Though her smile had originally been bright, it now dimmed with the little poke at her name. Why... No one had ever said anything about the NON-poisonous plant that shared her name. In fact, right now she very considered it an insult for the OTHER name was very much NOT POISONOUS. And by Jack she was down right venomous!
"Wow. That's quite a long name. You earn all those or did you just steal them?" Below the belt? Perhaps, but she was just showing off her venomous nature. (What a joke that was, but she didn't want this stranger to think she was like that little human flower, so weak and just pretty! She was pretty AND scary!!) "And, um, its Belladonna Divine... Not that there are other Belladonna's running around, but just for... knowing's sake I suppose."
"Wait! You're not from this world?" She asked, screwing her face into a strange mixture of a frown and a pout. Maybe that was why he talked to himself and had such a funny, unreadable mind? And now he was introducing her to his tools? What was this strange boy, this Valen this-- OH! Totally invading all protocols regarding personal space Belladonna bounded forward, a small hand catching the silver sliver and holding it in her palm.
"What did this use to be? And hello Ms. Sally, its a pleasure to meet you. All of you really!!" Putting as much enthusiasm into her voice as possible, it was necessary to play along with this game Valen was constructing. Calling it a game was really unfair, but to Belladonna it seemed like a game, something fun to pass the time when on was alone, but very likely to Valen it was a coping mechanism. All types made up Halloweentown and it was somewhat a mission to accept them. This might be one of those challenging cases.
"Can I.... Ask you a rather personal question?" Belladonna asked, turning to pick up the scissors she spied a few feet away. There was NO WAY she was picking up a syringe, she'd heard tales of girls being kidnapped by mad scientists and sewn together with undead bits for fun. "Its about... Um, well, your head..." Maybe that wasn't the best way to word that...

Belladonna's remark about Valentino's name was quite lost upon him and so he started to answer her rhetorical question "How does one steal a name? My name is a collection of hereditary titles, my godfather's name, and the patriarchal & matriarchal families I am descended from." If only he could remember who his family was, (or anything else about the his old life) he would've attempted to explain it in more detail to Belladonna.
At Belladonna's remark about his off-world origins, Valentino tried his best to answer. "Yes I am undead, that means I was once a-" Suddenly Belladonna was upon him, more specifically, upon Mr. M.
"M-Mr. M. is part of a much larger machete." Valentino struggled to answer her new question. He was also struggling to not go into a panicked fit as Belladonna continued to hold Mr. M. He was the only link Valentino had to his soul, and as soon as Belladonna released Mr. M., Valentino quickly put Mr. M. under his shirt.
It was clearly apparent that Belladonna wouldn't stop asking Valentino questions, neither would she stop to let him answer. The minute he tried to answer one of her questions, she would ask another. Now she wanted to ask him a 'Personal question'? She had already been as personal with Valentino as he had ever been with someone, no-one else had ever held Mr. M.
"My head? what about my head? is there something broken?" Valentino quizzically asked as he picked up a few of his syringes. They were mercifully still intact. "Also, where is your cat? I was going to apologize to him with a dead mouse, don't cats like dead mice?" Valentino asked while he picked up the last syringe before Belladonna stepped on it.

If Belladonna had known the great personal wall she had stormed, destroyed and then pillaged the village within, she certainly would never had touched Mr. M. But she hadn't know that, so she touched him, let it go and watched with curious eyes as Valen hastily put the necklace back into his shirt. A machete? How odd, but then again, everything about this person was odd (mostly his mind!) so Belladonna didn't think much of it as she usually would have. And goodness, he hadn't caught her little stab at his name, but perhaps that was for the best because she didn't really want to come across rude!
"There's not something broken!" I don't think... "Its just that... You have more than one voice in there. But its not as strong as your regular one. Um! Does that makes sense?" She turned at his second question, looking around for Binx. "Oh, he's a big scaredy cat and probably went back to my room. I leave the window cracked for him so he can get in when I'm not there." Shoot! I shouldn't have said that. Very bad, very bad. What if he decided to break into my room now?! Wait, her room was pretty high up and it would be silly of him to climb all the way up there just to get into her room. Well, still!
"Anyways. As a witch I have good intuition and sometimes I can hear people's thoughts. Not very well, but enough, if I concentrate. But you... Your other voice is very faint... Odd..." She trailed off, a hand coming to touch her mouth as she thought it over. Why, of all the people she had met thus for, this Valen certainly had to be the most curious... Which of course made him all the more interesting... Very curious...

At Belladonna's words, about other voices in Valentino's head, something started to ring true in Valentino's mind. He wasn't sure what, but he almost had his finger upon it, why did Belladonna think he heard other voices?
Right as that thought crossed his mind, all the tools started to shout in unison, "NO no no! Nothing is wrong with your head." Their yelling was deafening. Forgetting everything, Valentino clapped his hands over his ears. Valentino winced as he felt something akin to pain, their shouts were about to burst his eardrums.
It didn't stop there however, everyone continued to yell, but their new message took a darker tone, "If that witch doesn't stop snooping, there will be consequences."
"But Belladonna's trying to help, I don't think her actions warrants violence on my part." Valentino meekly tried to reminded everyone. The whole situation was becoming very disturbing, even for Valentino. Something was bothering his friends, and they were being very protective, not only of him, but of themselves. As the volume of their shouting decreased, Valentino increasingly becoming annoyed. They were still yelling, but their once organized message was becoming jumbled as everyone tried to say something different. This was Valentino's moment, not only to defend Belladonna, but for him to assert his authority. "You are all my friends, but Belladonna is my friend as well; and I'm not going to hurt her just because she is trying to help." Valentino confidently asserted.
Suddenly, Valentino momentarily lost control over his left arm, the one that possessed Sally. By its own volition, his left arm shot out, Sally's tip pointing right at Belladonna. Valentino thought he heard Sally menacingly hiss at Belladonna.
As quickly it had started, the cacophony of shouts and threats ceased. Valentino had control of his arm again, and the woods were silent. Valentino took a step away from Belladonna feeling dizzy for a short moment.
Valentino then realized that he couldn't remember what had bothered everyone so much, the whole experience had been wiped from his memory. The only thought that Valentino could remember from the past few moments was, 'Belladonna shouldn't ask me about my head.'
Trying to salvage his conversation with Belladonna, Valentino switched subjects to one of the few things from their conversation that didn't bother anyone, "So you like gardening too?" He asked, flashing her the best smile he could muster.

And then it made sense.
Belladonna let out a short, choke shriek as she jumped back from the tip of the shovel pointed at her. Instinct took over and she was poised on her toes, her pupils widened as she was ready to dash off as quickly as possible if need be. But as quickly as the shovel had been pointed at her, it was lowered and the voices stemming from Valen dimmed. They were a sound she hadn’t ever quite heard before, something menacing, but in the way an over bearing mother that might own a creepy hotel might be. It was the kind of sounding voice that would hurt anyone who tried to uncover too many secrets. Apparently, that person seemed to be Belladonna and wasn’t that just dandy as now her curiosity was screaming in agony to know what was going on!!
“Gardening is great!” She chirruped in her most syrup voice, attempting to mask her still heavily felt need to run. “I don’t have helpful tools like you, usually I use my bare hands which is death on the nails, but I like it better that way.” Appeal to the tools that may have just threatened your life, good job! Her mind was a flutter with thoughts, one racing after the other with such speed that Belladonna almost couldn’t think straight. But she knew that whatever else was in Valen’s head, it was malicious and she would have to treat carefully from now on. It was that other voice (other voices to be precise!) that had just threatened her with the shovel. And hadn’t Valen said something about violence? He had called her his friend (good to know, she could use that in the future, for what she wasn’t sure but she’d improve if needed) but had also tacked on the bit about hurting her. This was getting just a bit too weird for her. She had come to school to learn and make friends and have a completely ridiculous relationship with a very attractive male, but she DID NOT come to school to have her life threatened by, what, GARDEN TOOLS?!
“We should probably get to looking at the soil… So, you know, it doesn’t get too late…” She paused, her hands wringing the hem of the lace lined camisole she wore, “I’ve heard of some pretty rude monsters in these woods. They only come out after the moon has reached its peak, but just to be safe…”

"Well, this is awkward" Sally commented. Her input was wholly unnecessary however, Valentino knew full well that there was no chance that tonight's events wouldn't replay over and over in his head. Already he sensed the loss in his memory, whatever had transpired during those lost minutes, would've explained why Belladonna's attitude towards him had changed from hellfire to apprehension. At least she was talking about the soil, Valentino knew soil.
"I was thinking that most of this soil is relatively rich in nutrients." Valentino explained why taking a deep breath in. "The compost heap's hardy smell tells us it's near peak nutrient saturation." Valentino gave a big smile, thinking that if school never worked out for him, he could always fall back upon farming.
Noticing her lack of digging gear, Valentino ventured to offer her his spare equipment. "If you want, I have some spare gloves and maybe an apron, I always carry extra, You never know when your going to to need them." Valentino gave his smile, unfortunately this one was forced, his stain removers were for blood, not dirt. He did the math, and after tonight, Valentino would need to do laundry if he wanted to own any unstained clothes.

Giving Valen a curt nod, Belladonna turned and began rummaging through the forest for her lost bag. If she had happened to find Binx waiting for her atop, all the better for he would have known what to do in this situation! He was always full of good advice (usually when the receiver of such advice was not in the mood for it) but now Belladonna really needed it and of course.... He was no where to be found. She gave a small huff and disapproval when she plucked the pinstriped bag from the forest floor, wanting to stomp her feet at his absence. For a familiar he wasn't very helpful and certainly didn't stick to her like glue. The second something bad started happening he was gone like all the good candy after a holiday.
"Oh! I think I'll be alright." Belladonna sing-songed as she trudged her way back to Valen. He seemed like a nice enough person, very obliging and obviously interested in gardening, but goodness if those tools weren't scary. At least, Belladonna hoped it was the tools because if it was actually Valen who had been threatening her, she was going to be in trouble.
Without waiting for him (but trying to give him a nice smile that she hoped didn't betray her) she flounced into the clearing, dashing to the very middle before plopping her bag down and turning to stare up into the sky. Well, doing spells right about now would be kind of useless, but she had to keep up appearances! So she had nothing left to do but unpack her things.
"How do you like Amityville so far?" She inquired finally, her eyes darting to find her new found friend, or well, she hoped that's what he was...

Valentino pursed his lips, he didn't know if this was some sort of trap, was Belladonna a spy? He didn't think that he had been that bad, in fact he had only been caught a few times. This was a dilemma, he wanted to trust Belladonna, but Sally already didn't trust the Witch. However, it was time to take a risk, Valentino didn't want to have to only talk to his tools. That was not a fun prospect for Valentino, his tools could be petty when he needed them to be kind and loud when he needed silence. He decided to tell the truth, what was the worst that could happen?
"The school? It is so strange, everyone seems to be crazy, especially the teachers." He stated, it was mostly the truth. Valentino was sure that there were sane people at this school, he just hadn't met any of them yet.
Valentino was about to continue talking when he noticed Belladonna was unpacking. He had never seen magic preformed before, he stopped and stood still, waiting to see what would happen.

With a sound roll of her eyes and a pause to her unpacking, Belladonna forgot that he had once threatened her and instead was completely consumed with the idea of gossiping.
"The teachers are INSANE!!" She admonished, waving her hands in the air a bit. "Hemlock and Delphinium, my older sisters, said they were pretty out there but goodness! I never expected it to be like this. How my sisters managed to only get a few detentions in beyond me. I've been here barely any time at all and already I fought a soap monster in some icky bathroom." She shuddered at the memory. Quite a lot had happened to the girl thus far and she was not exactly sure how she felt about all of it. But the idea of learning her FEAR better, of making friends and finding true love, it was enough to help push those unwanted thoughts away.
After her little tirade she took a deep breath and performed a very teeny, tiny version of a normal spell. It was simple, there were no sparks of magic to be seen or any great raising of demons or anything like that. Instead she set out a few items, said a few words, stared at the moon, took some deep breaths, said more words and was done. While it was odd to have Valen there watching, she still felt a little better.
"So! How's the soil around here?" She asked after she was done, jumping up and turning to Valen.
