For my Lolita, I usually rub a little powder on my face, because my cheeks are red to the extreme. Sometimes I also put a thin layer of lip gloss on, but it comes off real quick because I have a habit of licking my lips alot. sweatdrop

(this is my first post in this guild! whee!)

My hair is really long and straight- i usually just brush it out and leave it. i want to start curling some of the bottom, though, i just need to actually take time on it.

Makeup wise...

http://laurishea.com/cam/0054.jpg

i go for heavy goth makeup. That's an old picture- lately i've been going lighter on the bottom and heavier on the top. i always use liquid liner on the top and heavy mascara. On the bottom i use covergirl's 'perfect point plus', lightly, and i blend well. i usually use green shadow to match my eyes.

I'm not that big on make-up, I'm lazy plus I don't really look that good in it. My hair will NOT hold curls. I have gotten it to a nice long length, I have fairly good body that can get a nice wave to it.

Ironicaly, because I was complaining this morning that I don't see a lot of different Japanese hairstyles for men, I went downtown to Manhattan to Kinokunia and found a book of hairstyles for guys!

I can't figure out the name of the book unfortunatly, but I took a pic of the cover and a pic of three pages! Although, most of them look similar. ^^;

Honestly, it really depends on your indivudual eyes. I have one eye with a double eyelid, and one without. (it drives me NUTS) But I find the one with the double eyelid easier to put makeup on. Tell me what you want to learn about so I can help you? Like, if you want to know about eyeliner, or eyelashes, or eyeshadow, ne? Putting most makeup on Asian eyes isn't a whole lot different than any other eye. (:

Yeah. XD It bugs the HECK out of me. Like, if I open my eyes wide, I look like this: o__O *giggles* If I have to take a picture of my face or something, poking it usually creates the second double eyelid so I don't have that "ORLY?" look. Hahaha!

On eyeshadow: Since most Asian eyes don't have double eyelids, or if they do, they aren't highly defined, we need to create the illusion that there is a shadow there to give dimension to the eye. First, you need three shades of eyeshadow. I find that pale, cool or neutral, shimmery pink works well as a base color, shimmery cool purple looks good near the lashes, and a rich, grape-brown color is good for your crease. To apply, if you are using powder eyeshadow, you need three eyeshadow sponges and a small blending brush. First, apply the base color to your entire eyelid with an eyeshadow sponge. Then, apply a thin line of the purple, or whatever you're using right up against your upper lashline all the way across using the tip of the sponge. (you can skip if you're wearing eyeliner on the top.) Then, with the tip of a sponge, find where your eyeball curves into the socket on the eyelid. You should be able to feel it, about where you can start to feel the orbital bone. Here is where you put a thin line of the dark shadow, this illusion of a shadow. Trace your eyeball on the top, on your eyelid with the shadow on the tip of the sponge. Then, with a little of your base color on it, use the blending brush to blend this line into the base. It should still be visible afterwards, just subtle. (: I hope that helped, if you didn't get part of it, or want me to explain something else, just ask.
