I went to a Stephanie Meyer book signing a while ago and got Twilight and New Moon signed! I was so happy! Quite a few people had ‘I <3 Edward’ shirts (with a real heart drawn), which made me jealous…I don’t have anything like that. crying

Yah somewhere there are shirts that say that. I want one so much. I read both New Moon and Twilight (not in that order) in like four days.
I love them both. In New Moon, I really conected to Bella. Mayeb it's because I've felt the same way she did...*shakes head* anyway!! I love the books!!!!!

Has anyone seen the news blurb from Reuters "Stephenie Meyer drops new book after Web leak"? I don't know how to embed the link in this post, but that is the exact title. Sounds like she gave a few unedited copies of "Midnight Sun" to some trusted people, and one of them posted bits (or more) online.

I want to know what the appeal of the "Twilight" series is. Honestly, I am NOT a fan. I have read the first book, and was captivated until it got closer to the end. The whole scene in the forest, before Bella is injured, was too mushy for me. I like my vampires to be in love, but not mushy. I feel that "Twilight" ruined vampires for me, just a little bit. I prefer Amelia Atwater-Rhodes vampires; dark, fast, beastly, yet compassionate towards their lover.

I don't know the appeal either--I just thought the news article was interesting. (Personally I prefer the early Anita Blake books by Laurell K. Hamiliton.)

Cherished Strawberries I love Jasper! I know, that's not who everyone says they love, but I think he's just so sexy. heart That's what happens when I join a Twilight guild and a reading guild, I guess. sweatdrop i soo agree with you, jasper is the best, but he seemed to be such a background character until Eclipse, which disappointed me. Jasper and Alice make such a cute couple, and that's why i believe they are my favourite characters.

I saw the movie a few days after it came out and...*gag* Terrible. Acting was awful, Bella stuttered through every line (no lie, there isn't a single thing she says that isn't a stutter except for ... "Vampire" ...), Edward was ugly as hell thanks to his crappy make up, and the fact that there were a couple dozen twelve-year-olds in the theater sighing and cooing and ahhing and oohing every time Edward came on didn't help. I admit that Carlisle was hot, Rosalie was badass, and Laurent was freakin' awesome, but everything else (I mean, EVERYTHING) can just be flushed down the toilet. I seriously hope that they don't do the same thing with the next three movies (even though they probably will). And here I thought such a shallow storyline as Twilight couldn't be butchered any more than when it was written. xp Now, I would love to have something with Jasper as the main character (and a different author, for Christ's sake).

Okay well, I have to admit, I was into it when it first came out, and I do sometimes still think I love it, but I'm coming into terms with reality here. The book was alright, but the movie was absolutely horrible. The acting was awful. I do love the actors though. I've loved Rob since his days in Harry Potter (Cedric <33), and I plan on still loving him. I think he's pretty sexy all pale and with the defined features and stuff. I think he was one of the best actors in the movie. Now, I do agree that Kristin Stewart didn't do a very good job on the acting part. She LOOKS the part, but doesn't act it. Oh but Carlisle was BRILLIANT! Him and Emmett are definitely my favorite characters. It's kind of weird though that I say I love it and I have Twilight posters on my wall and stuff, when I really don't like it as much as I did before. I don't know...maybe after a little bit of time telling myself that I hate it I'll realize I really do.
But anyway...it's basically way too cheesy for me. I'm so sick of love stories, they can get very annoying. I do admit that some of it was cute, but most of it was just -gag-. The scene in the forrest was cute, having Edward sitting and watching you at night is creepy...see what I mean? I also think that it's a bit like Romeo and Juliet, which I do like...but not for the romance. But I think the balcony scene and basically that whole book go hand-in-hand. Sexual, cheesy, and "romantic".
