Silas pondered the scroll once more and found another jutsu that seemed to be very helpful for him. Shadow Sewing(Kage Nui), the technique would allow Si's shadows to take physical form and throw objects, pierce into enemies, etc. Silas got into his crouch and performed the hand seals waiting for the technique to do it's work.

Silas watched as his shadow extended and two small tendrils came out of the ground and waved around like wobbly tentacles. Silas closed his eyes and focused on the chakra instead of on the hand seals. He also focused more on the chakra manipulation instead of the pouring of chakra into the technique. Although it may be a B ranked technique it was still a matter of the manipulation than the amount of chakra used.

Silas had sprouted one more tentacle from his shadow and he now practiced on a cacti patch about how to strike at a target with the needle-like shadows. Silas punctured one cactus by having the needle go into the cactus at an angle of a diagonal upward strike. The needles all punctured the cactus in different places and the water from the cactus all dripped and slid down the shadows.

Silas was growing weary of the technique. Si had called the technique off and tried again, this time focusing on growing more needles. Silas performed a string of hand seals and watched as four and a half shadow strings went for another cactus. The half a needle part was a small shadow sprouting off from a larger shadow needle. The first shadow punctured into the cactus and the other needles sprung up and struck the cactus from all around striking into the cactus at a downward diagonal angle.

Silas continued to perform the technique over and over again until he was determined that the technique was perfect. But what was he missing? Si no matter how many time he practiced could not figure out what he was missing to make the technique more powerful. He continued to practice until he ran out of chakra.

Taking a quick drink break Si took out a army jug and gulped down some tea that he had prepared from the night before. Silas then got back into his crouching position and started up the performance once more. Silas tried very hard to use the technique for piercing but then the thought hit him like a very big stick. What about whipping and lashing!

Silas started the technique up again and this time his shadow extended out to the cactus and then Silas switched the seal. The shadow shivered and then six tendrils came out of the ground and furiously lashed at the cactus. The shadows were hard enough to break the cactus with ease. Silas sighed as he had another technique complete. Now he just needed to wait for his friends for more gruesome training.
