From what he heard, it didn't sound like a good plan. She didn't seem like the kind of person that would stick with Team Rocket. But Leonard barely knew anything about her besides what she said. Which could be false but why would she lie about it?
"For stupid reasons. I thought it would be fun." He said nonchalantly. "And it would piss off my parents. But they don't even know I'm part of Team Rocket yet... So yeah. If we're going to be spilling life stories to each other I should at least get your name. I'm Leonard."

She raised an eyebrow in confusion. That seemed like a silly reason to do... well, anything, really. "Aila," she replied curtly. "...Why did you feel the need to go so far to do something as simple as angering your parents?" That was a bit nosy, perhaps, but to sacrifice oneself to the whims of a criminal organization for the rest of one's life for so small an end struck her as wholly ludicrous. He couldn't have been any older than she, and to throw away the rest of his life on such an impulse...

"Like I said. It was a stupid reason." Leonard shrugged. "And I'm not proud of it... But you don't think that your reason for joining is also going a little too far?"
Heck, he had his moments when he regretted signing up with Team Rocket. But he was here now, so might as well make the most of it.

"No." She folded her hands in her lap, pink eyes resolute and unwavering. "Have you ever hated someone so purely and completely that their demise is the only wish in your heart?" She inclined her head slightly to a side. "This is a small price to pay towards the realization of my wish."

Okaaay. Leonard shook his head, afraid to let himself speak. He could tell that she was serious about this but... well... the idea that she was seeking vengeance against a boyfriend still hadn't left his mind completely.
Luckily, the washer buzzed signifying that his clothes were finished. He almost leaped up and proceeded to start taking them out.

Were Aila more of the expressive type, she would have smirked, perhaps even made some snide comment about how she hadn't expected as much, but instead she simply watched as he moved away to attend to his laundry. She, too, slipped out of her seat and pulled her items from the dryer, loading them into a basket which she would then ferry to her quarters. She paused briefly in the doorway to toss a "It's been a pleasure speaking with you, Leonard" over her shoulder before proceeding out and away.

Leonard glanced over his shoulders to find Aila already leaving. It was sudden, but not unwelcoming for him. He didn't know what else to say since she was probably thinking that he was a loser or not hardcore enough for Team Rocket or something.
He himself couldn't leave yet because he needed put his clothes into the dryer and wait again. He turned to sit down, wondering if anyone else was going to come in and make him feel awkward, before he noticed that the tower of books was still there.
"Hey Aila? You left your books..." Could she even hear him?

Aila heard the call, face immediately reddening in embarrassment. She paced momentarily. How important were those books? Would they still be there if she came back for them later? How invested was she in what she had been studying? Did she have materials to replace them, even if only temporarily? A quiet growl of frustration rose in her throat, and she set down the basket against the wall and turned around, moving towards the forgotten books with a swift and purposeful stride.
"...Apologies." If Leonard looked at her face, he would have noticed cheeks flushed in mortification. She gathered her things in her arms and turned back towards the hallway once more.
