than the muted conch shell-like roar on the other side.

She Steps Lightly blended in with the mist surrounding her to the point she felt invisible... though she wished she could see better in the globby mess. The cool mist vapors danced over her pelt causing her to shivver from the feel and even sneeze from it, she didnt enjoy the feeling. She was uncomfortable here, not exactly being brash of nature she was pretty true to her name. Cautious and careful, she calculated her steps methodically. It was hard to calculate her movement though, not being able to see in this sea of white she wanted to back up....but knew better than to get lost going backwards.
She was lost.
Pressing on, her hooves gave the faintest trace of even touching the ground, minus the crackle of a leaf or branch now and then. After some time, she found herself nearly walking horns first intoa fork in the road. On one side, nothing... just darkness. The other? Breezy and what sounded like water. She wanted some sort of comfort, loving the sound the ocean made she chose to go to the left.

Skybled stood at the entrance to the maze, pondering. Did he really hear a voice? Yes -- there it was again. He froze, ears perked as he strove to listen again. Left? Right? Which way was it calling? But the voice was elusive, offering no assistance. He had two choices: to go right or to go left. Towards a soft hissing, or to silence. Skybled considered, then walked forward and began walking down the right path. The silence was quick to get on his nerves, prompting the buck to began stomping a broken clip-CLOP CLIP CLOP SNAP CRUNCH medley over whatever he happened to trod on.

Finding Water watched the others head into a cave. She didn't know why they went in, but curiosity got the best of her and she followed them in. As she stepped in, the rest of them had disappeared into a mist. The sounds of her hoofs were muffled by the mist and she wondered if she would see any of the others along the way. Her mind racing with the thoughts of her mongoose. The one true friend she had that stayed back at the opening.
She stood in front of the two paths, unsure of which to pick. Her legs started to move towards the right path, but it was too silent. Shaking her head, the doe cocked her to the left path. She heard the ocean and following her heart, Finding Water went along the left path. She felt better hearing the ocean, her mind was calmer with the water.

Autumns last Reprise flicked his ears, watching as the others went before him. It was not them though that entranced him, it was that voice that lured him on, sweet as fresh water, sweet as dew and honeysuckle... He chose the right branch, a whim, a fancy, a flight of interest when he thought, just perhaps he heard her more strongly from within.

Cat Walker stood, looking around at all of the others. He watched for a long moment, then closed his eyes. He took a slow, deep breath, trying to identify the scent of what was going on. He got no clear answers but finally he moved into the cave and looked at the paths.
Again, he took a deep breath, and while he didn't find any answers still, he did decide there was a more interesting scent in the mist, on the left. The ocean? He smelled the ocean. That was unexpected and intriguing.

Evening Hush had lingered in the back of the group, nervously taking small steps forward only when the path before her was less crowded. She wasn't certain why exactly she felt compelled to seek out the voice. It wasn't in her nature but it was a call she simply could not deny. Perhaps it was because it would not be denied?
She squinted into the fog, uncertainty weighing her limbs. She'd never been to the ocean before and she did not think it sounded pleasant. The echo was more comforting for her, haunting as it may be, most likely due to her brother's equally haunting mannerism. Steeling her nerves, she set for towards the right.

Mourning Cloak was lost. She had somehow stumbled across this maze trying to find a good place to call home. She looked around the entrance trying to find an exit. The only exits, though, were in two directions and they were both in front of her. She sighed loudly. Of course there was nothing behind her. She shifted slightly as more Kimeti came through and chose their paths. It was now or never for her. She closed her eyes and randomly chose a direction. Her body moved towards the left side of the path. Hopefully this was the best path for her to take.
