She's smart.

An amused hum and a swell of satisfaction came from the fiery-haired woman, mixed with anticipation of the upcoming weeks. A nod of approval made pearlescent drops hanging from her ears swing and catch the light. "Yes." It was praise, for a situation so quickly grasped. "We made you."

Nadja kept her forearms turned wrist up to let the little Mewtwo balance as she considered the silent question - what about me? Her eyes flicked to Mau at his question, then to her charge. She touched her fingers lightly to the hand on the Pokemon's chest with a smile. "Synchrony." In her mind two lines moved into perfect alignment, resonating with each other - an abstract image, different from the distinct faces called up by 'Mau. Allen. Nyx.'

"Project 101505," Allen interjected from the instrument panel, giving the code. His mood had not improved, and one thought was foremost in his mind: She's coddling it. He leaned sideways to see what Nyx was writing.

There was a flash of irritation from the redheaded woman then, though her expression did not change. It smoothed itself out in the next moment, and her body angled ever so slightly as if to block the scientist's sourly clinical attitude from the young psychic. I'll have to talk with him later.

The Mewtwo looked back up at the one called Mau as he introduced the names of the others. She looked over to the man who was resonating negative emotions, and then the studious one with fluffy white hair.

However, the words from Nadja redirected her attention back to the woman with a furrowed brow at the mention of being made. There was apparent confusion in her eyes. What did that mean?

Then the touch drew her gaze downward and was lifted again. "Synchrony?" She looked back to the sour scientist at his objection.

"Don't like Allen."

Out of everything happening, the baby Mewtwo's comment about Allen elicited a giggle and a snort from the dandilion head.

When Allen was peeking at her notes, she wrote 'subject 101505 adverse to Allen.' 'Subject desires' Nyx paused and mimicked the pokemon's hand motion. "I think... she wants to know her name."

As much as the pokemon was just a very interesting and important experiment to Nyx, referring to the Mewtwo by a series of numbers each time they wished to address it would get tedious after a short while. Nyx finished writing a few more notes and readings.

Mau couldn't help but frown a little at Allen, so coldly calling the pokemon by her project number. Allen's no fun at all. A slightly impish smile crossed his face. He's a meanie head. Part of him wanted the pokemon to repeat that so Allen could hear. The more rational part of him knew that was a horrible idea.

A name, huh? Mau wondered if the young pokemon knew what a name was, or the meaning of it. Instead, he asked "Do you think you're able to walk?" Mau knelt down a step or two away from Nadja. If she wanted to try and walk, Mau ad a feeling that Nadja would not let it- her fall. Though Mau wouldn't allow that either. He hoped she wasn't feeling overwhelmed or surrounded. ...Well, she had been confined in a tube until just minutes ago. Mau had to admit though, he was curious to see what the young one could do.

Allen drew himself up sharply in response to the psychic's comment and his assistant's laughter. "Hrmph," he grunted and fiddled with his glasses to maintain - or regain - composure and dignity. His mind was a mess of indignation and, perhaps undetectable to the newborn at the moment, a tiny seed of growing resentment.

Nadja, on the other hand, couldn't help thinking Me either. The Mewtwo's confusion engendered a faint thread of worry in the redhead's mind, followed quickly by resolve.

Let's address this now rather than later.

"A moment, Mau," the woman instructed, then focused back on her - their - young charge. "All things are made one way or another," she explained, adding with a little touch of wry humor, "often by accident. But you were made on purpose, with a purpose." They were simple words, deliberately so, chosen to clarify rather than confuse. "The ones who make are creators or parents; the ones who are made are projects or children, and in time they create as well. You have a big role, koshechka. But you'll grow into it."

There, that snatch of foreign language - that felt like a name.

The Mewtwo's gaze lingered in Allen for a few moments until her attention was commanded by Nadja once more.

Her head tilted slightly as Nadja attempted to explain her role. A glimmer of curiosity in her big blue eyes. Creator and parents, projects and children, she seemed to grasp the concept if only vaguely.

"What is my purpose?" Naturally that would be the next question.

However, the foreign word didn't escape her notice and drew yet more curiosity.

Nyx took yet more notes, especially since now was not the best time to start giving the little pokemon a check up and shots. She wasn't a sentimental person when it came to her work, but knew enough about pretty much all people and pokemon; No one liked needles.

Though, the Mewtwo was already a thousand times better than the test rattata. She could talk, and make fun of Allen. Not that Nyx disliked Allen, but he was fun to mess with some times.

"You were created..." Mau said gently "because we needed your help." He kept his face gentle and smooth. He tried to keep his mind focused. If you will let us, we will teach you. It was true that Mau didn't know all the details, or at least, didn't remember all of them at the moment. This was too exciting, and who could remember boring project details in the face of... of... this.

To be useful. Allen's thoughts came quick and unbidden, still stinging with resentment from being rejected by his own creation. All attention was on the creature, but it had singled him out and excluded him. After all the work he'd done, the very opposite of appreciation.

Mau's response drew a thoughtful mental pause from Nadja as it was turned over, analyzed - and accepted. It was a good start. But how to answer the questions it would inevitably engender..

A complex, abstract concept rose in the woman's mind, shapeless and intricate and whole, parts moving in and out of focus - too much for a sentence to explain in full detail and generalized the next moment into a single phrase. "You'll link minds." It was checked, approved, and the redhead continued, still holding one three-fingered hand in her own. "But before that, you'll learn to be what you are."

Powerful.

There was so much going on. So many different thoughts and opinions and feelings, that it was a bit overwhelming for the newly born Mewtwo. She looked between all the humans in the room, regarding each of them with her wide innocent blue eyes for a moment as she listened to their words and thoughts.

To help, be useful, link minds... powerful?

Bitterness, amusement, curiosity, and gentleness. So many different things all at once.

Eyes were then focused on Nadja again.

"What am I?" The inevitable question. "Teach me." A word she had heard from Mau.

Nyx folded her arms and waited. Mau and Nadja seemed to do well with baby-like things, Allen on the other hand, was behaving like a jealous child with a new little brother or sister.

"We will teach you. It will take time." He said gently to the pokemon. He wasn't exactly sure what to say about what this pokemon was though. A pokemon? An experiment? A child? Maybe Nadja should answer that.
