Blue Streak seems happily unaware of other kimeti's real motivations -- but she has no reason to question them, and seems much happier without knowing. "It's kind of like when I fell into a hole and had to climbing up out of it and it was steep at first and I thought I was going nowhere and I was going to be stuck in there because I was too busy telling a songbird about how her feathers reminded me of the sunset's reflection in the water and then I realize that it was getting less steep and I was getting out!"

She had to stop for a few seconds just to breathe. "A foxbun would be nice and I guess even if they don't talk all that much they're awful cute and I bet they're really cuddly because I've never seen a foxbun all by itself and oh, no, I really don't want to take a foxbun away from their family."

"Yes, that true. As long as you keep going you're bound to make it there eventually. And no, I wouldn't want to take one from it's family either... But even if we don't find one together, I'm sure you'll probably find one eventually." He nods some, and finds himself stepping into thick, spongey moss.

"Oh! Well, it looks like we've made it out of the bog finally, or at least for the most part." There are a few small dips filled with murky water still, for awhile, but even the fog has lessened.

"I don't really know where I'm going actually but I'm sure I'll know when I get there and until then all I can do is keep walking and try not to fall into any more deep holes." The lack of purpose doesn't seem to bother her very much; she's got no place to go and all the time in the world.

"If I find one by itself then I'm sure it must be really lonely and then we can keep each other company and it'll be nice for both of us and I won't have to take it away from its family and wouldn't that be nice?" She leaps up and lands, hooves squelching in the moss, and she prances in place, kicking off the mud -- and careful not to hit Soul Drift.

Soul finds himself laughing more than he has in awhile the more time he spends with Blue Streak, and finds it to be a rather pleasant experience. Sure, she talks a lot, but Soul Drift has always been extremely patient and well.. sometimes he himself can get into the habit of talking about something for awhile-- especially if it's about one of his latest trips around the swamp. Besides, after so long without being able to travel any length with another kimeti, he welcomes the distraction.

"I'm sure any foxbun you find would love to have you as a companion. They're very social creatures, I believe."

All of her energy reminds him of a young filly at play-- hopping and bouncing around, and the talking, of course, but in a good way. It's very hard for him to feel overly serious, as he can sometimes get, with her in his presence. Finally, though, as the muck and water gives way to truly dry land, Soul sighs in relief.

"Now to just find a clean pond or stream to rinse off in." The mud already on his coat from walking through the bog has begun to dry and harden, making him feel a bit itchy and uncomfortable.

"I think they can be too social maybe because that gray doe kept trying to bite the foxbun following her only it was really quick because she never managed to bite it and she was fast."

Blue Streak never grew past fillyhood, it seems; she's still all long legs and energy, practically falling over herself in her eagerness to explore the world, and everything seems new and fresh to her.

"But I would never bite a foxbun and they're so soft-looking like the clouds on a clear day that I think I'd love to have one ride on my back and I bet they have too much fluff to taste good anyhow." Another bounce up, and this time she misjudges -- a splat of mud hits Soul Drift along with the tree she was aiming for, and she laughs.

"Hm... perhaps so. In any case, I've never had the urge to eat a foxbun before." Soul doesn't really eat a lot of meat, anyway. The occasional insect, frog or fish here and there. But mostly he enjoys what fresh greens and fruits he can find.

The sudden slap of wet against his side makes Soul start a little, and the feel of it... running down his side is less than pleasant, in a ticklish way, but he's already so muddy that it hardly really makes a difference. He just shakes himself a little, dislodging some of the excess goop, and laughs softly.

"Definitely in need of a bath."

Blue Streak giggles and prances around him in a circle. "I'm sorry I didn't think I'd land quite so hard and the mud really doesn't look all that good on you but getting clean after being dirty is a wonderful feeling like the water is washing your soul clean." Another little dance in place, and she takes off again.

Soul laughs quietly. "It's quite alright. At this point, I don't think a little extra mud makes much of a difference." Sadly. Not that he really minds a good roll in the mud, sometimes, on occasion, but trudging through a bog he'd meant to be a shortcut-- which hadn't quite turned out that way -- isn't exactly his idea of 'a good roll'.

Though as the doe takes off again, Soul follows. She seems to keep in front of him for awhile, prancing and laughing suddenly, as seems to be her way. But after awhile, the sound of a gurgling stream catches his attention and he pauses, one ear flicking in the direction it's coming from.

"I hear a stream up ahead," he calls to her. "Perhaps we can wash this muck off, and then see about finding something to eat--- I'm starving!"

She wiggled happily, and started bounding towards the sound of the stream. "Sometimes I feel so hungry that I think there's a little crocodile living in my stomach that eats everything and a bath sounds really nice right now I mean I like the mud but I like being clean too and water feels so nice on hot days--"

Blue Streak was rambling so much that she forgot herself and wound up going far ahead, still chattering to thin air.

Soul is in a relatively good mood, despite all the mud. It's hard not to be, with Blue Streak rambling on the way she does. And as they get closer to the stream, his mood lifts with the thought of being ever closer to being clean again.

For a moment, he loses sight of her as she turns around a clump of trees. But he can still hear the animated lilt of her voice, and continues to follow it-- though he does pick up his speed a little. The next he sees her, the stream is just ahead of them, and so he takes off at a light, clipped gallop toward her with a playful laugh.

"Last one there's a rotten egg!"

She squealed and laughed, and scrambled -- 'accidentally' kicking up another wave of mud at him with her hind legs. "You're a rotten egg!" she laughed, bounding ahead to the stream and splashing in wholeheartedly.

Sputtering as Mud splashes up into his face, Soul shakes his head, sending a spray of it around him, and continues on his way after her. He laughs, and shouts "Cheater!" but there's no real venom in it, only playful scolding.

It's enough of a distraction for her to get the one-up over him, though, and the first sounds of splashing come to him a second before he hits the stream as well, jumping and landing in the deeper end, laughing like in a carefree manner that remind him of his years as a colt. He dips under the water, shaking his head to loose the worst of the dried mud, and then surfaces, watching his clear, bright blue coat come clean again.

"Ah! Much better." He laughs a little, and wades toward Blue Streak. Then, just as she looks up at him, he grins, and rises out of the water, hooves splayed-- and comes down with a splash, laughing again as she splutters a little.

She laughed triumphantly, prancing around in circles in the water -- but when he splashed her, she squealed and skittered back, shaking her wet fur and flicking her tail at him. "Not nice!" she scolded back.

Soul grins a little wickedly, "Oh yeah? Well, you started it!" The words come out half-laughing, and he splashes her whole-heartedly once more. It's a little out of character for the normally reserved buck, but it's certainly not a bad thing. Something about Blue Streak brings it out in him. He feels.... well, younger. Not that he's an old stag or anything-- but still.
