Eytucan gazed at the arrivals and beamed. He spotted the young Jube coming into the crowd and sitting herself next to the other priestesses, and he took a mental note to mention to her the importance of arriving on time. Course, just then two more members approached the gathering and eytucan shook his head of the thought, as it seemed a few others had forgotten the importance of arriving ON TIME. He sighed, gazing over at Ewya. "Or goddess is with us. Eywa-mother... she is one with the people again. Let this nights feast be in recognition of the hard work and devotion of our pride!"

He stepped down from his throne and down into the people, walking careful between them and into the center of the meeting ground, where meat had been carved from the bone and set for easy distribution. Eggs from exotic birds; larvae from beetles for the more adventurous members. "Let the feast begin. Oel ngati kameie, ma Tsmukan, ulte ngaru seiyi ireiyo. Ngari hu Eywa saleu tìrea, tokx 'ì'awn slu Na'viyä hapxì."

*I See You, Brother, and thank you. Your spirit goes with Eywa, your body stays behind to become part of the People.

Pietr watched the king leave his stand and walk into the crowd, towards the feast. He felt such an immense sense of excitement and pride for the place he called home. He smiled up at his sister, so happy that they were one with the people; they were here and they would never leave. This was home now; and this was going to always be there forever. Someday, Petra would have cubs here and so would he... someday he would be king.

He felt a bit anxious about that. For a fact, he would be older than the future queen; as she was not born yet. But it was the way. They would have to make due. Pietr also repeated the words. "Oel ngati kameie, ma Tsmukan, ulte ngaru seiyi ireiyo. Ngari hu Eywa saleu tìrea, tokx 'ì'awn slu Na'viyä hapxì."

Eywa smiled around at everyone, her wings enveloping around her priests and priestesses in a sign of affection. She nuzzled young Jubes as she approached, noticing that not soon after two more joined the group. She took note of how Toruk Makto glanced in Jube's direction and a beaming grin crawled across her face. Of course, now she understood. She watched the King go among the people, she watched how some admired him and some did not, some scowled behind his back. She did not like the tension.

"My king! Oel ngati kameie, ma Tsmukan, ulte ngaru seiyi ireiyo. Ngari hu Eywa saleu tìrea, tokx 'ì'awn slu Na'viyä hapxì." She also repeated, leaning on Zelt and singing the words joyfully. She nudged Jubes. "Don't be so glum sweet heart!"

Jubes settled down quickly as to not draw attention to herself, though she felt eyes looking at her all around and made a face. She looked over her shoulder to see the two older lions entering around the time she did; she giggled lightly, settling in between her comrades and feeling very warm and safe. She stood up on her hind legs to see Eytucan leave his high place and walk towards the food, YES FOOD.

"Oelngatikameie, maTsmukan,Ultengaruseiyireiyo.NgarihuEywasaleutìrea, tokx'ì'awnsluNa'viyähapxì." She said the phrase in one jumbled word, excited to finally eat!"
PostPosted: Sun Dec 19, 2010 2:29 pm

Clermeilli-Pie held back to let the others eat before her. Somehow in the jumble to get seated for the meal, Clermeilli-Pie standing near Ewya and being bumped into the goddess. Though it was not her fault, Clermeilli quickly bowed her head and apologized. "Please forgive me, Mother Ewya." It really would not due to make such a high-ranking lioness of the pride mad.

The safety of Clermeilli-Pie's cubs depended on this pride. So far she, herself did not feel very at home here, but she had only just gotten settled into her place with the pride, so it would take some time. "Oelngatikameie, maTsmukan,Ultengaruseiyireiyo.NgarihuEywasaleutìrea, tokx'ì'awnsluNa'viyähapxì." She murmured the prayer to herself and turned it over in her head. How many times had her own parents whispered those words?

As a cub she did not understand what they meant, her parents had told her later, but by then she had thought them only some crazy tradition of her parents just like the stories of Ewya. The fact that she was here and not her parents who held their faith so firmly, was just more evidence to Clermeilli-Pie that spirituality was not as important as some would think. Practicality would always have to come first if she was to get anything.

User ImagePeya Tse'a remained quiet, taking his place in the mass of the pride, and staying silent except when the entire pride responded. He had felt the tension when Kerusey had joined the leaders at the front, and noted who the latecomers were. Ewya's return . . . he hadn't been expecting it to go off like this, but then, he wasn't in charge.

Anyone watching him would notice that Peya seemed tense. He hated ceremonies like this; too many people could cause trouble. Admittedly, all he was supposed to do was take care of secret things, but a secret could blow up very easily into something bigger with this many lions around.

Peya tried to stick to the outskirts of the mass, now that the speaking seemed to be over. The more he moved, the more he could hear.

Snorting in reply to his friend’s words he muttered something under his breath along the lines of Kaym not having the guts to approach the All-Mother. Though frankly, Toruk himself wasn’t entirely sure getting close to Eywa was within his ability or bravery. He was thoroughly intimidated by the stories of the Goddess and much preferred to protect her from threat by fighting on the front lines, than talking to her within hometree like he did Kaym or any other pride member. Ducking his head he followed the scout into the gathering area, gaze roaming till he caught sight of Juubeihlee once again. He couldn’t help it, he felt drawn to her like a moth to flame. Eywa’s light seemed to halo around her, allowing him to pick her out in a crowd, or as in this case, the current gathering of the whole pride within hometree. Releasing a little sigh he had to admit Kaym was likely right, he hadn’t done much more than talk to her in passing, too afraid she would refuse him or worse, be scared off by his age, experience or title. That depressed him as there was nothing he could do about any of those three things. He was an imposing lion, taller than most, he was older than her and he couldn’t give up his title even if he wanted to, which he didn’t. It was who and what he was, next to being Iknimaya.

Hurrying forwards to catch up with his fried, Toruk spent the next few minutes settling into place and listening to the words of their leader, Eytucan, and Eywa herself. He didn’t miss Kaym’s own roaming gaze and allowed himself a small smirk. He knew there was someone his friend liked, but as of yet, hadn’t been able to work out who, since Kaym was entirely close-liped on the whole matter, often using Juubeihlee to distract Tsamsiyu. Catching his attention wandering once more he faced forwards, briefly catching Eywa’s gaze and blinking at her knowing smile even as she turned away. Now, what was that all about? Surely... Paling at the idea she had noticed his distracted gaze on Jubes, he snapped to attention and sat ram-rod straight, tail curling behind him as he silently whispered preyers that he wasn’t about to be ousted and humiliated in front of his little priestess. Eywa forgive me, I’m a fool and an idiot and I know it.. Closing his eyes he fervently hoped Juubeihlee hadn’t noticed as well.

Realising that not only had Eytucan moved, but that the feast had started, he quickly intoned the words along with the other members, glancing to the scout at his side. “Oel ngati kameie, ma Tsmukan, ulte ngaru seiyi ireiyo. Ngari hu Eywa saleu tìrea, tokx 'ì'awn slu Na'viyä hapxì.” Chuckling he rose to his paws and nudged Kaym lightly. “Let’s eat Brother, then we can talk some more.”

Kaym'itan's sharp gaze caught the look that Eywa gave his brother and he had to stifle a chuckle at Toruk's embarrassment. Although he could not see it as a bad thing for the brother of his heart. Both he had Toruk had given so much during the war, and not just their share of blood and flesh, but of themselves. Neither warrior had sought out mates, nor made deep friendships past each other. Their cycle of life had marched on without them, and now older, and perhaps no wiser, he wondered at just how much they had sacrificed. Maybe some divine intervention by the goddess was exactly what Toruk needed. If not, well, the old boy might never speak to his lovely little priestess.

Not that Kaym'itan had room to roar over, he still hadn't even admitted to his best friend that he'd had his eyes on the lovely sitter, who he still had not found among the People now gathering to eat the meal provided by their King. He wondered if maybe Seze was with the cubs and would come later, or maybe he should save a portion for her. Maybe wrap it up in one of the huge leaves from Hometree and take it to her. Frowning as he contemplated if he should or not, he missed the prayer.

Thankfully, Toruk nudged him and he uttered the prayer with the absolute conviction of a warrior who had given everything for his People, " Oel ngati kameie, ma Tsmukan, ulte ngaru seiyi ireiyo. Ngari hu Eywa saleu tìrea, tokx 'ì'awn slu Na'viyä hapxì.”

Standing, he followed his oldest and perhaps only friend to the feast.

Eytucan smiled as the sounds of his people chanting together, chanting the words that their ancestors spoke once a long time ago. He raised his head high, feeling pride flow through them all. He looked to his mate, his beloved queen. He looked to the future king and his sister. He looked to his people. And he was whole again.

He bent his head, sending a silent prayer to the sky... to their ancestors...
Fin for Eytucan

Pietr felt eyes on the back of his head, looking up at Eytucan and could see him gazing down at him; and he smiled back. He felt pride in his kings eyes. He felt pride seep into himself. Someday this would be his pride. Someday he would become king and he would have a mate who was queen. He would someday plan the hunts and the battles and the hunting.

He felt immense pride at these thoughts and bent down too his meal.
Fin for pietr.

Jubes giggled to herself at how silly everyone sounded as they said the prayer aloud. It sounded so strange and yet so... so cool to her. She loved the way the words rolled off her tongue, now that she knew them. It had been rather easy for her to learn the words, but... to remember them on the spot was hard sometimes. She had promised herself that she would learn them though, to become one of the members.

She lowered her head and eyed up the food before them. Wow... what feast. She licked her lips, wiggling her bottom happily before she-felt eyes on her. She lifted her head, looking around the group of people before her eyes fell upon Tsam. Toruk Makto. He was looking at her. She smiled at him cheekily.

Why had he been looking at her like that?

Nya smiled widely at her people. She was home here. She was happy here.Fin for nya

Somehow, the ebb and flow of bodies around the feast carried the two mature and highly decorated warriors in its flow so that, when Toruk emerged from the ceaselessly shifting throng, he appeared opposite his young priestess. Freezing in place, one paw lifted to take that last step to where he would settle down to eat, he felt as if he was suddenly stripped bare as her eyes fixed on his, not only his adornments, both memories and mementos of battles long won and lost, it was as if she saw below his coat, saw past the colour of his stripes and deep into his soul.

And then she smiled.

It was a long moment before he realised he had been staring back at her silently, slack-jawed and likely looking a fool. Inside he was sure he was shaking, not only had he not been prepared for this sudden face-to-face encounter, but his so recent fear that she would discover his feelings had unseated his usual calm and collected manner.

On the outside, the impressively decorated male stood silently, gold eyes fixed on the young priestess-in-training, his expression intent. Then suddenly, the sombre looking lion smiled, gold eyes lit with an inner warmth as he took the last step and settled down before the feast. Looking over the meats and various bugs and fruit laid out for the pride, he met her gaze, her smile reflected by his own.

“Oel ngati kameie, tsmuke.” He dipped his head to her in respect as he greeted her politely in the old tongue. His golden eyes lowering briefly before lifting to settle once more on her own. “How are your studies coming along, if I may ask?”

Inside he was nervous, fighting not to become tongue-tied as he settled down to start on the feast before them, but it was not the perfectly prepared meat he wished to savour, but his young priestess’s presence. The solid weight of Kaym at his side was a great reassurance. They had faced the fangs of crazed beasts together, surly he could handle one conversation with his Jubes.

* I see you, sister.

Jubes felt a bit funny smiling up at such a nice male; so strong and Toruk Mackto! He was so cool to her, being he was so strong and so... so... well she didn't really know. He sort of reminded her of her father in a way, even though she really hadn't ever talked to Tsam; she had always been busy running around getting chores done or being taught by the other priestesses.

Yet right now, he was here. He was right by her and she could talk to him face to face and it was okay. And he was right in front of her. She bobbed her head at him. "I see you brother..." She said, not in the formal language of her people as she was to nervous to remember how to say it. "They are well... I am learning quick, as I am told..." She said softly, her unusual eyes gazing down at the food before flicking back up at him. "And yourself? How is life as Toruk Mackto?"

As she spoke he had to remind himself that swooning to the sound of her voice was really not becoming of a male. Eywa help me, I have it bad. Instead, he managed to keep the silly grin off his face as he listened to her, watched her as she glanced away. She was so innocent, so pure.. the warrior part of his heart wanted to protect her, to keep her safe every day from everything. She represented what he and Kaym had fought so hard for in the wars, risked life and limb to protect, that innocence and beauty of spirit.

Her question made him laugh lightly, a warm deep rumbling sound. "You will make a fine priestess one day, Juubeihlee." Smiling his gold eyes warm with amusement, he swallowed a chunk of meat before replying. "The same as it was before as Tsamsiyu'eyng. Only there seems to be less work to do these days." Grinning playfully at her, since with his title had come a whole slew of new jobs, but it hadn't been anything he had not already been doing, and with the recognition of his King he had at least been taken off the main hunting rota.

He felt silently amazed at himself, acting so... what was the word.. carefree around her. He felt young again, the years stripped away, the shadows of war that stained his soul lightened a little in her presence. Feeling his brother's warmth at his side he silently preyed to Eywa that Kaym's heart would feel this sweet light, and soon. He worried for his oldest friend, and despite their teasing of the other, he desperately hoped Kaym found his own piece of salvation swiftly. He would have to find out who it was that Kaym had his eye on and see about pushing the pair together.

Jubes grinned shyly at him, her odd eyes staring down at the ground as her cheeks blushed at his compliment. What a smooth talker. She giggled, twisting her paw into the dirt. "Thank you." She said softly, looking at her food but not touching it. She was really nervous around him, he was such a strong male. So sturdy. So strong. She felt her tail flip around a bit. "I am sure that is a good thing thought-right?" She smiled. "Not having much to do. Means the pride is at peace for now..."

She shuffled her paws, looking around nervously. "Can... can we meet after the meal? And hang out a little bit?" She shut her eyes and stuck out her chin. "I don't want to hear you say yes or no... Just meet me later at the entrance of hometree. Okay... " She bent down and took a few bites and with that, continued her meal.

Kaym'itan chuckled at the exchange between his best friend and the young priestess, thinking that Toruk may have bitten off more then he could chew with her. He did his best to hide his smile behind the hunch of meat he was currently worrying at on, his heart pleased for the brother of his heart.

Chewing thoughtfully, the Scout contemplated his own future, and what it could hold for him. The whole time during the war, he never thought past that day, that moment...now, well there was peace. Eywa bless it, he'd never expected to have a future, so many of his friends, and all his family had their own cut brutally short. Now he could afford the thought of a mate or cubs.

He blinked, suddenly dumb struck...Eywa...he could have a family...
PostPosted: Wed Feb 16, 2011 5:00 pm

Finding himself smiling mack at her, he really hoped he didn't look like a love-struck fool, despite knowing that was exactly what he was... Yet he couldn't help letting his own deeper laugh join her warm giggles, he could sit and watch her all day. "Of course.. I get time to just relax and enjoy the forest now.. its nice."

Realizing she wasn't eating, he looked at her concerned, but her next words blew away all other thought. Unable to help his surprised look even as his heart leaped and started bounding around his rib cage. Opening his jaw to reply that 'of course he would love to meet her later', she cut him off before the words could even form. Giving a sheepish grin he nodded his head, eyes sparkling with amusement.

Catching Kaym's side-long look he blushed and cleared his throat, dropping his muzzle to the meal in order to mask the silly grin he knew was showing.

Kaym'itan couldn't help himself, the look on Toruk's face and the blush turning his ears a bright red were to much for him. The usually silent and grim faced Scout began to laugh.

At first it was just a warm chuckle, then it turned into a full resounding rumble. Kaym'itan had a welcoming laugh, as if his voice had been made to laugh loud and laugh often. It was a shame he rarely did.

Lifting a huge paw, he slapped Toruk on the back, his grin infectious, " About time you Skxawng. I though another Home Tree would grow before you managed more then stolen looks and mournful sighs." The male snorted, " Fearless in battle, but put a girl in front of him and he runs the other way."
