Calcifer sighed as she peered over the bank and at the water as it flowed gently down the river. It was hard enough that she was a Fire type with an odd adoration of water, but unlike some Fire types that could at least go partially into the stuff, she was made out of liquid fire and rock. It was impossible to go in without harming herself in some way. Oh how she wished that she could go swimming, just once. Was that too much to ask?
She sighed as she slithered along the river back. Yes, it was too much to ask. She could hardly keep still without her magma body starting to cool down and harden, so plopping herself into even the warmest of water would spell doom for her, and even then she'd much rather dip herself into cooler water, just for the want to figure out what coolness felt like. True coolness, not what her firey molten body perscieved as cool. She wanted to stand out in the rain during a thunderstorm and just let the cool water drift down her body instead of hiding and praying she did not harden while she waited for the storm to pass.
Her head peered up to see where along the river she was. Ah, around the bend was her favorite berry plant, a Starf Berry plant. It was hard to to find Starf berries, and it was even harder to grow them, but Calcifer had found herself one bush that seemed to always have at least one ripe berry waiting for her.
As she turned 'round the bend, she caught sight of something strange. It...it seemed to be a younger looking human dressed like a Jirachi. It seemed that it even styled it's hair to look like the star thing on the legendary pokemon's head. She tilted her head. She had no real issues with humans for the most part, but something that the human was doing made her already melancholy day more so.
It, she could not tell if it were male or female, was picking what few berries her Starf plant had on it's branches. She even watched as the Jirachi cosplayer plucked the last one off and placed it into the basket it was carrying.
"My berries!" she whined before giving a sorrowful sigh. To her surprise, the human turned around all of a sudden to look at her.
"Oh! I'm so sorry! Are these yours?" he asked. That was a male voice...or so she was pretty sure. Humans were weird though...
"H...huh? Wait... can you understand me?" She was confused. She was pretty sure humans didn't understand what pokemon were saying.
"Of course I can!" he chirped. "I'm a pokemon too! Or well..." he paused for a moment as if he were thinking. "I'm sort of still a pokemon? I was a normal Jirachi but now I'm this!" He sat down the basket of berries in front of her. "Anyway I am very sorry I took your berries...I didn't know they belonged to anybody..."
Calcifer shook her head. "They aren't technically mine either. It's just the only Starf plant anywhere near here is all. It's what I get for having a rare berry as my favorite food..." she said with a sigh. "I know they're hard to come by, so you can have them. I'll just wait for them to grow more."
The Jirachi...thing tilted his head to think, or at least it looked to Calci that he was thinking. She could have been wrong.
"Well," he said finally before sitting down next to her, picking out one of the berries and handing it to her. "How about we share them together?"
Calcifer took a bite out of the berry before grinning. "That sounds lovely," she said. "I'm Calcifer by the way."
"Oh! I am Ialu!"
