Journal Entry #1
I ordered some paints for Jacques, and some seeds for the garden. I'm not sure if he has any interest in art and whatnot, but maybe he can use them to map the areas around the castle, or something. Planning a trip into town whenever the order arrives at the shop, so I'd like to get Jacques some sort of gift, but I'm not sure what to get him. I asked him if he liked chocolate, but it turns out he doesn't even know what it is! Poor kid...what kind of place did he come from that he never even had chocolate? But I suppose well have to remedy that.
Note to Self
Buy gift for Jacques and chocolates when we make a trip into town.
I hope Jacques will enjoy the outing, since this will be his first time visiting another place away from the castle since he arrived. He doesn't really strike me as the type of person that likes to be around others, preferring his own space, but it will do him good to be out and around others on occasion. We can't have the boy turning into a complete hermit, now can we?
Regarding Jacques...he's an active kid, and often he's awake before myself and out and about. Sometime he sticks about the yard, frolicing with my cait, Yasha, and some of the times he's nowhere to be found, but he doesn't go far, as he always hears and returns when I call for him. Rarely, he can be found inside, alone in the library thumbing through my books on natural subjects (though I doubt he actually understands them), or curled up with one of the animals, napping in front of the fireplace in the main room...most often Yasha or Enka, since he likes to use their fluffy tails as a pillow...I'm not sure either of them actually like it, but they tolerate it at least. Occasionally he can be persuaded to help with the gardening or other things around the yard. Overall, he's a good kid.
