Ligeia's eyes went wide as more of those ice spray balls appeared and he felt a shiver go through him as he looked at them. Six of them... it seemed like far to many to be able to hold back... and... his eyes lifted up when he saw the ice that was crackling in the air, gathering en mass and it was starting to fall... his eyes got wide. His teacher was nuts he suddenly realized. The man was going to blow him up to prove a point?
He took a step back when his back hit a wall and he seemed to realize that was surrounded on all side by ice... and that the exploding balls were at his feet... and the hail was coming down on him... and he froze. He had no idea what to do... A hiss of surprise escaped his lips as one of the pieces of hail struck him in the shoulder, waking him up from his frozen state. It hit him this time... next time one could hit those balls... if it hit them they would explode and make him into a pin cushion. He was already covered in little scrapes left behind by the ones he warded off with a shield.
It was official, his teacher was worse the Auloll he thought to himself as he gathered more power into his hands to tried to ward of the hail by tossing some of his shards at them, to keep them away from the balls to keep them from going off.

This wasn't going how he had hoped, the boy was still moving on the defensive. Though he had to applaud the ingenuity at using the ice shards to shoot the hail out of the sky.
"Enough." The teachers voice was deep and commanding. The room suddenly warmed up, it was like someone had decided to turn the area into a sauna. His own shield melting alongside the balls of ice on the floor, the older man shook his head and sighed.
"You show a lot of promise my boy, but if you don't learn to embrace all of your magic...then there is nothing left for me to teach you." He stated simply, he pointed his cane at Ligeia and then gestured for the boy to sit down.
"I can teach you a hundred spells that can protect yourself from harm, but if you are unwilling to show the slightest reserve in trying to stop the person from attacking you...eventually your shields will break or fail and then there will be no one to help you."
"I will tend to your wounds, now sit down."

The rush of heat was a shock to the owl who found it far more uncomfortable then he did all of the cold in the air. His wings gave a rapid flutter to ward off the heat before he look over at his teacher as the man pointed at him with his cane. He looked at him for a long moment before taking a half step back away from him, clearly not to terribly happy with the man nor to terribly trusting of him at the moment either. His heart was racing, his breathing was choppy, and he was just... on edge after being trapped in such a manner.
"I don't need any help, they are just scrapes." He said, not even looking at the little wounds, "Are we doing more? Or are we done?" He demanded of the man, wondering what he was planning next now that he'd heated the place up in such a manner, having melted all of the ice away in such a manner.

Zyane tapped his cane back to the ground, the temperature returning to a regular dungeon like temperature. A bit on the cool side but besides that not horrendously cold.
"Tell me Ligeia, what were you thinking while I was attacking you?" He inquired his blue eyes observing the young man. "Did you not trust I had the situation in control? Or are you just un-use to having someone attack you without being aggravated?" He asked his eyes not narrowed but studying the owl. It was true he wouldn't of thrown any of that at Geia if he didn't think the owl could of handled it. And if by some chance he had been wrong he could use any multitude of spells to stop the ones he had used.

The owl took a couple steps closer to Vorel, leaning into him before he took his bracelet off of him and put it back on, "It looked like you were trying to kill me... all for the sake of trying to make me do... something!" He said, starring down at his bracelet, "I don't understand what you want from me... one class your telling me to make snow balls and the next your trying to turn me into a pin cushion! Trapping me in there with a bunch of exploding things you had you had no control over after a point..."
He didn't like how angry he was feeling at the moment, it was a foreign and unwanted feeling, something he didn't like to feel because it made his stomach hurt. He lifted his hands up to wrap them around Vorel who responded by lowering his head to nuzzle against Ligeia while giving a rather dirty look to the teacher.

"It is true..I cannot control their direction. An explosion is an explosion after all. But it seems did seem to hit what I was aiming for. You are angry.
Now...are you are...angry with me? Perhaps..or more angry at yourself because you felt weak? Unable to protect yourself from any of my attacks?" The older man sighed and went to go sit down in his throne like chair. Closing his eyes a moment before he opened them looking the owl boy over.
"You are not one accustomed to being angry, that much is painfully obvious. You don't know how to strike at a person, you don't have it in you to even attempt. The entire time you ...well we'll call it defending, you defended yourself did it occur to you to stop me before I started the next spell?
There are cruel people in this world who wouldn't hesitate to kill a person. There are horrible people who use their magic to crush and obliterate opponents and rivals.
But the entire time...you never once tried to stop me. An evil person would use that weakness against you...and break you. You may think I am a horrible person right now..perhaps from now on, but it is the price I'll pay if this lesson enlightens you. " He continued before he looked older...tired and plain old.
"Now, tell me Ligeia. One of ice. Do you wish to learn? Magic can be used a multitude of ways, I am trying to prepare you and teach you all of the methods you can use it. The choice is ultimately yours."

Ligeia seemed to draw affection, warmth, and calm from his dragon before he looked over at his teacher for a long moment before he gave a snort, "Stop you...? Of course not! Your my teacher!" He was supposed to be someone he could trust... and he wasn't, was he? He couldn't trust his teacher? It wasn't something that he liked the sound of, "My father will catch his students when they fall... I suppose its my fault for thinking all teachers are like that. It seems none of the magic teachers here are."
He was frustrated with the entire situation, to be told he was supposed to stop his teacher?! As though he could... the man threw around spells, all of them rather horrible, as though it were nothing... then told his student that he should be stopping him?
"Maybe... its all wrong..." He murmured, he had been practicing magic for was long as he could remember and now he felt as though he were failing at it, "Perhaps... I your right, I am to weak... maybe I don't have it in me." If he couldn't fight and he couldn't cast what use was he to D-Corp? Barkhelm had told them once that they were soldiers... and he found himself to be a rather worthless soldier. He felt as though he were losing his way, it had been so simple before... just to call up a single shard of ice and throw it he thought to himself as he did just that. He called up a single shard into his hand and threw it at a random section of the wall.
"I don't know if I will ever be what anyone wants me to be." He wasn't a good son, didn't make a good boy, didn't seem to be able to attack, needed protected by those around him, was walked all over, teased. It was sad that all he wanted seemed at times to be a rather foolish pipe dream.
"I need to think... can I come back tomorrow?" He sounded rather tired himself, more so then a teenager should but then again Ligeia over thought everything, he acted far older then he was, took care of everything and everyone before himself, "Please, I just need some time to think."

The older gentleman watched the boy, watched him relax as he took comfort in his dragon and then he nodded his head slowly.
"Keep in mind Ligiea, for every 'bad' spell there is good. Magic cannot exist without balance." Lifting a hand he generated a small silvery butterfly it floated around wistfully, shimmering before it faded. "A Ying for its Yang. To become more powerful you must learn all the spells...the good and the bad. It is up to you how you use them or if you use them at all." Sitting up he adjusted himself in his chair.
"I am only your teacher, I am here to instruct you and guide you. Today's lesson was to try and draw out a reaction. Perhaps I went a bit too far but as I see it I am fully in control of this room..there are safe guards I have set up in place that will prevent anything fatal. After all you cannot learn without receiving a few cuts and scraps along the way. Endless studying can only get you so far my boy."
He was silent as Ligeia requested he come back the next day, to allow him time to think and clear his head.
"Of course. I do not want to force you to learn anything, you are who you are. But from what you've told me..you want to be able to protect people...and the ones you love. Just those words means you desire the ability to strike back, defense..will only delay the inevitable."
There was a pause and the man went to stand, he gave a small gestural bow in Geia's direction as well Vorels.
"I hope I did not cause you worry Vorel. Your boy has the strength ...he just needs the ability to draw on it..and react." He murmured.
"I will see you tomorrow then Geia."

This teacher was hard to follow he thought to himself as he started for the door to the classroom. One moment he was asking him to make snow balls, the next he was trying to kill him, then he was telling him that he had everything under control so nothing fatal would happen... the guy really exhausted him he thought to himself as he moved toward the door. He would head to his favorite thinking spot and try to figure out what it was that he wanted to do next... really he had no idea. His mind felt as though it were whirling to fast again, to many thoughts all at once that needed to be cleared up and put into a better order so that they made more sense to him.
He was pretty sure that it he thought over it hard enough it would be clearer to him, that he would be able to better put consideration into all he'd been through today. Right at the moment though he wanted to be on his way.
When the teacher spoke to Vorel the Frost dragon merely gave a rumbling growl that said he wasn't happy with the teacher at all. He knew that Ligeia had strength in him, after all he'd stood up to Keir even when he shouldn't have, he'd thrown an icy spell at Auloll even though it had been dangerous. He would react when the situation called for it but it seemed he had a hard time in doing so when it was some one he liked, someone he trusted. He could practice with them but he seemed to never really react, never really let loose... like ever. His boy was to reserved, always thinking first of the safety of others before that of himself. He worried for him...
"Yeah, tomorrow." Ligeia agreed before he headed out of the classroom, out of the building, and then the two of the headed to the room to perch and think. High up in the sky and on such a cool day it was easier for the pair to think about what to do next.

It had been a day that was quite... interesting in the beginning, him flying to the D-Corp building on his own because his dragon had left without him instead taking Maria in. It wasn't something that he'd really understood until he talk with his dragon who told him what was going on. What a stresser that was, to find out that Vorel and Maria had come this far because they had found eggs... Baroness's eggs... he gave a shake of his head, "What a way to wake up." He said before looking over at his dragon, "You should have tried to slow her down instead of being led along so easily... but I am glad you went with her."
Vorel gave a little nod of his head, feeling a bit bad himself for being led off without his partner but at least everything had been cleared up? He wasn't sure really what he thought about the eggs that were found. He knew where they were from after all... and that was just scary, maybe the people of D-Corp would find kids tough enough to partner up with that mixture? Though according to Vorel the eggs had been cold and weak when they found them so perhaps they wouldn't survive? The owl felt a little bad for them. Sure they wouldn't be the most friendly creatures alive but they still deserved a chance, didn't they? He thought so at least...
He stepped into the classroom, looking around for a moment before taking in a deep, steadying breath, "Good afternoon."

When the owl boy had come into the classroom, it was once again much cooler than normal. The teacher, wearing a heavy cape to keep his backside warm was in and amongst a bunch of Ice Spray ball's that were on the floor.
In the far corner was a frame work of icey spears criss crossing like monkey bars and with a tap of his cane one of the balls exploded. But rather than sending a flurry of sharp icey needles it seemed to become like winter had sneezed a bunch of snow everywhere.
The man had half turned when he heard the boy speak, but already the rest of the balls were being triggered and more and more snow was filling up the room. How..was he going to get all the snow out???
"Ah there you are my boy...how are you faring today?"

Ligeia looked around the classroom, at all of the strange things that the man had set up before he looked down at the exploding ball that the man was messing with. Instantly he was drawing up a shield... and then blinked in confusion when he saw... snow instead of shards, "Huh...?"
The shield faded away and he watched as the other spheres just spit out snow instead of shards which was unexpected, "Oh, yeah. Its been a strange sort of day." He said, patting his dragon on the next before he walked forward toward the teacher. He couldn't let himself be a weakling he told himself, had to get stronger and better wield his magic for the good of those he wanted to protect.
"And you? How has your day been?" He asked, looking up at what looked like an icy version of park equipment.

The man smiled and then with a tilt of his can a bunch more spikes appeared from where the monkey bar like ice stood. It twisted up and around making a strange spiral like shape.
"Busy, " He chuckled gesturing to the snow ridden room as well the ice play ground equipment. "But onto more important matters." Zyane managed as he then trudge towards his snow covered chair.
"Have you made your decision on how you are going to proceed?"

Ligeia took a step to the side away from the monkey bars when they seemed to grew some spines then turned to look over at his teacher, "Yes... you look as though you were busy." He agreed before watching as the man turned to go over and sit down.
He took a deep breath as he was questioned and he let it out slowly, "I know... that this is the path I want to take, I love magic and I love learning it. I don't want to hurt anyone but I know that its something that I should have knowledge of." He said before he followed after his teacher, "After all I might run across people who know the spells and its best I am aware of them instead of cornered and trapped by them like I was yesterday." He told the teacher, looking up at the creation the man had made.
"So what is the plan for today?" He asked of Zyane.

The necromancer was silent, listening to his student explain his plan of action and he couldn't of been more proud. He stood up abruptly a huge smile on his face.
"You've done me proud my boy! That's the spirit! You don't run away from what you don't know you learn! Knowledge is power after all!" He laughed sending large clouds of vapor into the air before him.
"You have made a good decision, now we must figure out where to begin." Zyane proclaimed as he thought of the numerous different types of spells they could study.
"Now...you obviously don't want to use...well..the spells I showed you yesterday." He asked giving the boy a look for confirmation.
