We had to march at Disney World last year, and in my immeasurable wisdom I forgot to wear sunscreen to a water park the day before we had to march in the parade. Needless to say, I had a huge sunburn down both shoulders that made my skin feel like leather. Also, I have to carry a Sousaphone, so it had to rest on my most badly burned shoulder the whole parade. I spent the whole parade trying not to pass out from the pain... crying

The worst thing... Well, we had a performance and the Trumpet passed out in the middle of the show. 0.0

well this wasn't during a performance, but right before hand the tuba player dropped his tube & needed to grab a last minute sousa & it didn't fit him & the pic is in the year book, but at our last performance a baritone player stepped on a trombone player. our catching guard equipment w/your face, like maybe a sabra in your eye while warming up for indoor finals, or maybe a rifle w/your nose during a comp.

either turning the wrong way in the first visual of the show or (this wasn't me but still) a snare player lost their plume in like the opener, but to recover all of the battery took out their plumes too. mrgreen

freshman year my foot was stepped on by my section leader who was a varsity wrestler and weighed multiple times my weight during GSL(Greater St. Louis marching festival, largest in our area and probably the state) and i fell. luckily it was turf so it was very soft and i basically rolled back up and got back in my spot in the same move. unfortunately it was on the DVD we got.

This wasnt the worst, maybe the funniest. But it wasnt during a performance, but right before.
We were warmign up alsyt year for UofA band day, and we were running part of oru show. well, me and the bari sax player were marching next to eachother and a guard girl had to pass betweern us while spinning her flag. As she passed, the alumni that were obaserving that went to Uofa started laughing. I'm just like "Er, wth? did i do soemthign weird?" Becaus ethey wereointing in the fdirection of me and the bari sax player. We stopped after that and were told to go abck. Apparently, the flag had hit the bari saxs plume and it had flown off. my old sL, one of the alumni, commented that she had never seen anythign like that before lol.

Haha, something similar happened in our band. We don't have colorguard, but there's spirit guys who have big flags they wave around, and one guy got a little too close to a trombone. The flag caught the spit valve and the slide went flying off into the crowd. Luckily the spirit committee paid to repair the trombone...

During a football game my drum major asked to borrow my mouthpiece,i handed it to him but when he was cleaning it,it slipped out of his hand and fell in the water drain.I had to sit out the whole game and me and Kenny(the drum major) ended up getting in trouble since we didn't have any french horn mouthpieces and it was Mr.V's(one of my band directors)mouthpiece(which i didn't know about)

Let's see. During our performance, the same person that stepped on our ramp (earlier post) got hit in the head with a flag and got a concusssion. After our home show performance, our Drum Majors led us into the 20 yard marker and we killed it.

My marching band stuff never fits me. One time, my gauntlets came off immediately after we left the field. Another time, my bib strap fell down below my shoulder, and it locked my arm in place during the show.

At uofA band day this year, one of our guard lost their skirt. Luckily, they were wearing spandex underneath.
