Chaonis frowned, eying her as she scolded him. What got her panties in such a bunch? Certainly not him: he wasn't going to go anywhere near them. Yet she was yelling at him like she had some kind of point, though what she was saying was mostly going in one ear and right back out the other, his attention waning. He looked over when she pointed, a visual cue he could follow, and grinned for the crowd.
When she agreed to his blackmail, which had been mostly feigned, he blinked. Well, now she owed him her life and some money. He imagined she was going to be seeing a lot more of him because of it.
He wasn't one to let a debt go unpaid.
"Alright, alright, I'm leaving," he knew better than to stay long enough for the cops to arrive, at least. He ran to catch up to her, pausing to look at her as she limped. Sighing, he made to surprise her, cutting in front of her and grabbing her arms with his hands reached out behind him. He tugged her to him, so her front was against his back, stooping before he hauled her up piggy back style, a bit rough, arms moving to catch her legs.
He huffed, pretending she weighed a ton (it was probably the three hundred skirts she was wearing), before charging out of the mall. The wail of the emergency crew behind them, he ran just far enough to dump her in an alley. His luck was with him, in its way, as he managed to deposit her in a puddle. There were always convenient puddles of unknown origin in alleyways.
But could she complain? He had just helped her out of there.
"Can you make it from here? 'Cause I've gotta go. I'll see you when I need some cash!" He grinned, not sticking around long enough to find out her answer, scrambling up a fire escape and hurrying off.
If he didn't get home soon, Tony was going to notice, and get on his case.
