Shion nodded. "We start now. Basic history lessons out of the way, first. The sword that yer father passed down to you, it's one of five Jinsei Tengoku. Now there're only four of them." She motioned for him to follow her out of the temple. The walk was a lot shorter, and once outside, they were in a giant courtyard surrounded by a bamboo forest. "What did the runt teach ya?"

Kazuki nodded his head, taking in the information. That meant there were three others of these in the world. When Shion beckoned, Kazuki stepped to, not wanting to seem too relaxed or lazy. "I know plenty of medical techniques, up to Blood Coagulation and a bit more. As for ninjutsu, I've taught myself the useful ones, up to Water Puddle Transformation. And when it comes to Mokuton, I've learned up to Wood Clone, and Gift of Nature." Kaz lapsed into silence, having ended his list. "Oh yeah, I've started to learn the Pi Qua Quan Taijutsu style as well!" Not once did he mention any usage with the Jinsei Tengoku, because he hadn't used it.

"Which means you don't know kenjutsu... because you don't use the sword... Gotta fix that. Don't think I haven't caught on to yer medical style. You think Akito was good at catching minor details? I taught him how to do that in the first place. As for the jutsu list, we'll need to beef it up a good bit. Pi QuaQuan? Haven't heard that one in a while.... should be fun, but man, we gotta lot of work ahead of use, and by 'us', I really do mean us" She began to think for a moment, using her free hand to rub her chin. "Don't think I'ma just show you a scroll and we'll be done with it that way. Oh no. I'ma break you in every way possible so I can rebuild ya into the shinobi you wanna be. It's not gonna be easy, it's not gonna be pleasant. Hell, it would make most go crazy. But, if yer willin' to go through it all, I can make ya famous." She grinned wickedly. "You sure you want in?"

Kazuki crossed his arms over his chest, listening to Shion. If his father had gone through the training, then he damn sure as well could to! "I've been ready for this!" Kazu wanted to become a great Shinobi, and fulfill his dreams, so that one day he'd be recognized as his father had been.

"Good. First lesson: Jinsei can gather energy and store it for later use. It is connected to the Earth as much as you are; it's an extension of your power. After every session, you are to take the time to gather energy into the sword, understood? Can't tell ya how to, though. The runt had to find this out on his own too." Shion grinned wickedly. "We're gonna stay out here as long as it takes until ya get it."
((Ok, here's how this works: Post learning to store energy into the blade as though he was learning a new jutsu. Use a dice roll. 8 sided dice. Five dice. If the number is 10 or lower, he learns it automatically. If not, like my roll, decrease number of dice by one and the number needed by 1, so the next roll would be 8 sided dice, 4 dice, need a 9 or lower. Repeat until learned.))

Kazuki looked at his blade, never realizing it could do something like that. So, for starters, he sat on the ground, the blade against the lap as he formed generic hand seals in order to help him focus. He closed his eyes, and pulled on his chakra, attempting to store it into Jinsei.

Kazuki hadn't been able to do anything yet, but was certainly trying. He was having a hard time blocking out the world around him in order to stay focused. So instead, he took the blade into his hands, letting his body relax into a very meditative like position. Like this, he began once again.

Kazu was beginning to get the feel for this, but hadn't quite nailed it down just yet. He was trying to shove his chakra into the blade, but it seemed as if the blade simply didn't want to be occupied. Again, Kazu focused, his hands glowing forest green with his chakra.

Kazuki looked as if he was about to begin wrestling Jinsei Tengoku, and was now standing, his legs apart, and holding the blade with both hands. He had a fierce look on his face, almost as if he was about to turn super saiyan. The blade had thwarted him so far, but he was not going to give up. His chakra wrapped around his hands, giving off a cool light. Even the nature around him was reacting to it, growing rapidly, and wrapping around his legs. But what was not happening, was him synchronizing with the blade enough to get his chakra into it.

Shion grinned. "Ya might not know it, but the skill needed to do what little you just did is triple for the normal shinobi. You got potential, I'll give ya that. He sure knows how to make him. Now!" She tapped the ground with her broadsword's blade. "Meditate. Connect with the wildlife around you. See what they see, hear what they see, smell what the lil' buggers smell and hope it's not some insect hovering over something's droppings. The runt should have gone over the basics of this already."

Kazuki never realized how such a tactic could backfire on him. He shook his head though, ridding himself of those thoughts. A smile was on his face, for being acknowledged by this obviously powerful lady. "Shion-sempai...do you know my mother?" When the words left his mouth, he regretted it. Kaz had no idea why he even asked. As if trying to act like it never happened, Kazuki frantically began to try and connect with the world, opening up his mind to everything going on.

Kazuki was finding this harder than normal, despite the fact that he had been doing this stuff for years. His chakra extended like a blanket of snow over the land, covering the earth and creatures alike. Again, he tried to link with everything around him, see what they see, feel what they feel, and unfortunately, smell what they smell.

Kazuki found himself looking at the world from different angles. No longer was a blade of grass something that merely was to be stepped on, but it was camouflage for the ants and beetles, towering over them. He himself was a giant. Odd smells hit him, some which were pleasant, like the flowers nearby. Colors seemed much more vibrant in this way, practically glowing, like himself. Kazu's mouth opened, he had never been with the world in this way before.

Shion grinned. "Good, now we can start the fun stuff." She grew a devilish grin. Oh, Kazuki would be put through a torturous ordeal, but he would be stronger because of it. Every aspect of his physical body and mental brain power would be pushed to their limits. She would break him, then mold him into the shinobi she knew he could be.
In the Sage Lands, time seemed to move normally, while human bodies and the world outside aged at the normal pace. What seemed to be about two to three years was actually only about two months in the outside world. During these supposed years, a woman appeared from time to time. Sometimes she wore a black regal dress and carried an umbrella of the same color, while other times she took to a more causal look, wearing a simple black t-s**t and jeans get-up. Every time she came, she'd spend some of her time watching Kazuki and Shion, then at other times would disappear into the Sanctuary (The temple's residence area) and enter the room Kazuki wasn't allowed to go into. There she would stay in silence. Any attempt at listening in failed. Kazuki could feel it, though. Massive power was gathering behind that wall, not from the woman, but from another source. It felt like his own, but slightly different.
Finally the day came where Kazuki could master the Bear summoning. He now stood before Quan and Aioko, the contract laying at it feet. All he had to do was sign his name with his own blood and he would officially finish his training.
