Well, we must be fair to all faiths. Quick - gather up other religious texts. Burn a few bibles, some copies of Dianetics, anything you can get really. Equality is important!

But seriously. What. The. ******** class="clear">

Honestly, this is the way I feel (quoting Nespin, although I actually explained my feelings to him earlier).

When I heard about Terry Jones and his Quran burning, I wanted to burn a bible. Why? Not because I hate the bible, but because of the symbolism involved. I believe that all people and all religions are equal. You disrespect one book, you're disrespecting them all. I don't care if someone lives 10 miles away or 10,000 miles away. If you disrespect one of my people, you're disrespecting me.

I heard about the priest in Florida who said everyone should burn Qurans on 9/11 and I was like "do you want to further piss off the people who already hate us". Actually I like it how one of the local DJs put it, along the lines of "this guy is going to cause more people to die".
Not to mention it's completely offensive/disrespectful to all the other Muslims that don't have a beef with America

And a lot of people wouldn't have known anything about him if they hadn't plastered him all over the news

This is what I sent Australia's Foreign Affairs minister when I heard about it a while ago:

To the hon. Stephen Smith.

As I'm sure you know, a US pastor named Terry Jones is planning to burn over 200 copies of the Holy Qur'an on the 11th of September. This is an outrageous act that will only spark more anger and hatred, and will endanger troops in Afghanistan. As an Australian citizen, I urge you to take action and work with the U.S government to do something. This event is set to take place on the day that a lot of countries' Islamic communities celebrate the Muslim occasion of Eid - to mark the end of fasting during Ramadan.

We are a country of tolerance, respect, and equality-so why not try and do whatever we can to stop an event that could provoke terrorists and soldiers and could potentially endanger peoples' lives?

........Before I realized he got bumped to Defence so K. Rudd could take his portfolio.....

Also: Silly me thinking Australia's government could actually have an influence on some b*****d in another country.. Well, that ^ says what I think about the topic smile
