and you are done 』 Froggy tugged on the sleeve of the woman she lived with. The woman was old enough to be a grandmother so Froggy called her 'Nanny.' "Nanny! Nanny! Can you buy me that?" she asked. The woman nodded and went off to get her the stuffed animal. She skipped away and wasn't looking where she was going. She ran into a wall, walked back a few steps, and fell backwards, landing between Duska and Alcide. She got up slowly trying not to make herself dizzy.

Duska's working eye scanned the people for anyone frantically looking for a confused girl. She came up empty. When she looked back a little girl had apparently just run into the wall behind Alcide and herself. She wondered if she was the only sane one. 'One can't remember her friend at all and the other skips into walls...where can I go hide?' she wondered to herself. It was not that she was trying to mean to them, but with one eye gone, her unpredictable headaches and the bad limp of her artificial leg, she doubted she could do much for them.

and you are done 』 Froggy finally had gotten herself up. She looked from Alcide to Duska a few times. "I-I'm fine," she stuttered like a child. She was 16 and shouldn't stutter, but she couldn't help it. She was scared. She didn't notice but she had gotten a scratch on her forehead between her eyes.

  Green was leaned against the wall of a hobby store, waiting for the bus to come and pick her up. Gawd, she couldn't wait to get herself some wheels. No more late buses, no more nagging Mom to drive her places, no more sh-... No more problems.
A commotion to the right caught her eye and she turned and watched as a series of freaks started doing their thing. She narrowed her eyes as she watched two dolls having the weirdest conversation ever. It doesn't know where it is? And the other's trying to help? What dopes.
Then she saw a little girl run smack-bang into the wall, and she felt a bit of concern. That girl was way too close to the dolls. She could upset or confuse them, and they could retaliate. Supposing one of them freaked out enough to hit her? And if one of them's programmed to be armed... Like Dad often told her, "When artificial life forms start acting up, it can get dangerous for the living. What any good citizen will do is return them to their owners and get them off the streets."
Well, the bus wasn't due for another twenty minutes or so. That should be long enough to shake their memory cards into focus and get them outa here.
Humming and resisting the urge to "bob her chin" (she's told Mom over and over, it's not "bobbing") to the music in her head, she stepped over to the weirdos. "Are you guys lost or something?"Groove, slam, work it back.
