Having David back would be so awsome! But he did say that if he hadn't gotten out they would have been dragging him out so I'm not sure if David should come back. And how would they explain that?

I'm sure they could find a way to explain anything. I mean look at the Five Doctors movie. But I don't think he should come back.

Several possibilities:
We NEED a female Doctor - yes there's Romana and so on, but I think if the viewership of the show can stand something as canon-shattering as that, it should happen.
Callum Blue isn't a bad idea, but he's just too Tennant-y, in my opinion. He wouldn't have a distinct identity that is the hallmark of all the other Doctors.
This won't ever happen, because they've already used him, but I think Anthony Head should play the Doctor. (There could be a musical episode!)
Although having an attractive Doctor seems to be good for ratings, I don't think it should necessarily be the case for Twelve.

Also, just out of curiosity, is John Hart the only real American on the show? Some of the accents on "Dalek" were pretty convincing...

in all technicality The Doctor did have a daughter, way back when Martha Jones was his companion, so technically there is a female doctor out there.
is there a rule that a Time Lords gender can't be changed during the regeneration process?
anyway Johnny Depp has my vote for next Doctor

i loved david. i wish he would come back.
the only reason he became an actor was to play as the dr. in dr. who
he also starred in harry potter and how to train your dragon.
all because of when he was a little boy he wanted to be the doctor! D:
