Round One has started! 8D
::ROUND 1...FIGHT:: Just kidding...
No, I don't want you to fight. Though I suppose if you wanted to include some sort of a fight in your entry, I wouldn't stop you. This first round will be an introduction as such. Giving the normal info on the patients as well as a short history and personality.
Start date: Sept 15 End date: Sunday Sept 19
::RULES:: Have fun Don't post in this thread for any reason other than to post entries Don't ask me if I liked your entry, don't ask me how you did, don't ask me for a score. You won't get one until the end of the entire contest ;D
::INFO:: Fill out the form provided. Each partner in each team must fill out their own form and post it separately. Talk to your team partner to see what kind of history you'd like to give the patients. Did they know each other before the experiments? Or did they meet during experiments, at the government lab, or sometime after they were forced upon the Asylum. You could have them not know each other if you really want. But they will be meeting each other one way or another down the line for this contest... You'll have to come up with a short personality. Not TOO in depth, but enough to get a good picture. You can tell a story if it helps to demonstrate their personality. For their history, this is the part where you'll have to discuss with your partner. This would be their lives before the experiments and how they got involved in the government experiments. This can also be in story/rp form if you desire.
::INSTRUCTIONS:: Each participate fill out the appropriate form Consult your partner for ideas and collaboration on history ect Each participant post their own form in this thread before Sunday at 7pm (try to post your forms at the same time, one person right after the other, but if you can't that's alright)

Introducing...The Wolf Patient's Name: Layan Dirus Kashmir
Hometown: A small town in the North with at the most 10,000 inhabitants. More animals than people lived there. The town was more geared to adults and the elderly with only one elementary school, and a combination of a middle school and high school. No real university. It was built to provide a gas station and built a golf corse to try and bring in more people.
Favorites B.E.: Working with flowers and walking threw the woods, cheering on the track team
Favorites A.E.: The confidence he now has, running, the night, smells and hunting (for play or real), The fact that Carol now 'sees' him.
Personality: He was a shy but friendly young man. Before his accident he was loud and very fun loving, even a bit of a trouble maker with his few closest friends. Afterwards his friends moved on and he became more withdrawn. A bit of a book worm and awkward with people. Now he is more impulsive and at times a goof ball with Carol. He does not regret his past but wants to be strong for those closest to him. He tends to like to pull 'innocent' pranks with the staff and other patients (with staff and owner permission of course).
Relationship: He used to watch her when she ran track. He almost hide every time she came to the shop though he longed to find a way to help her threw her pain. Now he feels a strong need to protect her and be her strength. He thinks of her like a little sister or the closest best friend he has. She is very important to him, even if currently it is not in a romantic way. Who knows what the future will bring, he just knows he wants to bring the smile and joy she had wail running back to her face. She is currently the only one he has allowed into his pack and formed any type of bond too.
History: Layan was a shoe in to being one of the leading track starts his freshmen year of high school. Just before his premiere race he had a horrible accident resulting his his right knee shattering and most of the ligaments in his leg being torn. This left him fully unable to run but did not stop him from continuing to cheer on the other members of his team including Carol. He loved watching her run and the freedom it seemed to give her. He worked at his mother's flower shop every day after school and on the weekends. It was there he found out about her family trouble but he had never been able to give himself the courage to ever even talk to her. Often hiding behind the flowers or in the back when she came in. It was his father's idea to sending him away to the government to 'fix' his leg with a new experiment. When Layan was told about the government's offer he refused. This caused Layan's father to drug him so the government could fix his son. After he was taken he lost all contact with his family. During and after the experiments on him he has less of a desire and ability to recall the past. He does not think about the future he just knows that he now has the chance and the need to protect and make Carol smile.
Biggest Change: He can run again. The experiments fixed his torn muscles and made his joints more fluid. His sense of smell and hearing has gotten very strong almost to the point that he wishes he could drown them both out. He can see better at night than in the day. All hair on his body has also gone white. (Oh yes all hair on his body.) As lots some of his past memories He is more open to feeling and has started to rely more on his instincts and heart instead of his mind.

Introducing...The Owl
Patient's Name: Carolynn (Carol) Bubo
Hometown: From small northern town, one of those quaint little communities carved out of the woods off the side of the highway where a gas station was needed. It was later developed into a golf course community, with an elementary school and a combination middle and high school, both of which staffed by residents.
Favorites B.E.: Loved being on the track team, especially when the cross-country practices called for them running through the woods. She genuinely did love helping out others. Both were a sort of escape though she did not view them as such, before. Now she just wishes she could lose herself in those feelings - freedom, exhilaration, happiness and serenity! She liked the scent of flowers and the feel of the sun on her face, the chill of a pond or creek in the dead of summer.
Favorites A.E.: She still does like those things, but they are no longer foremost in her mind. She likes games; little games, mind games, anything to get her mind off of her fears. She likes to stick to Layan because he makes her feel safe, though she tends to leave him behind if she ventures out on her own. She likes to take more risks than before, and actually enjoys the tiny victories she feels whenever she progresses with one of her new abilities. This probably makes her more studious than she used to be, in a sense.
Personality: Before. actually quite friendly and down-to-earth girl, took responsibility without looking at it as a burden. Was popular in school and was generous with people but not very close to anyone in particular, no boyfriends (didn't have enough time!). She was not the kind who was involved with "everything," and was only an average student. She volunteered her time to struggling neighbors, mow the lady's lawn down the street on the weekend when she broke her foot for example. Elderly relative was put in a home during this time and spent much time there or helping out on the grounds there.
After: Very frightened. The whole situation seems like a horror movie. Used to trust the government, and now that it has vilely betrayed her she is not sure what to do. Is anyone with power truly trustworthy? Is the little man just trying to get by trustworthy either? She is still a nurturing person, but finding a hard time to get past the fear and sense of hopelessness. She often finds herself worrying about relatives back home. How is everyone, did They come for them too? Because she has always thought of others first and "what she needs to do next" in her past, she is now being forced to think for herself and about herself. This new-found "selfishness" that she is finding within may lead her to do things in the future that she is not too proud of, as she struggles to find herself. In her personal imbalance, may also be persuaded to participate in activities she would not normally allow herself to do (Layan's pranks for example). But hopefully she will eventually find that her ideals and her inclinations before were never untrue or weak or simply naive, she just needs to find new ways to fight for an "ideal" life.
Relationship: Unrequited. She was almost oblivious to his feelings until they "met" again in captivity. "He is a nice boy," was her impression before. She came to know the back of his head far more intimately than his face. But now that he is her only link to her past, she might find herself clinging until she can figure out what she wants and what she is going to do. She is also going to be struggling with guilt for suddenly turning to him when she did not think twice about him previously (especially if he tells her how he feels, that would probably make her feel worse).
History: Carol moved into the community with her family late into the Freshman year. Much time was spent getting everyone settled in, including her elderly relative into the rest home. Few chances were provided for her to get to know people at school (students and staff alike). Most of her connections and acquaintances were made in the summertime as a result of her odd-jobs (paper girl, messenger girl, mowing lawns, etc.) and practice with the track team when she signed up; in the summer when many students and teachers went off on their vacations, took up jobs, and that sort of thing.
Then in the Fall she dove right into school, attempting to catch up on her studies and making connections with the student body. At track practice and meets, she heard stories of the track star who shattered his knee the previous year. They were fascinating and horrifying, but ultimately disconnected from her as she could not even put a face to them. She never really put two and two together to link Layan with his career-ending accident. It is so easy to assume that the new student that has worked their way into the culture already knows who they're talking about and neglect the fact that the new kid was not around to witness the drama firsthand. And so, until they met again in the labs, Layan was no more than "the boy next door," to her, that if she had had a little more time, might have gotten to know better.
One night she saw a suspicious group of men and women. Between them was a limp young man. She knew the back of his head better than anyone's, but because of the darkness she could not be sure. Calling out his name brought no response, but the people around him went into action. She rushed them, thinking not of herself but of the person in danger. Was he okay? Her sports training got the boy loose, but because her focus was not on protecting herself she was easily overcome. They hit her over the back of the head and to this day she does not remember what happened that night. She does not remember coming to Layan's rescue and failing, she does not remember the surge of worry and anger that something so bizarre and nightmarish would happen in her town. She does not remember feeling protective and so many other things rushing through her. She only remembers the sharp headache, and that only vaguely. So now she has to wonder whether some of the bird-like neurosis is from the wound or whether it's from the experimentation.
So now she's left wondering why? Why did the government experiment on her? She can't come to the conclusion of "it would be less trouble if the government and Layan's parents conjured a story about them running off together." So she must try to ponder. Perhaps it was her sturdy genes. Perhaps it was her family's propensity for working with birds in their various ways, as falconers/hawkers, carrier pigeon keepers (note how she was a messenger girl with a bike instead of a bird), etc. She grew up knowing the mind and habits of the bird, and how to care for them, even though there is little use for birds nowadays. Family members include a bird watcher, biologist, etc. So perhaps this being "in her blood" and working with birds in her past, lead the govt to try to draw that out of her so to speak? Perhaps someone in the family owed something that she could only dream of and this was the only way to repay it. Perhaps it was random. She only has her suspicions, for now. But to her, it seems strange that two normal kids from the same 'burb would end up in the same research facility, doesn't it?
Biggest Change: Besides being a bird? It is difficult adjusting to the bird brain and the bird body. Feathers are a strange new feeling and help spawn strange new abilities that she is trying to learn to control. And the desire to keep them spotless feels neurotic and out of control; the desire to preen both herself and her friends is also an almost unbearable habit that she cannot help because it is instinct. The fact that she is now alone (as mentioned above) without a supporting community is forcing her to look inward and the struggles ahead that must be fought within are quite daunting. There is also the issue with Layan, with whom a lot of guilt is going to be connected, but also feelings that she never allowed to affect her before, but now that she has all this time to ponder have come to her attention.

Introducing...The Wolf Patient's Name: Pietro Turati Hometown: Venice, Italy
Favorites B.E.: His work as an apprentice to learn the art of glass blowing (I'll huff and I'll puff and I'll.....make you a lovely vase?), driving around in his boat, the lace his sister makes, counting his blessings
Favorites A.E.: Well have they changed? Not really truthfully. Sadly he doesn't really have access to them at all. For now his favorite thing is seeing Vittoria's reaction to being able to see things for the first time. Otherwise he tries hard not to think of what he's lost. Though of course, that last one has stayed, and comes through even more strongly now as he tries to look for the good in what's happened to him and his sister, and keep himself and her as happy and sane as possible
Personality: To put is simply, he's a good guy. Maybe a little overprotective sometimes, which can make him a little crazy when whatever he's protecting isn't protected, but he does it out of purely good intentions. He tries to see the lighter side of things, to focus on the good parts of life as best he can in all situations even though sometimes his life seems like just a series of unfortunate situations strung together. In addition he's a hard worker, and not one that gives up easy, so combined he sometimes feels unstoppable.
Relationship: Pietro is Vittoria's older step-brother
History: Pietro was born and raised in Venice, where he lived up until he was taken for experimenting. At the age of 6 his parents got divorced, he stayed with his father, and two years later his father remarried to Vittoria's mother. It was a time of sadness in his life, but he loved gaining a little sister, and instantly took to the role of being her overprotective big brother like a gondola to a canal.
At the age of 14 he started up his glass blowing apprenticeship with a well known glass blowing master on the nearby island of Murano and planned to one day work to be a master at it himself. At 15 his father and step-mother die in a fire in their home. Luckily Vittoria survives and then the task of caring for her falls to Pietro since her father is no longer living and his birth mother would take him in, but not the daughter of the woman her ex-husband married. To add to their luck, Pietro's master agrees to let them live in one of his homes, with the understanding that Pietro will work for him when his apprenticeship is done, and pay off his debt that way. His master is a soft-hearted man, and see much talent in Pietro, and wouldn't want to see his pretty younger sister have to live on the streets either.
Nearly four years later Pietro is 18 and about to finally finish his apprenticeship when Vittoria suggests they go on a trip to America to celebrate. He's hesitant since he's so very close to finishing, but since she has her heart set on doing it, he agrees. Halfway there when she confesses to him about the treatments being the reason for wanting to go, and the fact that the tickets have even been taken care of by this organization, he's extremely wary of the entire situation. He doesn't believe that you get something like that with no cost to yourself, with no work to receive it. But he's going to stick with her no matter what and keep her safe. At the airport the representative convinces him to give the treatments a chance for Vittoria's sake.
However it turns out he was right not to trust the situation, since they both get taken and become experiments. Now all his energy is focused on surviving, protecting Vittoria, and staying well enough to protect her. Biggest Change: Heightened senses, hearing and smell mostly. And just a... general boost of how in touch with his instincts and gut feelings he is. He hates and loves this change since yes, he can smell things wonderfully and hear approaching danger well, but...he can also smell and hear things that he REALLY rather not.

Introducing...The Owl Patient's Name: Maiara Selene Frost Hometown: San Francisco Favorites B.E.: The little coffee shop downtown, rockin' out to her favorite music, playing with her band, long walks through the city or on the beach, and reading. Favorites A.E.: The weather of San Fran doesn't appeal to her anymore, she prefers the cold now and she doesn't like coffee anymore (unless it's iced). Thankfully she has no interest in eating mice but she does enjoy playing with them. :3 Personality: She's become rather quiet and socially awkward since the experiement. This change bothers her because she used to be outgoing and now she feels she has had to withdraw herself from others while she tries to become accustomed to her new life. Relationship: Maiara knows him (the wolf) from the small downtown coffee shop she used to frequent. He worked there and they had coffee together once or twice... History: She was an average city girl finding her place in the world before the experiment. She had graduated high school and was ready for college just before it happened - the interference destroyed her dreams of becoming a biologist, as she is certain she'll never be accepted into normal society again... She hates the thought of being cooped up in a mental hospital, but it can't be too bad if you're around people who accept you right? This thought changes a bit when she first steps foot into the Asylum and she realizes what a nightmarish place it is. But on the positive side, who wouldn't want to be able to spread their wings and fly?! If only for a short time. Biggest Change: The biggest change she's felt is probably the wings... Other than that she's really having trouble coping with her radically different appearance and trying to work this change into her identity and not let it get her down. Overall the experience has changed every aspect of her life in one way or another...

Introducing...The Wolf Patient's Name: Eric O'Connor Hometown: San Francisco, California. Favorites B.E.: Working at the coffee shop, going out to swim in the Russian River on the weekends, listening to and writing about indie music, veganism and animal rights activism, and organic gardening Favorites A.E.: He still likes nature... only now he likes more active participation. Running, sports, and... hunting. Personality: Once an easy-going rebel against the mainstream, Eric O'Connor was always a guy who was easy to talk to. He was outgoing to everybody, trusting easily and liking most of the people he met. He didn't take well to authority, though, and liked how his manager typically left him alone during his shift. Nowadays, he's not so sociable- his gregariousness is limited to those he knows and those that the doctors introduce to him. Outsiders are viewed with great caution. He finds himself drawn to the regimented structure of Asylum life and doesn't understand why he feels an unconscious trust for those who basically ruined his life. He's also a lot more aggressive and assertive than he used to be. Relationship: Eric had heard of M. A. Frost long before actually meeting her. It was hard to know anything about the up-and-coming unsigned bands of the area without hearing her name. She was extremely talented and had a unique way of looking at the music, and her stage presence wasn't that of your typical indie navel-gazer. She had a pizazz to her that he'd long admired- was it any wonder he developed a little bit of a crush on her? He noticed when she came into the coffee shop, and he'd made sure to be extra-friendly. He'd convinced her to have coffee with him a few times, and they'd been very fun. Even though they were both preparing to go to college the following year, he'd been hoping that maybe the relationship could go somewhere...
And it did. Here. To a mental hospital neither of them should be at. He's incredibly loyal to her now, doing basically anything she asks. She's his pack, whether she likes it or not. History: Eric was a pretty unremarkable high school senior until just recently. He made decent grades, was a member of a few clubs, and had a good after-school job. He had his friends and acquaintances, and his parents were generally quite happy with him. His little sister thought the world of him, and he of her. He'd had a few girlfriends, nothing really serious, but had been single for the past several months. He'd gotten into San Francisco State with a small scholarship, which would have been great. He would have gone into journalism and maybe business as a double major, while continuing to work at the coffee shop. But that's probably not going to happen any more. Even if he could hide his physical changes, his personality's changed so much that he knows he'll need some mental help once he breaks out of this joint. Biggest Change: While initially one would think the ears and tail, for him, it's the drive to eat meat. He'd never liked meat, not even as a child. The thought of eating an animal was anathema, and it was totally horrifying when, upon being forced to eat it by his captors, he discovered he enjoyed it. He also is having a lot of problems with his teeth- those elongated canines give him a horrible lisp. All his ess sounds sound like th sounds. He also has trouble with regulating his body temperature: It seems that the transformation has left him without sweat glands. But unlike a wolf, his tongue isn't flat, making panting very difficult. He doesn't like the personality changes, but believes that once this is over, he can overcome them... even if it might take some therapy.

Introducing...The Owl Patient's Name: Vittoria Turati Hometown: Venice, Italy. Her brother works in Murano, Italy as a glass blower. She works in Burano, Italy making lace. Favorites B.E.: feeling the sun on her skin, listening to books on tape, or hearing her brother read to her. She enjoys tasting the palate of foods, and the chef in the café she usually goes to loved testing her. She very much enjoys making lace, even if it hurts her fingers sometimes. Favorites A.E.: She enjoys seeing things now. Though sometimes she cant process the information and it makes her go slightly crazy. She still loves to use her other senses as much as she can. Now, she also likes staring at the night sky and making shapes in the stars. Personality: She can be easily excited sometimes. She loves her older brother very very much, though sometimes she feels guilty that he might not be able to do all he could if it wasn’t for her. She enjoys losing herself in a book, or in her lace. She has a very good memory since the experiment. Even before she had been able to remember things others could not. It had helped her keep track of her lace count when she could not see to count it. Relationship: She is Pietro’s younger sister. She is 2 years younger than him. History: When Vitty’s mother was pregnant, her father died and her mother never told her how. But Vitty has grown up with a father, Pietros. Pietro’s father knew Vittie’s mother for about a year before she was born, and when he found out the father had died, he vowed to help her out. When Vitty was around three, Pietro’s mother had had all she could take and asked for a divorce. Bantering on and on about how he no longer loved her and doted over some other women. It wasn’t until after the divorce that he realized she was right. That he did love Vittoria’s mother. So when Vittoria is 6, her mother gets married to Pietro’s father.
At age 12 she finds out her dear brother has become an apprentice glass blower and becomes very excited. She thinks this is wonderful and wants to copy him. So she gets an apprenticeship as a lace maker. Well, the owner of the lace factory felt sorry for the 12 year old blind girl so he told her it was an apprenticeship and waved her off on one of the older ladies that work for him. Though the old lady doesn’t have to teach her things, she also feels sorry for Vitty and sees how truly excited she is. So she does what she can to explain things to her and show her the hand motions to make good lace.
At age 13 she is sitting at home in her favorite comfortable chair listening to a book on tape that her brother had gotten her. It was a wonderful mix of fantasy and spells. The perfect way to snuggle down with her favorite stuffed animal and relax while her mother made dinner. Pietro was not yet home from his apprenticeship and father had just come home. Suddenly a large boom is heard in the kitchen and a strange choking smoke fills her nostrils. Her father screams for her to get out, through the confusion she pauses and grips her plush animal. By now it is harder to breathe, both smoke and panic filling her chest. A second boom shudders the house, so forcefully that she rushes to the door. As she departs the entrance door something hot lands on her shirt and she trips. As she braces herself to hit the hard brick, not even noticing the deep warmth of where the cinders have landed, strong arms catch her. The little air in her lungs is knocked out as strong hands pat her down repeatedly. And now the fierce warmth she realized on her skin vanished. For some reason on she can hear is ringing before she hears the word. Fire. Someone said there was a fire. She panicked and the strong arms held her tight “You can’t go back in there! We haven’t gotten the fire under control yet!” And then she realizes the ringing, its not ringing at all but sirens. Fire sirens from trucks. Under the siren was a low murmur of a crowd now forming. And suddenly, the only family she had left was her brother. Both her parents are dead from a kitchen fire.
At age 16, not much has changed. She has moved into a small apartment with her brother at the kindness of his master. She has only met him a few times, but he is always mentioning how he could not bear the thought of them living on the street. Good glass does not come from the homeless, apparently. She continued her apprenticeship making lace. The old man that had hired her saw how good she had become by the age of 14 and told her she could keep working there if she wished. And now that it was only her and her brother….. There was no other choice. But she still loved it. Hearing the joy in their voices as they looked her work over. And then news came, news of a new experiment in America. A scout had come to Italy in search of the perfect candidate. And he had told her, she was perfect. She had never been called perfect before, and the prospect of finally being able to see made her excited. She loved her brother very much, and yet she felt that if it wasn’t for her blindness, he could do so much more. He always seemed to be protecting her, and she wanted him to be happy. So she agreed to go along with the experiment, and was given two free tickets to America.
Now all she had to do was convince Pietro. She told a little fib, telling him it was to celebrate the ending of his apprenticeship. And that they would be back in Italy before he knew it. She didn’t have to fake the excitement, which eventually, won him over. So they set off to America. Only problem being that Vitty couldn’t lie to her brother. Halfway to America she told him the truth. About the organization she knew so little about and the promise of sight that they had guaranteed. She still had the same excitement and he knew she really wanted this. He had no choice but to follow her and protect her in case any thing went wrong.
The first step into the airport a ‘representative’ walked up and introduced himself. He was going to accompany them to the facility where the procedure would be done. Of course, Pietro was not yet convinced. But after a long chat with the soothing voice and staring at his pleading sisters face had him mostly won over. But only enough that he would allow his sister to continue to the facility where he would demand more information about the procedure. As Vitty was lead to the car through the parking lot, Pietro followed a little ways behind. Thinking. Of what could happen, what would happen, and if he made the right decision. Just then did he look up to see his sister and the man reach the car. And as they did, the man reached his arm around her to put a cloth to her face. A slight struggle, but she ended up going limp and falling into an unknown figures arms that had reached from in the car. Some might have said Pietro growled at that moment as he tried to run the little distance to his helpless sister. But not 2 steps taken had an arm reached around him and a cloth covered his face. The last thing he saw as he dropped into a weightless darkness, was his beloved limp little sister being dragged into a car of unknown men.
Biggest Change: The biggest change for her is now being able to see. And see very vividly. Sometimes it confuses her and she gets paranoid or goes a little crazy. At these times, Pietro just hands her some sunglasses or a blindfold and hopefully it works. She has other noticeable little traits from the experiment. She has heightened smell and hearing. She seems to be able to move her face muscles more now without even realizing it. When she is threatened or highly displeased she gets a very intimidating scowl on her face. Other things seemed to have changed, but she hasn’t figured out what they all are yet.

Introducing...The Wolf Patient's Name: Ulric Nicholas Vaughn Hometown: New Haven, Connecticut
Favorites B.E.: Ulric was a studious teen. He would have his book work done no later then a week before it was due - if someone would even need to find him (Not that it was EVER another student) he would be found in the teacher's lounge - debating class assignments and why he didn't care if the other students were slower then him. Ulric did enjoyed things other then studying in life, such as: reading and writing science fiction and fantasy. He loved comic books and often found himself wishing he was able to draw his own.
Favorites A.E.: He really enjoys running. He still hasn't found just how fast he can go yet. Ulric has started to enjoy drawing since he found out that his eyesight and a steadier hand has really made him skilled (Though anything was bound to be better then where he started off at!). Following a good scent to it's source and even eavesdropping on conversations being held in different rooms.
Personality: A true loner. No friends, he just doesn't like people. He likes ideas, intelligent debate, finds art amazing, books (though he loathes poorly written anything!) He does have a strong pull to his father, and will respect intelligence and those who have artistic merit. He secretly wishes he could draw, and was more charismatic. He hates that he's never been invited to a party... Though he knows he would never fit in with the typical party people.
Relationship: Flipping through a "Flash" comic book, Ulric peeked up and out the large store window. At first he didn't notice anyone, but then saw a female teenager. "Why is she around here?!" He muttered to himself. It was Nydia, one of the most popular if the rich kids. He was very annoyed at having to see her at school, let alone on a Saturday morning! Again Ulric muttered quietly, "She just better mind her own business for once!"
He was distracted when saying good bye to the store owner, "Sorry Mav, I'll just come back in a few days when Flash #5 comes out!"
As Ulric turned the corner of the building, stepping on to the alley, he had no clue what he was walking into. There waiting for him were five very well dressed, very annoyed male students. "We knew you'd be looking for more damn pictures. Did ya get any more nuddies?" Brian was the first to talk, and even though he attended one of the best prep schools in the country, he refused to talk as such.
Ulric just sighed, he just wanted to go home. The teen just didn't want to deal with these ingrates. "Just get out of my way Brian and take your idiots with you."
They laughed as a group as Brian replied, "Please, it's up to us to teach you a F***ing lesson. We're so damn sick of you licking the teachers' boots as they walk by."
Ulric had enough. He was exhausted from having to be around this negativity from day one at school. It had all started with his name and grew worse from there. For the last few weeks, even Nydia had been attempting to stick up for him. But he believed all that was her garnering more popularity points. "You five represent the epitome of idiots in the world. It's not worth anyone's time to speak with you, I'm going home now." With that statement he started to walk through the group as several of them looked a little dumbfounded.
One of the rich teens pushed him to the ground, "You are NOT leaving until we leave!"
There were various shouts of "Yeahs" and "hold him". Brian came up to Ulric as Ulric tried to squirm out of the hold. Leaning close into Ulric's face, "This isn't all you get yet either!" He took a step away, balled up his fist and threw a punch right into Ulric's face. That was the "ok go" the other four needed. The guy holding him, let Ulric drop to the alley. As five pairs of Italian loafer shod feet started to kick - the body tried to curl into a fetal position.
A few moments after the kicking started, it stopped. He may have heard voices, such as a female voice, But Ulric wasn't about ready to look up and see what new horrors the ingrates had in mind. It wasn't until a hand lightly touched and shook him that he looked up. It was Nydia. Not someone who he would ever want to witness what happened. As she tried to ask questions, or even attempt to say it was ok, Ulric flipped out. "HOW DARE YOU HELP! I WAS DOING JUST FINE ON MY OWN. YOU... YOU.... DAMN YOU!"
Quickly, he scrambled up to his feet, tripped but got up and tried to run away. As soon as he realized that she wasn't following, he stopped. The teen must have just been three blocks from home, but he couldn't make it just yet. He slumped against a tree and started to sob quietly. Ulric was so confused now. Why would Nydia, admittedly a very pretty girl, want to help him? Was it just about pity? Helping the poor kid? What the hell was he going to do? How could he repay this? Because he knew he must. Ulric believed in Karma. That certain events must be payed back! He finally rose to his feet and limped home, his thoughts in term oil.
History: He was raised in a not very rich family... well, just his father. His father is a tad eccentric, but he does want Ulric to have the best in life. When Ulric started to be the star pupil in elementary school, that is when his father - David - moved to New Haven. He hoped his son would get noticed. And Ulric did! Ulric was invited at the age of 16 to join the Hopkins prep school. Not only invited, but even given a full ride scholarship. David was over the moon and finally able to back off of work he disliked and start writing books once more.
Ulric did love and respect his father very much, but often it felt like he was living with an anti-social roommate. Once he started to attend Hopkins, it became worse - now his father was locking himself up in the office more and more working on a book (A book, Ulric thought, that no one would read). It meant that Ulric had a lot of time on his own. His free time was spent reading comic books, trying his hand at drawing, and reading a lot of fictional books.
At school, his life was much harder. The school work, well that was rarely ever even close to difficult. But the other students and the physical activities he was forced to take, were much harder. It seemed like since day one, everyday was some type of a fight. First it was his name, Ulric was silly sounding to the students. And his last name? What, was his grandfather the famous guitarist Stevie Ray Vaughn? Those he could just shrug off and ignore, but it still persisted and escalated once the students started to notice how high his grades where and what was happening to the bell curve. As for P.E. classes - they were just messy. He had to learn how to golf, play squash, fence, water polo, lacrosse, dive, and several other menial tasks that he loathed.
At the age of 17 - his current age - His take on physical activities had not changed! The fighting at school started to grow into several little scuffles that were always broken up by the teachers. He never started them, and he never fought back. It wasn't until a very bloody fight that ended up with him on the ground and a popular classmate, Nydia was standing over him, did his life start to change.
The fights and the relationship dynamic between Ulric and the school had been watched. It was just days after Nydia broke up the fight that Ulric was taken in by the Government. Men in black suits knocked on the door and informed Ulric that his father had signed over custody. Ulric had no way to prove otherwise, it was one of the rare days his father left the house. The men took him to a very large building with full of scientists. Now it seemed as if these scientists were now in charge of his life. A man in a lab coat ignored all questions Ulric would ask, and placed him in a glass room after giving him an injection. The needle had to be something that would just mess with his mind... right?... It was all in his mind that he was growing a tail... It was just in his mind!?!?!
Biggest Change: How fast he is! His hair color! (use to be jet black) How his eyes sight and eye color has changed. His strength! That he has started to enjoy physical activities. (But doesn't like to fight still!) His hearing and also his sense of smell. And the biggest problem causing change - that cute fluffy tail!
