User Image Deus' eyes narrowed as the nest came within sight. He could smell their stench even from the sky above...filthy creatures. He snorted, both to clear his nose of the offending odor and to gain his brother's attention. Leveling his wings out, he drifted just over Zutnic.

"Keep focused. Do not allow yourself to become distracted. Do not engage in a single combatant for too long. We are greatly outnumbered. We need only to provide distraction enough for their prisoners to make their escape." He turned his head to one side, his golden eyes settling on those of his sibling. "When you are ready, we begin our decent."

User Image"Understood!" Zutnic was well aware of how dangerous just one of these beasts were. His scar was proof of that.

Zutnic looked to the nest below. A ways off still, but it was time for them to attack. He made a quick note of the pathways as best he could before tucking his wings. With a loud shrill he begun his decent.

"KWEEEEEEEEEEEEE!"

A light rain begun to fall almost in perfect sync with the gryphon brother's decent. The storm was upon them.

[Going to presume that both Raa and Cel are around! They have the authority to gather any willing fighters, and the nannies can NPC their children. :3

Someone needs to bring the males to the caves; escaping males, you can choose to rebel now or later, when the gryphons land and there is CHAOS. Loyal males, you can choose to fight the rebelling males but it won't gain you any brownie points with the sisters so just be good. =p Also, one of Shikoba's baskets will be kidnapped in this RP; its planned, so no worries!]

"Aylin? Aylin is here?" If her sisters had never seen their Queen flustered before, this would be pretty close to what she looked like when she knew that something bad was going to happen. While Aviania still looked calm as she stood up and descended from her nest, there was urgency in her voice as she reared her head and called out for her friend, knowing that the Oracle's appearance could only mean that what the spirits had warned them about was about to happen. It was something that they could not stop, but if anything, they had prepared for it.

"Zahraa', Celaeno! Get yourself ready for battle - meet at the center of our territory and gather the guards! Spread the message, let our sisters know!" She knew that her commanders were nearby, but the nannies... They would have to get the children to safety! And she was sure that there was someone who was due tonight; what bad timing, but she would have to be protected! Females are most vulnerable when giving birth, after all.

"Nannies! Get the children to the caves at the back now! Protect them, they are our future!" She yelled repeatedly as she ran towards the Oracle, expecting everyone else to be going in the opposite direction towards the center while she moved towards the borders of their territory, "Get the males to the caves too - leave the stubborn ones behind. If they wish to die, so be it!" She was sure that the stallions could hear her; all the better... Give them a choice - to live or to die?

As she neared the territory border, she first spotted a blue Harpy, a Huntress with a kill on her back; judging from the expression on her face, Aviania guessed that she had been one of the first to hear the warning calls. Slowing to a stop in front of the mare, the Queen dismissed any greetings; this was no time for formalities!

"Luinil - go find Shikoba and assist her," She spoke quickly, gesturing towards the nesting area, "She probably just finished giving birth - help her get herself and her newborn to safety. Hurry, you must had heard the warning calls too... We have no time to lose!"

Without waiting for an answer, and assuming that Luinil got her instructions clearly, the brown Harpy continued to run towards where Aylin was coming from; it would be fine... They prepared for this!

"Aylin, come - they are waiting for us," She gestured for the Oracle to follow before changing directions and dashing off; hopefully, her Commanders had already gathered the rest.

Bounding over the last few of fallen trees, Aylins eyes caught sight of her dear friend. "Aviania!" she called out, her talons digging into the earth, trying to reach her friend and sisters. The spirits had warned them on Aviania's visit... and now they screamed in Aylin's head as she got closer.

"The great beasts are upon you!" she yelled as she took stride next to the Queen, her body bumping into Aviania as they ran back to the nesting grounds. Though Aylin had grown up in the temple, she had been trained to fight and she would not let her sisters perish without her.

"The duo that the spirits spoke of, they are strong, and they are here!" she panted. Tired from the run, she had not faltered, but she was hitting her second wind now. It was unsure how long she would last in the battle, but she would die to save her sisters, die to save her Queen.

As she reached the center grounds with Aviania, she waited for further instructions. She knew it was her duty to side with Aviania, to protect her while the commanders took charge of the sisters. She took this moment to catch her breath, her eyes on the sky waiting.

Suddenly, a bellowing screech caught her ears, her eyes caught sight of the green feathered beast jetting towards them. She turned, following his movements through the sky. Cursed creatures of flight....,

The calls of her sisters shattered the serene quiet of the forest, spreading silence punctuated by chirped cries of distress, attack. Raising to her feet, the pale mare moved along the jutting branch she'd been resting on, ears turning to pinpoint the farthest calls, and as it sounded again Zahraa' stiffened. "Aylin." If the oracle was here, the were indeed danger. The queen would be racing to the orcale's side already, and Raa' as commander needed to be close.

Her talons scored the bark of the trunk as she bond over it, connecting twice on her way down before simply leaping off the side to land gracefully beside her pet. "Hurry precious, we need to run." So dire was the situation, that the harpy didn't even wait for a confirmation, nor sign the stallion had heard her before sprinting forward towards the nesting ground. She could her queen now, calling orders to her trusted commanders and she rose her voice in an answering chirrup as she ran.

She could hear bells behind, but he didn't look back, couldn't look back. She had a job to to. "Cabriole, find Garuda! Find him and stay with him, and you'll be safe." The clawed male would keep him safe, keep him here.. hopefully. What if fought back, what if he ran? Pale ears snapped down, but she forced the concerns away tot he back of her mind. She needed to focus now.

As she reached the edge of the forest surrounding the central nesting ground she broke left, tracing the line of trees as her call rose up to all near sisters. Celaeno she knew would be doing the same. Calling the guards, anyone within ear shot, and that call said clearly "Come home, come fight!"

Cabriole fidgeted in spot, his hooves tramping at the ground with a jangling of his bells as he looked around. He could hear cries and the sharp screech of unseen creatures from the sky, which seemed to boil with dark clouds as thunder rumbled. His heart leaped into his throat and he bolted for the safezone, skittering to a nervous stop to keep himself from crashing into the beehive that had been set up for the sweet honey and protein enriched grubs before altering direction yet again, "GARUDA?!"

The honey colored stallion nearly staggered into the clawed stallion, "Garuda... the flocks under attack, I-I-I was sent here by Zahraa. She said to stay with you."

(Note: The beehive is from an established RP/rp plot scenario. biggrin Its up to you guys whether or not its used in the up coming battle in some way. <3)

Nodding quick acknowledgement of her queen's orders, Luinil spun on her back claws - dislodging her kill from her back for better maneuverability - and headed off towards the nesting area and Shikoba at top speed. Her heart thudded with her exertion as powerful muscles – already weary after a long arduous hunt - tensed and flexed, propelling her ever closer to her sister. She prayed to the spirits that she would be in time…

Leaves swirled around her as she skidded to a stop at Shikoba's side, staring in dismay at the sight of her normally strong sister so weak and vulnerable… Her eyes widened as she saw the two precious baskets in the shelter of their mother’s side. Luinil cursed the events that were turning what should be a day of blessed celebration at the increase of the harpy flock into a night of terror. “Sister," she panted, trying to catch her breath, "Let me help you get to the caves. You and the little ones will be better protected there. You may lean on me if you need…”

Glain's ears shot up that the call to duty. For a moment she could only look at the half a dozen foals before her. For just an instant all she could do was look into the terrified eyes. For a heart beat, Glain could not will herself to move. She only looked at the children and thought, "what do you want me to do?" It was not like she had not braced herself for such an order. She had tensed her muscles and gathered the foals into her nest to keep them safe and near her. Still, the sudden shock of the attack made her freeze for a split second. The moment passed however, and took the horrified paralysis with it. The terror was taken over by vague irritation. There had to be a better way to deal with this. Frightened children would only make this more difficult. She let the steely anger settle in her belly, if only to galvanize her forward. "You heard her Highness, loves. Let's get tot he caves?"
"But why Mistress?" Glain looked at the colt who had spoken. Glain only bit her lip and looked around.
"Because the Queen wills it. We need know nothing else." This was obviously not enough for the colt, but he obeyed Glain anyway, following her towards the caves.
It was not a far walk for any of them, the alarmed cries of her sisters effectively waking them all up. The foals quickly formed a small huddle near a back wall, all eye on Glain as she stood sentry by the mouth of the cave.
Glain's name made her ears p***k. She knew that stammer. She kenw it better than any voice she'd ever heard. Something dangerously akin to desperation claws at her throat. Whatever was out there, Shuckles was in the midst of all of it. Again, she was frozen with something between fear and anger. It was another moment before she could find her voice again.
"Shuckles." It was only a whisper at first, eyes wide, straining to see him in the distance. "Shuckles!" Her voice got louder until the foals behind her flinched at the sound of her voice. She could not leave the children, yet she could not bear to leave her mate behind.

It was as though the whole flock erupted into action at the screeches that filled the air. Garuda halted from his hurried pacing, his head jerking up into attenion to look around. The males around him shifted, all uneasy and unsure of what was going on. He watched as the Queen started barking orders, and it hit him. We're under attack? Garuda thought, his ears falling back. Who would be foolish? And now of all times? What luck. Garuda cursed under his breath, listening as the Queen demanded that the male's be sent to the cave and the threat of what would happen to those who didn't follow. Garuda could feel the unease of the other males. All of them were on their feet, a few more foolish males had already taken off running. Everything was happening so quickly- "Males!" Garuda called to attention, turning around fully to view the one's who stayed. "If you wish to stay, follow me to the caves. If not..." Garuda trailed off before turning around, not wishing to see who chose not to follow. He had made friends who would be taking leave today. Whether they escaped, or were slain by the harpies themselves. He would not fight or belittle any who chose to try and leave their flock.
"Let us go"

He set off towards the caves, the multiple stallions who chose to stay, close behind him. The cries above them grew louder, and Gaurda willed him mind to focus on his goal. Shikoba would already be safe in the caves by now. And with her, their newborn children. And when they arrived, he wouldn't leave her side.
"GARUDA?!"
He stopped, halting all of the other males in the process. That sounded just like- "Cabriole," Garuda smirked, backing up just in time to avoid running into the smaller stallion. It was good to know that his friend wouldn't be running off.
"And stay with me, you shall. We were just headed up to the caves, care to join us?" Not waiting for his friends answer, he continued on, knowing that Cabriole would follow close by. "We must keep our eyes out for stragglers. Not everyone will know their way to the caves," He announced, continuing on the path ahead of them.

His feeling of worry increased when he heard the command to send the stallions to the caves, something was happening and he still had not caught sight of the blue mare. Fear and worry gripped the stallion, everything was happening so fast and he could not catch sight of the icy harpy he had come to care about, she was nowhere to be seen.

Casting one more look around the area, he silently followed the other males, barely listening to the stallions, but still retaining the words that they spoke, for he was still a detective, even there was no need for that here in the den of the harpies. The detective side of the stallion was curious to why and what had caused the harpies to go into action, but he knew that with time all the answers would be revealed, so he resided within in himself and let patience take over.

Wystan looked up when he heard the comment, he was one of those who did not know where the caves were; he had not been a slave for as long as others and he does not regret his decision; Anya was a fascinating mare who always seemed to keep him on the tip of his hooves. Soon the winged stallion noticed that he was lagging behind the other stallions, caught up in his own thoughts, quickly he set forward to catch up with the line of stallions.

(( Because this has been going on for so long and no one would want their characters tied, I'm putting in a summary at the 'Okay' of Dragain.

Pretty much, The gryphon brothers cause a huge ruckus fought to free what slaves they could ( Anyone on the freed slave list ) and escaped just as they were starting to become overwhelmed. Zutnic was brought down by one of the harpies ("Aviania ninja'ed Zutnic" - Dragain), his wing broken.

And from there life happens again :3 ))
