Morin looked around and noticed the pile of gold. It must have been what had caught his attention up in the sky. Of course apparently it also belonged to another. He let half a thought to start a fight for it but decided it wasn’t worth the effort. The two female modifoxes seemed like they would put up quite a fight. He wondered if they thought he was going to take it as well.
“Name and purpose in these parts huh” Morin said dryly. “well boredom, I saw the gold and wanted to check it out. Don’t worry though I’m not here to steal it.” He said but also knew they didn’t know him all that well and he could lie as well as he could tell the truth, even though in this case he was leaning towards honesty at the moment. “As for my name… It’s Morin”. He quickly drew off half of his attention to notice there seemed to be a new addition to the area, although she had been around since he had landed. Finally he shifted his full attention back on the vixens in front of him.

Aekea stood silently, watching the Modiphim as he answered the other vixen's question. 'So the gold had attracted him here, as well,' she thought. She placed the chinchilla's carcass and the ground in front of her, before looking back at the other foxes. She didn't care too much for it, it was only a small rodent.

"I suppose it's my turn," Aekea started as the Modiphim, apperently called Morin, finished. "My name is Aekea, I've been living in these parts for a while now, not far from here." She indicated to the general direction she had been walking to before noticing the pile of gold. Aekea turned back to them. "And your names?" She said questioningly, glancing between the two vixens. It may have sounded a little impertinent, but what did it matter? She didn't know them, and was not olbigated to paying ant certain respects.

Amali knew she was getting closer because the scent of the vixen she was following had stopped moving and was getting stronger. She had been tracking the black and white vixen since she had made her getaway. The vixen had something she wanted. Amali cared not that the strange haired vixen had stolen the goods, just that the vixen had stolen one that she had been eying for some time now.

The black and plum vixen reached the entrance of the vixens hide out shortly after a 'Phim and another black and white vixen had finished introducing themselves. She had been within hearing distance when the black and tan vixen, also with weird hair, give name and purpose instructions so she figured she would cut to the chase and save the vixen time repeating herself. Amali dropped the small sack she carried filled with loot of her own. It contained some of her favorite and most shiny pieces.

"Amali. You have something I want." She turned away from the black and tan vixen to the one she had followed. "The goods you stole earlier. Silver bracelet with the emeralds." She pawed the sack at her feet open giving the other vixen a glimps of the jewels and metals inside. "A trade?" She smiled, hoping the thief before her wouldn't be to hard to haggle.

A 'Phim landed, then the other black and white vixen made her presence known. Avaritia knew that someone had been lurking around here, but since the other had not been a problem, Avaritia had never felt the need to seek the other vixen out. Times had obviously changed, but this vixen had food with her, and Avaritia did not wish to make any more enemies today, especially not after her raid of the human market, and especially if the fox in question could become an asset.

She looked over at the 'Phim, Morin, as he spoke, eyes displaying a mild interest. "Boredom, eh? If you're so 'bored', why do you stay?" she asked, casting a cursory glance at the pile of gold, which was a little more subtle hint at what she meant. She then directed her attention to the other female with the chinchilla carcass by her paw, listening to her name and purpose, nodding. However, when Aekea asked them of their names, her eyes narrowed slightly, showing a certain disapproval of the other vixen's tone, though she stayed quiet, still not wanting to make any more enemies today. However, Avaritia was not inclined to give any of these newcomers her name. She did not know if they would be sticking around, or if they would leave and word would spread about her and Nefertiti's location. "Adrian," she lied, though her deception was undetectable. Lying had become second nature for Avaritia, as it was for any successful thief.

Avaritia's gaze then flicked over to another newcomer. This one was a plum and black vixen, decorated much like Nefertiti and herself. She also carried a bag, the all too familiar jingling of metal sounding from within it. Interest sparkled faintly in her eyes. Her suspicions were confirmed as the vixen, Amali, spoke: someone had been following her, but Avaritia was too pleased with her stolen goods to care much at the time. After all, the follower was not threatening her in any way at the time, and she still was not. She listened to her proposition, then chuckled lightly, smirking. "And what do you have to trade for such a piece, Amali?" she asked, looking down at her pile. She quickly found the item in question, gently resting a paw on it. Avaritia was not one to trade, especially not for something she could simply steal.

Morin smirked and tilted his head to the side “ah yes that is a good question. Do I stay because this seems like a good way to pass the time, do I stay because it is easier to despair away in boredom with company. Who knows except for the modeities and my self? Unfortunately you have used up your free questions for the day and I feel really no need to answer. I am not one to talk so openly about motives or my self in general. However I do not mean you any harm what so ever” he looked over at the newest female vixen and inwardly smiled, so many girls could make a male feel insecure being the only one. Fortunately Morin was not of that sort and had no care to what gender you where, the fact that his suspicions where confirmed and they where in fact thieves just made the situation all the more interesting in his opinion.

User ImageKylar padded on silent feet through the forrest, stopping briefly to drink from a small stream. He had decided to strike out on his own now that he was grown...mostly...sorta. Wrinkling his nose at his still mostly kit features, he noticed something winking at him from the bottom of the stream. Reaching a paw out, he carefully scooped the sparkly towards him, and found a small nugget of pure gold. As he admired his new treasure, his sensitive ears picked up a multitude of voices.

Curiousity getting the best of him, Kylar picked up his nugget of gold and followed his ears to find a small gathering of foxes, one of them huge. He recognized the winged fox as an older version of Prelude, though this fox was obviously not the kit he had played with once. There were also three vixens with odd hair and tons of jewlery, and a black and white vixen. Dropping to his belly, he crawled forward quietly to get a better view. That's when he caught sight of the pile of gold. Kylar had never seen so much wealth in his life and his jaw dropped, the gold in his mouth hitting the ground with a heavy sound and rolling a few inches away from him.

Nefertiti rolled her eyes visibly at the Phim's response. Already she could tell that if Ava let him stay around that he would make her want to pull her hair out. But as long as he wasn't trying to steal their bounty, she could ignore him for the moment.

The female, Aekea, had asked for their names. Her attitude was annoying, but not enough to really ruffle Nefertiti's feathers. "Naomi," she lied just as smoothly as her friend. It was tempting to tell her to go live somewhere else, but she ha dnoticed the small game too. It was something Nefertiti herself could have caught with little trouble, but why do it if they could have someone else do it? Perhaps they could entice this female into staying. She was certainly less annoying than Morin.

Avaritia began handling the other vixen interested in a trade, so Nefertiti kept an eye on the others...and something behind them.

Oh, by Loki where were all these foxes coming from? She would have been okay with seeing one strangers today. Growling lowly in frustration, Neferitit decided it was high time to call out the youngish-looking fox who'd been trying to spy on them.

"Oi, you! You're as loud as a hungry bear, haul yourself over here." Time to see what his motivation was.

Amali's smile broadened when she saw 'Adrian' rest her paw on the bracelet she was after. It was much easier to find than she had expected. This had to be her lucky day. It had been all to easy to take in the vixens hide out through her peripheral vision. Amali had taken note of the exit and the layout of the place in no time without taking her eyes off of the situation in front of her. All the new foxes had 'Naomi' distracted so that only left 'Adrian' to observe her and though she thought 'Adrian' was clever, she didn't think the vixen knew of her plan for stealing the bracelet. Of course, Amali did hope to trade first and only save stealing for if she couldn't get what she wanted. Now that she knew where her prize was all she had to do was figure out how to get to it. If she couldn't trade for it, she only needed 'Naomi' to fall asleep and 'Adrian' to go on another loot mission and it would be hers. Or if these other foxes stayed, perhaps she could con them into stealing it for her. Either way, it didn't matter. It would be hers.

"Hm." Amali looked 'Adrian' over a few times trying to figure out what the vixen would like most in return for her bracelet. The black and white vixen obviously preferred silver. She didn't seem to like to many jewels or stones though. Amali thought for a minute before pawing through the items in her back. She dug out a silver necklace with a piece of black onyx hanging from it and laid it in front of her. The black and plum vixen looked from the necklace to 'Adrian' knowing she didn't have to speak for the vixen to understand her offer.

The vixen raised an eyebrow at Morin, then laughed. "A poet, eh? Listen, there's no reason to be eloquent. Wordiness is annoying," she snickered. "And for the record, you are in our land and are not entitled to such insolence." Her voice sounded untroubled, carrying the same teasing tone that it had before, though her eyes were serious and cold as she spoke the latter statement, then lightened up once again when she was finished. She was not going to tolerate anyone tromping over she or Nefertiti, or the land they had called home. And she was a fairly amiable fox, just detested for her thievery.

She then turned to the other vixen, her eyes falling to the silver necklace she offered. She eyed it for a few moments, before looking back up at Amali. "No deal," she stated flatly. It was pretty, yes, but Avaritia already wore a necklace, not to mention gold and emeralds was worth much more than silver and onyx, and despite the triviality of worth in the Modifox world, Avartia paid heed to it.

Avaritia then cast a glance over at Nefertiti, then redirected her attention to Amali once again. "However," she began, gaze meeting that of the other vixen, "I am willing to give it to you as a gift, should you choose to stay... or not. I'll give it to you either way." She gently nudged the bracelet over to Amali, showing that her offer was legitimate. She would not care if Amali simply left after attaining her prize, but three thieves was better than two, and the small pile would grow at a faster rate. She then gandered at the other newcomers. Four foxes would make the growth rate even greater, and five or six even more than that. Not to mention it would be lovely to have some more foxes around, despite the fact that two of them had slightly irked her. She would not mind their presences after a while, and she was well aware that Nefertiti would not object to the company either.

Oops, caught. Kylar wriggled out of his hiding place, giving the fox who identified herself as 'Naomi' a sheepish smile before picking up his nugget of gold and moving forward...cautiously. He moved sideways a little, going towards the other foxes, rather than encroaching on the pile of gold.

feeling like he was close enough for the vixen that had caught him, but not close enough to be threatening, Kylar sat and dropped his treasure. "I heard voices, so I came to see what was going on." He explained, going straight to the point.

He knew he probably should have apologized for the intrusion...but he'd specifically came to see what was going on, so why apologize when he did it on purpose?

“No not a poet, more like I have spent the last few months around a rather insolent Daeva. He must have rubbed off on me more than I would have liked. However since this is your place. I shall keep that in mind then” Morin stated before nodding. There was no reason to piss too many people off when entering their lands. He had warned them not to expect too much information about him and would presumably go from there if he chose to stay.
He finally turned towards the source of the noise he had earlier and watched as another fox came out of ‘hiding’ with slight amusement Morin smirked as he realized it was a male. Well eventually another one would have come along. He wondered if the younger male was a thief in nature as well as he seemed to be carrying a small nugget of gold. No, Morin mused. More like he seemed to enjoy shiny things. If he was a thief Morin suspected his small nugget would be bigger and be accompanied by many more shinny things.

Now this was a surprise. The vixen was just going to hand over her prize for nothing in return? At least if she had traded she would have gotten something out of it. Why on earth would she just give it away? Despite how much Amali, wouldn't understand the other vixens motives for handing over the piece of jewelry. Surely there had to be a catch of some sort. Thieves didn't just give things away. Regardless of her reasonings, Amali reached for the silver bracelet, a little too eager to have it in her grasp.

"What's the catch," Amali said cautiously, looking from 'Adrian' to 'Naomi' then back to 'Adrian', "If I stay?"

The whole thing could be a trap. The duo could be planning to steal her loot one night while she slept. They knew her scent now, they could be planning on tracking her. Amali tried not to let the paranoia set in while she waited for an answer. A part of her hoped that it wasn't a trap and that the duo was accepting her into their group. It would be nice to be around other thieves. She could probably pick up a few new tricks from them and she wouldn't have to worry about being lonely. Not that she'd ever admit that to anyone.

Nefertiti cast a bemused look on the male. "Well, now ya see what's goin' on, kid. 'S yer name?" He didn't have the look of any master thief. He barely looked to Nef like he could stand on all four feet and talk at the same time. But maybe there was some hidden potential in there.

If not...eh, she and Ava could handle him.

"Yer on tribe territory now, love." Not an official tribe, but why'd he'd need to know? "So's a good explanation a yer name and purpose is good for keepin' yer life 'round here."
PostPosted: Sun Dec 12, 2010 1:51 pm

Kylar snorted at the death threat, he couldn't help it. There was only two of them...well, maybe three, he thought as he shot a glance at the purple striped female. Still, fighting was not what he came here for. Besides, his name would tell them nothing, so why not give it? Using his kit features, he grinned and made himself seem guileless.

"My name...you can call me Kylar." He said, tail curling around his front paws. "And I don't have a purpose. I'm out here to find one. So I guess my purpose is to find my purpose, I suppose. Shouldn't take too long, I don't think. I'm good at finding things." After all, he'd found this place, hadn't he?
