"Humm," Antigonos unrolled his scroll further idly, "how about you start... with... Well. Either I'm really very good at this, or you're very good luck." Grinning broadly, the harper turned around his latest find for inspection; it bore a beautiful illustration of the fickle little plant, and what sounded to him like rather useful information. Still, what did he really know? He was no herbalist. "I think," the dark-haired man said as he carefully rolled the scroll up and set it aside, "that the Harper we send all of this off to will be very pleased indeed."

He hoped he got credit for his finds, but wouldn't be surprised if he didn't. After all, a lot of people were hunting for information right now, his finds probably weren't so remarkable. Even if they were, he wouldn't put it past the Harper to tell him they weren't, and then claim the finds as his own. Given the chance Antigonos might well have done something similar himself, and he knew very well that the world had far more people like him in it than it would make the rest of the world comfortable to know. Only those too stupid or cowardly to take action didn't strive to get ahead, and it would terrify those little herdbeasts to know just how many disguised felines prowled in their midst.

"Are you sure I'm good luck?" She grinned before leaning closer to study that drawing. "Look at that. I find dye recipes and you're finding artwork. I might be jealous." Not seriously, though she was beginning to curse her luck, a little. Still, she'd found something. She wouldn't have to rely entirely on his skill at picking scrolls. That was, if they each got credit for making an effort. And if that credit was worth something.

Luck wasn't his fault, though, and there wasn't really a way to cheat at finding the valuable scrolls as opposed to those with random bits of trivia. She smiled and shrugged. "I'll just have to try to keep up."

Antigonos chuckled, selecting another scroll from the pile and uncoiling it. "Perhaps I should have specialized in record keeping rather than arbitration," he mused aloud, "seems I have an undiscovered talent for discovering lost snippets of information... Or perhaps this is just beginner's luck, and now all I'll find is dyes and crackdust." This scroll didn't look too promising so far, but there was no harm giving it a chance and scanning all the way though; it wasn't an especially long one, and he'd kick himself if somebody else turned this one in later with something really important in the last paragraph.

Eliaza added another disappointing scroll to the pile of those not put aside to bring to the harpers. "Arbitration. Is that what you'll do if you don't Impress? That's ... helping to settle disputes, isn't it? Or, no, wait. That's mediation. But it's something close to that, isn't it?"

She was, yes, interested in harper matters as well. Or, more precisely, in what interested him about harper matters. "I think if I were a harper, I'd end up teaching lore songs to littles."

"No, you're right, that is arbitration," said Antigonos, setting his disappointing scroll aside with a sigh. "but it can be called mediation too... Suppose you could say I just like it when people get along, the world goes a lot more smoothly for all concerned when people aren't arguing... Mmh," the harper inspected the scroll which remained on the table dubiously, "you know I'm not thrilled about the look of the rest of these... How about we turn in what we've found and at least take a break; we can always come back to this later." He needed to stretch his legs, and come to that he needed something to eat; candlemarks had flown by in a haze of dust and scrawled handwriting. Something nice to eat, and maybe a goblet of wine; that sounded civilized to him.

Well, at least she hadn't made a complete fool of herself and reached for the wrong word. That was something, when the scrolls appeared to be filled with nothing else that could be used. She breathed a sigh and added yet another to the pile that helped not at all with these mysterious plants.

The mention of food made her stomach clench and grumble, as it usually did. She hoped it hadn't been loud enough for Antigonos to hear, but she wasn't going to apologize if it was. She'd just pretend it never happened. Still: "I think something to eat sounds like a very good idea." She could use a break from the dust and mustiness too. She stood and smiled. "After you."

Yawning, Antigonos got to his feet and stretched, nearly dislodging Symphony from her perch on his shoulder; the crimson flitt gave a surprised squeak, but made no further complaint. "Fresh bread," Antigonos mused as he headed for the door, "fresh bread and stew and... No, not wine, some cold water, or fruit juice." Perfect for clearing the dust out of his throat; wine could come later, ideally in the company of a comely young lady... Not Eliaza, he wasn't getting anywhere with this one in a hurry, other than back into heaps of scrolls in any case.
