This looks super cool Red! I have no pokemon and don't understand how to play with the cards and such, but I will enjoy being a bistander and rooting people on!

So when's the first match up gonna be?
And is it going to be an elimination or a round-robin?

I'd say probably the weekend of the 23rd or so (a week before Halloween). I was initially planning on doing bracket format, but if you guys want round-robin instead, that's fine by me.
Of course, if we don't have many people playing, we'd pretty much have to do round-robin. confused So far, all I know for certain in terms of participants are as follows:
==Entering== Myself Rocket (if she can get wifi access) Bapp
==Not entering== Lorika (doesn't have any pokemon to use) Fel (doesn't have any pokemon to use)
==Possibly entering== Dart
Please correct me if I'm mistaken on any of these.

How exactly would we go about round-robin? *unfamiliar with format/can't remember exactly what it is*

The easiest way to explain this would probably be as an example.
Say we had 4 players. If we used Bracket/Elimination Format, we'd play it like this: Round 1 - A vs B , C vs D Round 2 - winner of A/B vs winner of C/D Winner = last player standing
If we used Round Robin, it would be more like this: Round 1 - A vs B , C vs D Round 2 - A vs C , B vs D Round 3 - A vs D , B vs C Winner = player with most victories; if there's a tie, players with highest score face each other one more time in tie-breaker round.

Naturally I plan on joining but the random factor here is at what time are we going to have it. The Wi-Fi at the house is through the roof so Saturday is good but it's gonna have to be around night EST for me to be in a place for me to access it. If not I'm going to be outside on a tractor

The way I plan on running this will make time a non-issue.
Once the match-ups are determined, the participants will have a week to have their matches; that way they can figure out amongst themselves the best time to take on their opponents.
Naturally, we want to have them done at earliest convenience, but it's better that we play it in a way that doesn't risk disqualifying someone for not being able to show at a given time.
To better facilitate this way of playing, we'll just go ahead and make this a Round Robin tournament. I'll update the Official Rules accordingly.
(btw, @Dart: night EST is usually the best time for me as well)

@Red: Okay! That makes sense. Thanks! biggrin
Hah, I'm the odd-one-out; CST is the timezone I use. But EST is only one hour ahead, so it shouldn't be too difficult.

Like I just told Dart, if you're not actually present for the opening, you can still compete by challenging your assigned opponent at any time throughout the following week.
So, for example, if your first opponent was listed as me, but you couldn't make the opening, you could challenge me on, say Wednesday night instead and still have the match count for the tournament.
Think of it more like a week long event rather than a single-day thing. smile

GMT+8 over here though. Don't know when the time goes along with yours.
But by that time exams are over. I can stay up overnight if needed.
