The doctor kept an emotionless face. He whispered something to the boy then walked up to the girl. "This will only feel like a small pinch." he said and started to aim the needle, making it look larger than it was.
Erik held Winry's arm so she wouldn't move during the injection. "This'll help the pain in the future." he told her.

"Poor girl doesn't even know what going into labor means." the doctor said neutrally and put the needle into a vein in her arm, injecting the ivy.

"Mood swings." the doctor sighed and took the needle out. "I'll be back in half an hour, or until your girlfriend can calm down." he told Erik and left the room.

The doctor came back in, he was wearing scrubs and a mask. Some nurses followed him and propped Winry up. "In a few minutes she will go into labor." the doctor muttered to Erik while putting gloves on. "You may stay if you wish."
Erik looked at the doctor then at Winry. "I'll stay." he said and held her hand.

After almost the whole night, the doctor stood up straight, holding a small baby. "It's a girl." he said.
