"Hmm." Aila considered the words carefully. She was not particularly fond of the idea that those around her would judge her or make assumptions about her person based solely on the fact that she was taught to treat others with a degree of respect and etiquette. Truly, if she was better than anyone, it was because she had worked to that end and deserved to be so. She could only hope that Citrine was correct in her concluding words. Leonard had suggested much the same, and though Aila could call up the vocabulary necessary to base speech, she stumbled over its use. More time, perhaps, would see her to her success...

Somewhere amidst Aila's quiet contemplation, Revenant decided she had had enough of being confined to her pokeball and chose to free herself, a burst of light from the girl's hip indicating this. "Dreeeaa," she sighed, rose-tipped hair surging around her as if to preen itself.

The small Rocket regarded her ghost with an initial surprise that soon evolved into a scalding glare, "Do you have any intent to behave yourself, Revenant?"

"Misdrea," she dismissed the warning nonchalantly. She wearied of her human's constant admonitions, but she would conduct herself responsibly if it meant a breath of fresh air.

Citrine had to look down as the ghost appeared. She still didn't care for them. She could accept Nornsteen. Nornsteen was her friend, and the white ghost would do... it seemed just about anything for her.

"If your pokemon like, I'm sure I have enough sandwiches for them to have one as well. It isn't much, but I'll share it if it's alright with you to feed them."

The Misdreavus noticed Citrine's discomfort and smirked to herself. It seemed there would be some fun to be had after all...

"I would not mind, but I am not sure she would accept it," Aila replied, casting a wary glance in the pokemon's direction, oblivious to her scheming. "Misdreavus prefer to feed on fear. Or this particular one does, at least." Even so, she beckoned that Revenant be courteous and gestured to her, "Come, do not behave so standoffishly. One cannot flourish in forever keeping to oneself."

Revenant grudgingly obliged, coming only slightly closer and scrutinizing Citrine with large, unblinking eyes.

Citrine forced herself to smile, and offered the ghost a sandwich. "Um... if you like, you can have this." She said, trying not to sound nervous. Nornsteen picked up on her trainer's nerves, and wrapped her disembodied hands around the girl's shoulders and looked at the Misdreavus as if to say 'this is my human, and I'll kill you if you try anything.'

By this time, Bingo had gotten kind of bored, and the pidgy hopped around on the table, and tried pecking at the basket Citrine had which made the girl squeak. "Bingo! Be patient."

"Pi!" Came the hungry reply. Citrine sighed and shook her head. She shrugged Nornsteen off her shoulders and gently pet the blue pidgy.

"So Aila, are you new around here? Or... um... I don't know." she laughed. "I get so lost in Kodo. Does that happen to you? I swear I keep walking around the same two cities all the time..."

Revenant inwardly scoffed the Haunter's gesture. What was that if not a challenge? For the moment, though, she would behave 'properly' in a bid to garner trust. That should please her human as well, she considered idly. The Misdreavus performed a small twirl, her skirt-like body billowing with the motion, before approaching the offered food. She sniffed at it briefly to identify its contents and was disgusted to find it entirely devoid of emotion, as one might expect of any purchased item. Regardless of its anticipated lack of flavor, though, the ghost accepted the sandwich. She was sure her trainer would insist that it was the polite thing to do anyway.

Aila, meanwhile, was mildly surprised that Revenant was complying so willingly. Perhaps their training together was paying off after all...? She was distracted from the thought by Citrine's voice. "Ah, no, I am merely taking advantage of the good weather to travel a bit. I live in Camphoreon, actually," she replied without missing a beat. It was a lie that required little thought since it had been truth until only recently. "You are on a trainer's adventure, then?" It was a safe assumption, she felt. The girl seemed young enough, and Aila could think of few other purposes that would send one walking about from city to city.

"Your... You're actually a really pretty ghost." Citrine said hesitantly to the Misdreavus. She still didn't care for ghosts, but Nornsteen was sort of an exception to that general dislike. But she would be friendly, and try and like this pokemon. After all, she hadn't done anything wrong.

With the sandwich in the care of the pokemon now, Citrine turned back to Aila. "It's nice to be able to travel while the weather's still nice. It's going to suck when it starts raining... I should go home for the winter. We might get a day of rain at most there. I'm afraid of how cold it will be here." She rambled a little then smiled. "Ah! Sorry, yeah, I'm sort of doing a trainer's journey. There aren't any gyms in Kodo, but it's been good to come here and train. There are a lot of pokemon here that I can't see back home. Maybe I should catch some pokemon here, then go and take on the gyms at home." She thought about that a bit before shrugging.

"I can worry about that later. Hey Aila? Does it get cold in Camphoreon in the winter?"

Revenant bristled and inclined her head away from Citrine, taken aback by the unexpected compliment. She would not allow herself to be taken in, though. Humans were innately vicious, domineering beasts who would sooner crack the whip for a slight misstep than praise an impressive triumph.

"Where is your home, if I may ask?" Aila said, voicing the mildly curiosity that had taken hold as she tried to place a location that would fit the trainer's description. In response to the girl's own query, she considered briefly the many winters she had seen in the city before offering her reply, "Not unbearably so. Larger cities such as Camphoreon tend to remain warmer for longer, and its proximity to the desert lends much to its climate as well. I believe it snowed last year, though. Or perhaps that was the year before..."

Aila's question drew her attention away from the ghost, who she was not sure if she just made it angry or not. "Oh, I'm from the Areno region*" She replied happily. "It's pretty warm there all year round." She looked up at the sky as it filtered through a near by tree's leaves. "It's already cooler here then it usually gets back home. But this is really quite an experience! I wonder if I'll see snow while I'm here." It might have been something childish to hope for, but in all her 11 years of life, she hadn't ever seen snow, and she thought it would be fun, just once, to get to see it, play in it.

*Yeah, totally made up place. It would equate to Egypt in our world.

"Ahh," Aila voiced her interest. "It must be nice to be able to visit such a faraway land." She had seen trainers wandering Camphoreon and had perhaps even envied them. Kodo was small, but it was abound with places the girl had yet to see. She could not imagine exploring a place as far as an entirely different region.

She laced her fingers together and rested her chin on the cradle that was created. "The falling snow is lovely, to be certain. I would love to travel to the mountains during the winter and see the thick blankets that cover the area. Camphoreon barely sees a dusting if she sees anything at all..." Aila had had the same childlike fascination on seeing her first snow, but she had been quickly disillusioned. It gathered only in the thinnest layers and melted quickly; Camphoreon's snow was scarcely the wintry beauty illustrated in magazines and television programs.

Citrine had to think about that a moment. "It is kind of nice... being able to get away from home and see the world. I'd always thought I'd love to go to Sinnoh, I hear they have a good deal of snow." She folded her arms, contemplating. "We should go to the mountains together." It seemed like a sound idea. "That way, we can both see the snow."

While the girls were chatting, Bingo, Citrine's pidgy, had gotten rather bored. He'd finished pecking at the food Citrine had gotten out- it wasn't his, but he was hungry- and now he was looking around. That tree looked like a fine place to perch. With a few flaps of his wings, disturbing some of the items on the table, Bingo was in the air and heading to the branches. Citrine called to the bird to come back, but the branches were just too perfect. He settled on a slightly flimsy bough first, shaking it fiercely, sending leaves scattering below him. Not a good place to land. He hopped about the tree to find the perfect roost, shaking free leaves and the tree's inhabitance.

Seeing Bingo wasn't going to come down, Citrine decided that was ok for now. She could call him back when they were done eating. She turned back to Aila just as something landed on the table between the two.

"Shedinja..."

"Perhaps we could," Aila said with a concise nod. She was hesitant to fraternize with non-Rockets on anything of a regular basis, but it was at least preferable to visiting her mountains on her own. Besides, perhaps if she could lull Citrine into a sense of security, she could make that beautiful blue Pidgey her own...

It was an impressive coincidence that the Pidgey took to flight, roosting in a nearby tree and shaking loose the first indications of fall, as soon as Aila conceived her idea. She turned her attention back to her meal and her company to find that something had claimed a place between them, a little brown thing with flat wings on its back and small horns protruding from its head. It took her a moment to register exactly what the thing was, but it was evident when she did. Aila stood suddenly and backpedaled with a distressed shout, nearly stumbling in her haste.

"Revenant! Kill it!" the thief cried, an indicative finger locked on the bug.

Kill-It? The Misdreavus didn't know any attacks by that name. She regarded her human with a confused expression.

Spotting the bug, as Aila back peddled away from the table, Citrine moved to slap it away, only to have her hand move through it. "G... G.... GYAH!" she started shaking her hand. "Oh my Giratina, it's a ghost!" At his trainer's shriekings, Bingo couldn't help but look down at what was happening. He tilted his head this way and that, hopping around the tree more, shaking free more shedinja. Pretty soon, the ghostly bugs were falling from the tree more then the leaves.

"NORNSTEEEEEEEEEEEEEEN!" She flailed at her only available pokemon. The albino haunter rolled her eyes a little. "Do something! Anything... ... Shadow punch!"

Now that was something she could work with. Nornsteen punched the bug.

Aila wrapped her hands over her head to defend from the falling menaces and snatched her second pokeball from her belt, releasing a bewildered Ivysaur unto the scene.

"Fleur, Sleep Powder! Or Sweet Scent! Or Razor Leaf! Something!"

Fleur tilted her head in confusion. Which one, she wondered? Judging from the situation, perhaps Sleep Powder would be best. "Saur, iveee," she warned coolly before saturating the air in a cloud of spores.

Revenant wrapped her hair around the cover her mouth. The park's other occupants seemed highly amused by the whole situation. It was all absolutely mortifying. The Misdreavus had half a mind to use Mean Look and lock the children in battle with the Shedinja until one side fell.

Nornsteen covered her mouth with one hand and the other clasped over Citrine's as the sleep powder took effect on some of the bugs. As the dust settled, the Ninjask who hadn't succumbed to sleep powder were on the move, heading towards all three pokemon they saw as a threat.

The danger of falling asleep passing, Nornsteen released her trainer's face. "ICE PUNCH!" Citrine shouted, backing away from the bugs.

"I have had enough of this." Well, seeing a picture of a Shedinja in a book would have been enough for Aila. "Fleur, Razor Leaf! Revenant, Psywave!"

The two pokemon were growing tired of it as well; it was discomforting for their calm and collected trainer to act in such a frenzy. They obliged, spreading the affected range of their respective attacks as much as possible in an attempt to strike more than one of the bugs at a time each.
