 Soryuu KenjiNameless Village | Nature's Guard | ChuuninStraining to combat the corruption his foe was creating in the earth was beginning to wear on Kenji as he could feel the man pushing back against him. It seemed that no matter how much he tried to regenerate the earth and affect the man's vines, he could not overcome them... he had simply had too much of a head start on him. As he tried harder, the intensity of his opponent's chakra merely increased and fought him back, seemingly almost accelerating the growth of the corruption before Kenji had to finally give up.
Releasing the seal he held, Kenji let out gasping breath as the release of energy stopped, causing his vines to retract from the coil mass of corruption which was ever growing underneath the man before releasing them to the ground. Once they hit, they quickly shriveled up, hardened and turned to dust on the ground, leaving Keni to stand in a somewhat exasperated breath as he stared at his opponent with a mixture of awe and defeat. "What is this foe?... I've never battled corruption of the earth this bad before. Worse then that, I waited too long... but it's like I was fighting an overwhelming force through just those two vines. Maybe not all is lost however... if I were closer, if perhaps I could touch him, the technique would be more effective, but something tells me that's just not a good idea at all."
Staring down his opponent, he was unsure of what to do next. Lightning seemed to work, but he only had that one technique, which didn't seem to be effective enough, and he wasn't close enough to approach with his weapon. "No way to attack, but I can't afford to leave him alone." This man was beginning to make Kenji wish someone else was here to help as he no longer saw this as a simple match... but he was alone and help was not likely to come no matter how dangerous this person might be.
Summoning his courage, Kenji stood tall and worked to stop his somewhat labored breathing and addressed his opponent in the hopes that he could goad him into an attack and allow Kenji to counter him in some way..."Well that didn't work. I'm tired of always being the aggressor though... now it's your turn. Start fighting me or I'll just be forced to declare myself the winner and say that my opponent refused to fight against me."

"Well I have seen enough of you to form a basic strategy to face you and my vines have had enough time to take full root. Demon Vines..." With those words Chaos began focus his chakara into his demon vines. The vines then quickly reacted and began growing at an exponential rate under the earth. The would quickly begin corrupting the entire battlefield until it was nothing but a dead land. However that wasn't all.
"...White Mist." Along with the vines moving under the earth, a white mist like substance began to form around Chaos. This mist quickly began to spread outward to cover the battlefield. Yet the mist wasn't made to take cover in but rather it was made up of tiny toxic demon vine particles made to paralyze its victims. Chaos had breed this to be non-fatal yet the paralyzing effects would quickly hinder his foes and reduce their movements to become slower than Chaos's own.
I've had countless time to plan my tactics. Unlike most ninja who build their strategies on their strengths, I look towards my weakness. With this mist I eliminate my foes speed advantage and allows for more surprise tactics. Chaos snickered a bit as many people knew of his toxic mist but few knew how flammable it was. With a simple explosive tag or a 200 proof bomb Chaos would reduce a battlefield to ashes once the mist covered the area. He destroyed both above and below ground in his battles, leaving nothing behind but decay.

Soryuu KenjiNameless Village | Nature's Guard | ChuuninStanding in wait, Kenji stayed alert, not sure if the man would even move during their entire fight. Still however, now was not the time to rush in, there was still too much he didn't know about the man's abilities. As he spoke, Kenji readied himself for an attack, but was not at all prepared for the way in which it would come. The demon vines which had been corrupting the earth suddenly accelerated their actions, causing Kenji's body to react severely, sending great pain through him as a sense of severe sickness came over him, bringing him to one knee.
His stomach churning and his body feeling ill, Kenji looked up through hazy eyes to see a white mist suddenly appear from the man as it began to spread. "Get up Kenji, don't let this monstrosity beat you, think of how much more of nature could be damaged if he were allowed to live." Swallowing with a large lump in his throat, Kenji pushed through the sickness he felt, bringing himself back to his feet just in time to jump back from the spreading mist. Moving backwards through the air, Kenji's feet landed effortlessly on top of the small lake, the channeled chakra underneath his feet easily stabilizing him on the water's surface. As he landed however, a sudden tinge of pain entered his lungs as he felt his body was being invaded.
"Damn... must have breathed in some of that smoke through my mask." As the pain spread, Kenji instantly knew what the toxin was as he felt his body slow. Being a Soryuu however, it was easily recognized as the corrupted vines which had been plaguing him the entire fight. Performing a few quick hand seals, Shinji placed his hand to his chest as a green light emanated off of his hand, passing the regenerative energies of his bloodline through his system, purging it of the corrupted plant particles, freeing him from their effect. With the mist spreading however, this was only a temporary solution.
Kneeling down to the water's surface, Kenji performed another quick set of seals, placing his hand to the water as a bubble began to form off of his palm. Slowly extracting his hand from the water's surface, the bubble came with him as he placed it over his masked mouth and nose, the bubble adhering to his skin and fabric, quickly shrinking to fit and form an air-tight seal. "Not exactly what the underwater breathing jutsu was made for, but I can stabilize the bubble out of the water. This should give me a good amount of time to not have to worry about that mist again/" Given that his opponent still hadn't moved, Kenji was beginning to get tired of the man. He was an affront to everything he held sacred and needed to be stopped.
His resolve finally welling up inside him, Kenji launched into a series of hand seals, before slamming his hands to the water's surface. "Suiton: Kenkukai!" With the abundance of water around him, there would be no shortage of it around to perform his jutsu. Columns of water formed beneath him, making the water's surface rough as it shot forth under the lake, pushing into the earth as it caused a great rumbling, summoning the vast stores of water in the ground to suddenly rise up all over the battlefield in columns which tore through the corrupted earth's surface, all of the columns twisting in the air in deadly water spirals which flew towards Chaos' position, threatening to impact with great force and overwhelm him.

Chaos watched with amusement as his foe removed the poison from his body and then create the air bubble. A temporary answer. He will have to maintain that jutsu and that will eat up a small bit of chakara and hold a small fraction of his focus. Along with that if he drops it for even a second he will have to remove the poison again and that will eat up even more chakara.
Chaos suddenly smirked as he felt the earth rubble, with his vine network in full growth now he was able to feel what was going on within the earth itself. Another trick to make up for his lower speed was his ability to keep track of higher moving foes, but this situation was equally to his advantage.
As the water spirals flew towards Chaos his foe would feel an abnormality in Chaos's chakara. The chakara in the vines under the earth suddenly lessened and the chakara in the vines that made up his body increased dramatically. Chaos had quickly gathered his chakara for a defensive jutsu...
As the attack hit Chaos he was consumed by water for a few moments before he was revealed unharmed by the attack, all but his face that was. His face was heavy cracked as if his face was made of some kind of plaster. Pieces of his face broke away and fell to the ground revealing the Demon Vines under the skin. Just like his foe felt there was no muscle or flesh to Chaos, he was entirely vines except for the small seed like core in the center. The skin on the outside was actually a synthetic compound that acted like a small layer of impact armor. While it wasn't very effective overall it hid Chaos's true form and came in handy once in a while. "That was a good try but I can harden any demon vine to incredible levels, including the vines that make up my body. It also comes in handy for attacks like... Demon Vines, Demon Spear..." Suddenly chakara flowed from Chaos's body to the vines under the earth once again. A lone vine then suddenly shot forward into the water in the lake before curving upward to try and pierce Kenji in the back. While the vine was only about 1cm thick it was aimed at the foes spine. Chaos's demon vine jutsu lacked raw damage but deadly accuracy and his defense powers made up for that.

Soryuu KenjiNameless Village | Nature's Guard | ChuuninWatching his columns of water crash towards his opponent, Kenji was sure that this time his opponent would move. No one would be insane enough to simply stand there and be hit with such a torrent of water if they could avoid it in some way. To his surprise once more however, Chaos did just that... but it did teach Kenji something rather valuable. As the water was about to hit, he felt the vines underneath the earth weaken a bit as chakra was drawn from them back into his more "physical" form. It seemed that even though he had a widespread range of control of the vines, he couldn't simultaneously use them and defend himself.
"Intriguing. So his defensive ability requires him to shift his chakra back to his body, leaving one part weakened while it strengthens the other. I will have to use that to my advantage." Watching the water columns crash into his foe, once the water had cleared away, flowing over the ground and soaking it completely, leaving Chaos standing in a large puddle of water, Kenji finally confirmed what he had felt all along. "It appears you are every bit the abomination I thought you were." Kenji said shortly preceding his opponent's description of his own abilities.
This fight was getting more and more interesting as time went on, but Kenji would have no time to respond to his foe's taunt as he quickly detected the flow of chakra back into the vines of the earth as one of them shot through the earth and into the lake to assault him. Thinking quickly, Kenji jumped back, performing hand seals mid-air before landing on the surface of the water once more, sliding backwards and placing his palms face down on the rippled waves... "Suiton: Fuuma Mizu Shuriken" Immediately as the words were spoken, the water around Kenji's hands reformed as spinning blades of chakra sharpened and coalesced water quickly shot into the lake like torpedoes, the three coordinated Fuuma Shuriken winding between each other as each one sliced through a different section of the vine, cutting it into 3 pieces.
The threat neutralized, Kenji then brought his hands together in a new seal as the three Fuuma Mizu Shuriken shot out of the lake, spinning wildly through the air directly for Chaos. The new seal's purpose would not be known unless his opponent tried to create a defense of vines against the shuriken, at which point the blades would break apart, turning into water just long enough to circumvent and pass by any obstacles. They would then instantly reform on the other side and continue their path to slice through their opponent mercilessly.

"How foolish..." Chaos said as his chakara began to move and shift once more, most of it massing withing Chaos's body. Chaos would defend himself but he would also attack. While the jutsu flew at him Chaos hardened the vines in his body as the attacks struck him. The attack tore holes in his cloak revealing another layer of armor underneath the cloak. This armor consisted of a full body outfit layered with countless belts. Yet the attack had little effect on Chaos thanks to his armor and his demon vine defense.
Yet while all that was going on Chaos had sent a vine into the earth from his body. The vine traveled through the earth and the second it broke into the earth it shot upward at Chaos's foe. To busy on focusing on battle, Chaos hoped this could catch his foe off guard.

{{I'm confused. Why didn't you respond to my attack at all? I launched 3 Mizu Fuuma Shuriken at you and you made no reference to dealing with them in anyway. How am I suppose to respond to your attack without knowing what my attack did to you? Or is this suppose to somehow happen at the same time as my attack or something?
...also, you said you had two vines travel through the earth to attack me from behind, but I'm standing on a lake of water. Am I to assume (without any further explanation on your part) that these vines also travel through the water in an attempt to attack me from behind?
I really need more to go on then what you've written to make a proper reply.}}

You think a layer of belts could stop a whirling saw blade with little to no difficulty? That's essentially what these Mizu Fuuma Shuriken are... whirling blades of destruction. You got hit with 3 of them without ANY attempt to dodge... and it did very little, if anything. Personally, I think that's a little weak, but whatever, let's just keep this going.}}Kenji was in near shock as he watched his Mizu Fuuma Shuriken go into his opponent without any resistance. He had fully expected this attack to slice through sections of the man if successful, and yet, it seemed to do nothing but rip his cloak. "Who the hell IS this person?..." Having focused on the attack so intently, and stuck in confusion as to what happened, Kenji barely even noticed the vine which whipped toward him. With a glint in the corner of his eye, he looked up just in time to be shocked into action, instinctively moving away from the vine. he managed to dodge it from hitting a major artery or internal organ, but the vine still pierced directly through his shoulder as Kenji let out a brief cry of pain, muffled quickly as he bit his lip.
Kenji could feel the demonic aura begin to affect the area, but he fought against it, channeling his purifying chakra to the area before he suddenly realized what had just happened. "Wait a minute... my attack earlier..." Kenji's mind immediately flashed back to when he channeled his purified chakra through the ground, wondering if perhaps it was too broad of an attempt to affect him. Here he was now though, a piece of Chaos' own body linked to his. This was a golden opportunity. Gritiing his teeth through the pain, Kenji quickly formed a series of hand seals before grabbing the demonic vine with his partially gloved hands firmly... "Ametsuchi Saisei no Jutsu".
His forest eye glowing with intensity as he channeled the power of his bloodline into the technique, Shinji fought against the demonic aura, overpowering it easily as it flooded down the vine with great speed, purifying and restoring the demonic vine as it went. Kenji could only hope that by the time Chaos noticed the energy was spiraling toward him, it would be too late and it would be allowed to reach him and weaken his body so that other attacks would be more effective... or possibly shut him down all together. If his outer casings were too strong to penetrate, Kenji would just have to attack him internally and bypass those steel defenses... which is exactly what he hoped to accomplish with this jutsu.

"Looks like you got a bit of a hole there in you." Chaos said with a chuckle as he ripped off the remaining parts of his cloak revealing the entire belted outfit underneath. A few belts had been cut but the damage was minor at best. "Cutting my treated belts with your attack, how distasteful. Though, I will tell you that as long as you keep using such frontal attacks you won't defeat me." Chaos chuckled a bit not paying attention to Kenji's tactic until it was to late.
"Ugh..." Chaos said as he suddenly stopped moving or rather moving normally. The vine that Kenji had used suddenly shrived up and turned to dust but the damage had been done. Kenji's energy had traveled up the entire vine and into Chaos's core. While there was no permanent damage it had disrupted Chaos's chakara system. His vines were now moving erratically underneath the outfit. "Pr... Ick..." Chaos twitched a bit as he began to start reclaiming control of his vines.

Soryuu KenjiNameless Village | Nature's Guard | Chuunin"This is it... I managed to affect him... Go Kenji, Capitalize!" Despite it's possibly dangerous repercussions, Kenji surged forward across the lake, his movement fluid, and in a relative straight line towards Chaos. He had managed to disrupt the man and now knew what was needed to take him down. "Direct contact... I need direct contact with his core." His eyes wide open for any attack, Kenji wasted no time as he unsheathed the blade which hung from behind him, drawing the blade at the same time as he spoke a curious set of commands... "Ikuze! Rai Ryu!"
Drawing the blade fully out of it's sheath, the normally kodachi sized weapon made of cold steel suddenly erupted, losing it's sharpened edge as the steel was replaced by streams of lightning flowing out from the hilt. Whipping his right arm out to hold the blade to his side and slightly behind him, the streams of electricity flowed erratically, but pulsed with energy, growing out to the size of a katana, where at the tip, the streams of electricity came and met at a single point. The weapon's shape was there, but it was constantly moving as the streams of electricity flowed from the hilt to the tip erratically on several different paths recursively.
By now, Kenji had closed in on his foe and was prepared to strike out at his opponent, as he began to seal a series of one handed seals. Still charging forward, Kenji swung his lightning blade forward, the energy from the blade crackling off of it before it began to point straight at his opponent. "Rakurai!" Much like his previous lightning attack, a bolt of electricity shot off from the blade, but this time, a clear difference could be seen. Now, the bolt had turned into a stream of condensed electricity which shot forth erratically at the target with strands of yellow and blue lightning flowing forth. it would be clear that this attack would be much stronger then the last. The beam itself would be aimed directly for Chaos' core as Kenji was nearing the point where he would have to jump from the water to engage his enemy. Hopefully however, the Rakurai would stun him, or worse considering he would be soaked from all prior attacks, which would give Kenji the precious seconds he needed.

Chaos didn't move nor could he really. He hadn't regained enough of his vines to move or set put his defenses. Rather he used what vines were available to him and defended how he could.
The attack hit Chaos straight on, his vines had hampered the attack enough to avoid doing any serious damage but it had done enough. Smoke was coming off Chaos has many of his vines had been burned, luckily Chaos's core was different than his vines. The core itself had a seed like layer that weakened the attack enough along side the vines.
"You attacked my core... That means you can see my core." Chaos said his eyes slightly glazed over. He had actually felt pain, something he hadn't felt for many years. Few people even knew of Chaos's core and frankly it shocked him that this boy knew. "Well I got good new and bad news... The bad new is I'm going to make your death as painful as possible, the good news is once I am done I will bring you back under my control." Chaos head snapped to one side his eyes now glaring at his foe. "No more games... I think it is time you see the gap in our strength..."

Soryuu KenjiNameless Village | Nature's Guard | ChuuninIt was too late to turn back now... charging at Chaos was probably not the smartest thing at the moment, but he had managed to injure the seemingly invincible tank twice and he had to press the advantage. He heard the abomination's warnings and his incessant babble about superiority... but Kenji had had enough of it. having pressed his attack the entire time, Kenji was now in striking distance. he had stunned chaos and shocked him and his vines, and he would not pass up on this opportunity.
Rushing passed the defensive vines, having already closed in on his enemy, Kenji released his weapon, but it did not fall. Instead, it only levitated about half an inch off his arm, streams of electricity flowing between it and Kenji's arm, keeping it in place and within grasping range. As quickly as he released the blade, he began weaving hand seals as his hands immediately began to glow a green color. Only feet from his target, Kenji then leaped off the ground, extending his arm out reaching for Chaos' core. It was risky and he would probably pay for it, but he had to make his assault when he had his chance. If he was able to strike directly at Chaos' core and make direct contact, he would immediately pour his nature purifying chakra through the technique directly into the seed... which might be able to take it out and destroy Chaos.

"Not so fast." Chaos said as he was suddenly engulfed in his forsaken chakara. The chakara seemed to form a large aura that quickly flooded out in all directions in the air. This was one of Chaos's nastiest yet least favorite moves, forsaken aura. The aura would plague all within it slowly draining their chakara away from them along with weakening jutsu launched at him.
That wasn't all however Chaos had in mind. He spotted Kenji's attack and knew exactly what to do. The second Kenji grabbed Chaos's core, he would begin to pump all his forsaken chakara into Kenji's body. It would have devastating effects on Kenji's system and when combined with the full effect of Chaos's aura would turn the battle quickly. Doing so would allow Kenji to channel some of his chakara into Chaos but since Chaos's core was the primary creation point of the chakara it would have more effect on Kenji then it would have on Chaos.
Once he realizes what he has done he will either go for his weapon or retreat. Yet either way he won't be able to get away. Once I have him in range I will have to decide between my grand Naginata or my three great spears. I will have to wait and see.

Soryuu KenjiNameless Village | Nature's Guard | ChuuninKenji knew that he had little choice but to try to make an effect on the man as soon as possible. He had hoped that his attacks might have stunned him for longer, but it seemed that even in bypassing some of his defenses, the man still had more. As his hand neared the man, he heard him speak and was suddenly flooded with waves of exhaustion and discomfort as he felt the aura the man emitted begin to drain away at his energies. Unwilling to yield to this device however, Kenji channeled his chakra as best as he could, his body's chakra naturally work against such corruption as he screamed in determination and thrust his hand to strike at the man's core.
Surprised, he felt his arm break through whatever it was that composed his skin, cracking through it as his chakra cut through vines which encased him, allowing him to grab the man's core, as he instantly began to pump his chakra through the technique into it. The core was larger then he thought it would be... like an immense seed which seemed to sprout whatever could be seen of the man. the technique would seem not to have been enough however, as Kenji felt the man fight back, seemingly without even moving, feeling his chakra being overrun. this man was stronger then him... he knew that now... but he would not give up. he pushed with all of his might to counter the effects of the forsaken chakra, but his push brought only a counterattack, as the forsaken chakra pushed through into his body, causing Kenji to recoil his arm, releasing the core, and fly backwards.
Having gripped it for only a second, Kenji knew that it was too secure to be ripped out. In fact, the core was the very source of the man itself... not some construct grafted into him... that was his mistake. Even if he had the strength to dislodge the core from the vines currently growing from it... the core itself was the essence of the man's being, and it could not be ripped out of his body as if it were simply a part of it... it WAS in essence his body. the only way to destroy chaos, would be to destroy the core... an event Kenji did not see a solution to at the moment. His body weakened and wracked with pain from the infiltration of the forsaken chakra, Kenji had no control in the air as he flew, crashing to the ground in a motionless heap as he felt the chakra tear through him, attempting to take him over, disrupting the very use of his muscles.
Kenji fought hard against the chakra, his own chakra attempting to engulf and eradicate it from his system... the two polar opposite forces battling eternally only to negate each other. Now that the forsaken chakra was away from it's source, Kenji's chakra would eventually overtake it and eliminate it's effect from his system, but it would take a bit of time. His muscles and body weakened from the combination of all of the ninjutsu used and the drain of the forsaken chakra, Kenji laid on the ground seemingly helpless. through strained motions, he was able to move his limbs slightly, but they shook with weakness as he tried to lift himself from the corrupted earth. it came to no effect however as he laid prostrate on the earth, his body fighting against the forsaken aura with all of it's might, leaving Kenji only able to look up to see what his foe would do next.
