Everybody knows I'm Wiccan and they seem to be ok with it. I haven't come across anyone yet who has give me a problem, thankfully. I am sooo lucky to have the family and friends I have because they accept and respect my beliefs 110%. I can't begin to say how thankful I am for that.
As for the pagan community in my area, they are pretty accepting of everyone. As long as you don't go around acting like you know more than you actually do they are a great bunch. You don't have to belong to a coven to get respect.
I can only hope that everyone gets a chance to belong or have access to some kind of communial group. Stick with it and eventually your parents/family will come to see that you aren't some kind of evil freak.

My family doesn't know, but I have a feeling they won't except it. There's this girl at their who's mom was one, but she was crazy. They treat pagans and wiccans like gays, and that's bad. They'd probably disown me. I plan on thelling them when I'm 18 next year, so that going to be a hard time for me.

The people that have asked didn't have a problem. The ones that didn't ask don't care. I guess. >>

Well I am accepted pretty much all around though I am not wiccan I am pagan, but like some one said before you have to be picky about words you use. If some one doesn't know what a pagan is and you are like "Yeah I worship a Horned God and practice witchcraft naked in the woods at night!!!" well I mean... what would you think? Mostly if people ask what it is I just say it is a polytheistic earth based spiritual path with no writen dogma, and if they want a better defin. and more details then that I can go more in depth. Though generally I have found out that people don't care.

And it makes peope take it seriously, like it is more complex... I don't know if you understand what i am saying... like if i was just to say "I'm a witch" because of modern stereotypes it can cause problems. So it is a round about way of saying the same thing in therms that aren't associated with negative images because of society. I know it sounds kind of stupid but it makes life a lot easier.

My family thinks it s a phase (at twenty-one years old! rolleyes ) but my friends are okay with it. I've even had the pleasure of meeting other Wiccans and Pagans throughout high school.
Good times.. biggrin

I understood you because I'm an english nerd, but a lot of people my age (and older) would have no clue. I guess it does make sense to put it in that way, it forces people to listen to you and actually take you seriously. I've never done it like that, I sort of tell people and explain slowly if they ask. If they don't, then I don't care.

My Dad: Doesn't know.
My Mum: Tells me I'm not pagan, and that it's just a phase.
My Mum's Girlfriend: Thinks it's cool, but is Catholic. A very loose following catholic.
My friends: Don't know.

^.^; My mum practices Western shamanic Paganism, and has since I was little, so of course she's fine with it. xD
Dad knows but we don't talk much. ^^;
My love knows of course .. XD
I'm blessed. Except for the occasional wandering Mormon I don't get Bibles tossed at me that often. XD
