Yue Lao raised one eyebrow knowingly as Kiran looked her over, "So you're sure now?" She said, her voice low and amused. "Maybe you're the wolf, with a smirk like that. No good to get two wolves together in the same place, is it? Think about all the poor little lambs," Yue said, feigning grief and placing her hand, fingers splayed, over her chest, as if her heart hurt. Her eyes still glinted with a kind of drunken fervor. "Are you fond of princesses, then, Kiran? This particular one had a temper, and thrived on the attention of men," Yue added. Her expression shifted slightly, recounting the details of her meeting. Yue's memory for others and the details of their respective personalities was quite exceptional.

"A bad influence...? Oh, no, that's a secret you have to experience to understand," Yue Lao said. She felt no remorse, but perhaps it was true, that she was a bad influence. She was certainly not entirely honest, nor very modest. Humility, empathy, shame; these things escaped her. "Maybe you want to be ruined, then," Yue Lao said, chewing her lip. She had moved slightly closer to Kiran while she spoke.

She laughed, at the suggestion she needed a new nickname. "Is my name not good enough? I rather like it." She had to cover her mouth again, for fear of attracting attention due to the laughter on the roof. "How should I know what you've never told me? You're ridiculous! If I knew everything about you, and we've only just met, I would have no questions for you, and I should hope you'd be afraid of me," Yue Lao said, "Very afraid." She grinned, an almost animal gesture, her teeth framed by the pink of her lips. One way or another, I'll dig up your secrets, and the things you're hiding, Yue thought to herself.

"You keep answering my questions with another question! Don't think I can be deflected so easily, Kiran," Yue said. "Fine. Of course I have fascinating habits, what's not to be fascinated by? For example, I lie in wait on rooftops for unsuspecting Lunarians and I steal kisses from them," Yue's face was almost grave. It was hard to mask her general personality and disposition, however; she succeeded only in looking like a serious drunk.

"That you're a girl? I don't think there was ever any doubt. Was there?" He smirked, letting his eyes roam down her body once more. "Me? A wolf?" He chuckled at the thought. "Maybe. Who knows? Oh, but the little lambs would make such a tasty meal, don't you think?" Kiran pondered the next question as he tilted his head. "Can't really say. I've never met one. Real or nicknamed."

"Oh? Then you have been a bad influence? If you know it's a secret." The only person Kiran cared about not being a bad influence for was his sister. She knew of his hobbies of scamming but not the eavesdropping. But she never showed any signs of following in his footsteps, thankfully. Kiran laughed at the comment. "How do you know I haven't been ruined already?"

"I thought perhaps you wanted one?" But perhaps not everyone liked having a nickname. Kiran wasn't quite certain if he wanted one himself, unless mister criminal really did stick. Then he wouldn't be all that thrilled about having a nickname. Kiran eyed her. It would indeed be unnerving if she happened to know everything about him upon their first meeting. "Then I guess my question should have been: What things are you assuming about me?" It made him curious to know just how she was seeing him.

"It's a habit, I suppose," Kiran said, rolling shoulder, which he was beginning to see was a habit of his. Then he tilted his head at Yue Lao. After a moment, he glanced about the rooftop in seeming confusion as he searched for something. "Hm, I don't seem to see any unsuspecting Lunarians up here."

Yue Lao rubbed the extra exposed skin of her shoulder. She tilted her head in such a way that her earrings caught the light, brushed against her jaw. "Never any doubt on my part," Yue said, Kiran looking her over again. She thought it was kind of funny, since there wasn't exactly a lot to see. Yue was dressed fairly modestly, given her appearance. The only giveaway that she wasn't entirely humble was probably the one side of her undershirt exposed. It was constant; her over robe wasn't quite on right, or something. "Actually, now that you mention it, I think they would be a wonderful meal. Not the princesses, though; too crunchy and bitter."

"Maybe I have, maybe I haven't! A secret doesn't necessarily prove the one or the other," Yue Lao argued, entertained. If nothing else, these little back and forth comments were amusing. Yue Lao didn't really have anyone to hide her 'transgressions' from, so to speak. She had no siblings, no protective father, no particularly good friends. She pretty much went where she would and did as she pleased, with no visible repercussions, so far. "Well, let me see," Yue shifted in closer, and took his hand in hers, flipping it over so it was palm-up. Her grip was light; he was free to take it back at any time. she leaned in close and pretended to examine his arm studiously, from his shoulder to his palm, her lips close enough to his skin that he would be able to feel her breath, lightly. "Looks pretty not-ruined to me," Yue concluded, drawing away and letting go, sitting cross-legged again. "I'm sure if you wanted to, you could remedy that." She laughed, and winked. What did she mean by ruin, in the first place? It was a mystery even to her. Just an idea, a hypothesis.

Yue Lao wouldn't care, either way, if she had a nickname, but it was unusual for anyone to be compelled to give her one. In a way, a nickname was either an insult or a term of endearment, and others rarely really wanted either for her. "Now, now. Can't expect me to tell you who you are; that's something you have to figure out for yourself. Close, though!" Yue seldom shared her observations with anyone. The truth was often unwelcome. For now, Yue was enjoying herself too much to deliver her verdict.

"Ah, no unsuspecting Lunarians?... What a shame! Here I thought I was in the right place." Yue sighed and shrugged, shaking her head. She stopped mock-sulking only to add, "Now, what are your hobbies; I told you, your turn."

"I hear they're all nice and tender, and juicy as well," Kiran said, continuing the joke. "Princesses don't sound like they're be all that good to eat. Though maybe the bones would be good for gnawing on?" He shook his head as a smile played across his face. This was probably the most bizarre conversation he had in a long while. It was a good thing they were up on the rooftop. If someone had overheard this part of their conversation, they might get the wrong idea, not realizing that they weren't be serious at the moment.

"Such a cryptic response." Kiran eyed Yue Lao, wondering whether she had or hadn't. It was hard to imagine her as a bad influence. But maybe that was what made someone a great bad influence. Always the ones that no one ever suspected. It would allow that person to get away with it and have none the wiser that it was him or her. Kiran gave her an odd look as she took his arm. He didn't try to pull away, though he could have if he wanted to. Her grip on his hand, and when she leaned in, her warm breath rolled across his skin. It was a strange feeling, one he wasn't accustomed to. After she released his hand, Kiran looked it over, seeing nothing really unusual about it. "Hm, how can you be so sure? Would a ruined hand look different?"

Kiran pouted. "Not even a hint? A small one?" He jutted out his lower lip and tried to look saddened by her answer. "How can I tell if the things I 'never said' are true or not if I don't know what you think they are?"

"Well, there's you and me." Kiran turned about, looking all around the rooftop. "But, nope. No unsuspecting Lunarians that I can see." He leaned back again with a thoughtful look. "My hobbies. I suppose you mean other than climbing onto rooftops and listening in on people's conversation." He turned a grin on her. He didn't think many of his hobbies were really all that fascinating.

Yue Lao couldn't help but laugh, as Kiran contemplated the tastiness of lambs and princesses aloud. It was definitely a strange conversation. She was seldom able to find someone who could keep up with her odd musings, much less contribute their own take. Yue tilted her head and regarded Kiran with a certain degree of curiosity. Yue wouldn't have been particularly concerned with anyone overhearing; it was just her, after all. She sincerely doubted anyone in the area would recognize or remember her. Even if they did, they would probably dismiss her as a silly girl. Sometimes that was convenient. "All this talk of lamb and gnawing is making my stomach grumble," Yue admitted, rubbing it. She hadn't eaten that morning, since she was busy going out to run errands. Which she had promptly forgotten, anyway.

"Cryptic! Aptly put, though I'd say you're not entirely forthcoming yourself, Kiran!" Yue laughed. She was pleased he didn't try to pull away, though she was trying to be gentle, so that he could; the last thing she wanted was to make him bolt too suddenly. What would she find out, then? Nothing useful, likely, except that he was skittish. "Of course a ruined hand would look different! If you think I'm wrong, though, I'd be happy to conduct a broader investigation of the possibly afflicted areas," Yue said, winking.

Somehow, his pout was endearing, even if she was unmoved by it. The fact that he was even trying to pout amused her sufficiently that she decided to answer him. "Fine! Since you're so ridiculous, I'll give you one, maybe two observations. You're not as dull as you seemed like you might be, and I think that though you probably have some suspicious traits, you're not a criminal. Satisfied?" Yue pursed her lips, eyes shining with laughter held back. "I don't know anything about you, fundamentally, yet; those things take time, silly," Yue said, quite honestly, before it occurred to her not to. She pursed her lips again and tilted her head up, looking at the sky. It had such a soft quality to it, as though it wanted to reach down and lift her up into itself. She looked back down to respond to Kiran again.

"What a pity! If you had been unsuspecting... but no, you're all too aware, aren't you?" Yue grinned again, the way she had earlier when she had looked almost predatory. She pretended to mourn his awareness, shaking her head. "I guess I'll just have to wait around for a third Lunarian to climb the roof. Then I'll steal my kiss, and it will be a job well accomplished."

"Apart from climbing onto rooftops and eavesdropping, indeed," Yue Lao responded. "I'm sure you're full of strange little quirks."
PostPosted: Tue Sep 14, 2010 4:49 pm

"Perhaps we should go seek some food then," Kiran suggest, sitting up so that he was now leaning back on his hands rather than his elbows. "Though I don't think we'll be able to find some tender lambs." Now that she mentioned, he felt a little hungry as well.

Kiran smiled, realizing that they were similar in some aspects. They were both being careful about what information they gave away to the other, feeling each other out. Then he looked his body over in seeming perplexity. "Perhaps I'll just take your word on that. I don't see anything that looks ruined. But maybe my eyes just aren't as good as yours." His eyes darted back to Yue Lao as they shone with amusement.

He grinned when she gave in and answered his question. "You thought I'd be dull?" Kiran gasped and placed a hand over his heart. A wounded look crossed his face. "I'm hurt." He pondered then nodded. "Satisfied. For now." He was curious to know what other observations she might have made about him.

"Hm, but I don't think you'll find one up here," Kiran said, his mouth turning down in a slight frown. "Not many other Lunarian bother to climb up onto rooftops. You'd probably have better luck looking for unsuspecting Lunarians down there." He nodded toward the street below. "Plenty of them down there."

Kiran looked up to the sky as he thought it over. "Well, if I must," he mumbled absently with a shrug. "There's fishing, but that's not very interesting. And I train a falcon." He turned his gaze back to Yue Tao. "But you were probably expecting something more interesting, huh?"

Yue rubbed her stomach and pursed her lips, "Seeking food sounds like an excellent idea. I wonder what's for lunch at home..." Yue pondered it. Her biological mother, Chishio, was often cooking for Yue and her othermother. Yue didn't exactly have the best cooking skills, thanks to that; her expertise seemed confined solely to the preparation of certain meats, and the creation of beverages. Yue moved into a crouch. "Oh, and I was really looking forward to some lambs... Another day, then; we can go on a lamb hunt," Yue suggested, laughing.

Yue took the opportunity to look Kiran over as well. She took her time, surveying him, taking in details, the quality of his clothing, the cut of his hair, his stance. "Maybe not! If only you could see what I see?" Yue winked.

Yue hadn't minded answering the one, once she had been pressed enough to do so, but that was the end of divulging, since what she thought of him was her secret from then on, most likely. "You were pretty unfriendly, at first! Oh, your poor wounded heart..." Yue stuck the tip of her tongue out at Kiran, grinning. He was getting more and more ridiculous, which made her more and more comfortable around him.

"There are too many of them down there! Knowing my luck, I would kiss the wrong unsuspecting Lunarian and BAM, I'd end up in a fight. On second thought... Maybe I'll do that. I'll think about it when we get off the roof to get food?..." Yue didn't really believe in luck, just like she didn't believe in fate. She believed in the direct consequences of the actions she took, or failed to take. A series of actions and choices Lunarians took which crossed their paths.

"Ah! That was a fair trade," Yue said, delighted Kiran had answered her question. Now she would be much more willing to answer one of his questions. Yue would not give out more information than she received, so if someone pressed her too much for an answer but offered nothing up as a sign of good faith, Yue would likely fail to answer or answer untruthfully. "Falcon training? How is that not interesting? I find it so, because it's unlike anything I do; just because you think your hobbies are uninteresting doesn't mean that I will!" Yue scolded, amused, shaking her finger at him. She adjusted a little, the crouch she was in getting uncomfortable. She hoped they would get off the roof, soon. "Fishing could be... peaceful?" Yue Lao tilted her head and pushed her braid off her shoulder. She added, looking away, "Peaceful if I wasn't afraid of dying, I guess. Too bad I don't know how to swim, so I don't really go around a lot of deep water!"

"SO how's about that food?" Yue moved right along, sneaking along the roof until she was sure the people on the road couldn't see her, standing up and stretching briefly before ducking back into a crouch. Yue might even consider inviting Kiran to lunch, if he wanted food. She wasn't sure she felt like eating from a vendor.
PostPosted: Thu Sep 16, 2010 12:51 pm

Kiran didn't want to think about what his mother might be making for lunch. Whatever it was, it would probably be enough to turn his stomach. He was still a beginner at learning to cook and didn't know how to make very many things yet. "A hunt! Now, that would be exciting." He had never gone on a hunt.

"Oh? Do you see something I don't?" Kiran grinned at Yue Lao. "Or maybe just something you like?"

"Me? Unfriendly? I don't know if my heart can take all these wounds." It was easier to joke with her now that was feeling more comfortable around her. But he still didn't feel comfortable enough to drop his guard. If she was trying to figure him out like he was trying to figure her out, then he wasn't about to make it easy on her.

Kiran smiled, amused at the idea of watching Yue Lao run about the street below sneaking kisses from unsuspecting Lunarians. He would have to keep an eye out for her in case she really did act on that idea.

"Well, I guess since it's something that was always part of my life," Kiran said, scratching his head. He never really thought about the falcon training being something that others might find interesting. "But I've only really been at it for a couple of years now." He stared at Yue Lao almost like she had grown a second head. "You don't know how to swim? It's not that hard, not really."

"Food sounds like a great idea." He made his way over to the side of the rooftop, careful not to be seen. Then he dropped down to the alleyway below and waited for Yue Lao to join him.

Yue Lao was surprised Kiran was so excited about hunting. It hadn't really occurred to her as a good or bad activity. She wouldn't know the first thing about hunting game, but finding people to harass... that was another story. Little lamb Kotone, for one, was sweet but clashed with Yue Lao's vibrant nature. It made for interesting interactions, save Yue began to feel a little bored of her after only a short while. "A literal hunt, or one for Little Lambs?" Yue Lao asked, laughing. In truth, she wasn't very good at any kind of cooking, really, which impressed upon her again, thinking of going on a hunt with Kiran. She wondered if he could cook. He didn't seem like the type, but maybe he had a surprising hidden nature yet to be uncovered. Yue watched him with a sly smile, thinking of this.

"Something I like? Oh, yeah, there's some kind of pastry vendor on the road behind you," Yue fabricated, pretending to peer around Kiran. She was thoroughly amused at his suggestion, however, and her expression would show that. Essentially, Yue Lao was having fun; a lot of fun, in a different way from her typical activities. She was seldom able to converse with someone on the same tricky, round-about level that she herself employed. With Kiran, it was like dodging questions was an art, and they were both masters.

"I think you'll live," Yue said, "somehow." She shook her head. She pursed her lips and tilted her head to the side. She was friendly, but that didn't mean she was divulging any personal information, nor any secrets. She had a lot of her own secrets. She assumed Kiran did, as well, but those could be worked on. However, if Kiran was as likeminded as he appeared to be where it came to clever avoidance, it would take more work than most Lunarians. For most... it was easy to read them. Their facial expressions, slipped words with negative or positive connotations, they way they reacted to her questions: all of those factored into her reading of people. Kiran, however, seemed to be operating on a very similar level to her own. Yue couldn't help but think of him as a challenge. A puzzle to be solved.

"Well, you train falcons, and I don't swim! They don't seem that different. Both activities, one involving each of us," Yue responded, relatively indifferent to her inability to swim. She just wasn't very aquatic. Bathing whenever she could was the extent of her interaction with a body of water. She didn't even like being around lakes; too damp.

Yue leaped down off the roof after him, bracing herself lightly and taking what little impact there was in a crouch. She hadn't done that in a while. She had largely already regained her balance, but she got up and tripped into Kiran; an intentional gesture. It was fluid with her jump, as if she had landed and then fallen in her attempt to straighten her posture. "Well, well. I seem to have fallen; how terrible and terribly awkward," Yue said, trying not to grin wildly. The physical contact sated her, for the moment, and food would have to be her new goal.
PostPosted: Fri Sep 17, 2010 12:28 pm

A wolfish grin spread onto his face. "Both," he answered, amused by the idea of hunting for lambs and Little Lambs, as Yue Lao called them. But he wasn't really sure where they could go to hunt real lambs. He doubted anyone that bred and raised lambs would appreciate them "hunting" their animals. Kiran knew his father get very angry at anyone that tried to capture or hurt their falcons. He would as well, especially if they touched his Aditi.

"Just a pastry vendor?" Kiran pouted with a hurt look, but he couldn't completely mask the amusement in his eyes. "How disappointing! I thought I'd at least be more interesting than some pastry vendor." Kiran was greatly enjoying this back and forth play between them. He hadn't come across many other Lunarians who had similar nature to him. It was like dancing, only without the actual dancing. Kiran knew he would probably fall on his face if he tried to dance for real. But it was a dance of avoiding revealing too much of themselves to the other.

"Live? Perhaps. But I don't think my heart will ever be the same." He sighed sadly as he placed a hand over his heart, like he could feel the wounds on his poor heart.

Kiran tilted his head at her. Her response didn't make it sound like she had any real interest in learning how to swim. Or, at least, that was what he gathered from it. He shrugged, deciding not to press that topic.

When he saw her starting to fall after landing, Kiran immediately moved to catch her. "Oh, yes. Very awkward," he agreed with a chuckle.

Kiran's wolfish grin had sent a shiver across her skin, and she responded with one of her own. "Good thing I'm neither kind of lamb, or I might actually be scared," Yue murmurred, her skin flushed as though she was warm to the touch. Never mind that you didn't really hunt real lambs, so much as purchase or raise them.

"Just a pastry vendor?" Yue gasped, as though it was affronting, "Oh, I'm sorry, was I supposed to be looking at you? Well, alright, let me remedy that," Yue said, flashing a predatory smile. She held her chin in her hand and looked him up and down extremely slowly. "Hmmmm... You know, there just might be something to you... Then again, that pastry vendor had some really nice pastries... What a dilemma," Yue said, sighing dramatically. She simply laughed when he suggested his heart would never be the same.

No one was ever the same as they had been before; subtle things shifted. The threads tugged, changed things, moved them and warped them. Sometimes it improved them. Yue would be different for having met Kiran. It was inevitable. Now it was just up to them how profoundly they would change one another, and Yue was curious as to what effect he would have on her future, this puzzling Lunarian who made it all too fun to tease and be teased.

When Kiran caught her, she didn't really push away very fast. In fact, she lingered again, as she had done earlier. She was much closer to him now, and took in his facial details: the colour of his eyes and scales, for example. "Aren't you a gentleman, and such good reflexes," Yue whispered, her eyes barely slit open. She was warm, from the sun on her skin up on the roof. "I guess I know who to fall on if I trip, now," Yue said, reluctantly breaking the contact. She brushed the bare skin of her arms against his as she finally pulled away. Perhaps she would be able to sneak more later. It was one of her constant concerns, however terrible that made her. It was a kind of hobby, really. "So, sugar, where are we headed now? To prey on the innocent? I suppose that wouldn't really solve the hunger though, would it...?" Yue looked him up and down again, her wolf's smile showing. She turned away briefly, looking down the alley. It would look kind of bad if anyone saw them standing back here, so she started to walk towards the mouth of the alley, to where the sun broke down into the street. She moved with her familiar swagger, regained on the ground: the sway of her hips; the jangle of her anklets, hidden under her loose white pants; her braid swaying and brushing her back lightly. She looked like she was either drunk, or about to dance to music no one else could hear.

"Probably a good first step, really," Yue said. "Hey, maybe we'll even see that pastry vendor," Yue laughed. Of course, since she had made it up, she knew it wouldn't be there. She beckoned to Kiran and blew him a kiss, laughing again. Her positive energy was incessant and seemingly without end, even hungry and overwarm from the sun.
PostPosted: Sat Sep 18, 2010 1:47 pm

Kiran nodded with the wolfish grin still on his face. "Too bad." His grin stretched just a little wider. "But it would be more fun hunting for little lambs with a partner." The idea of it seemed more entertaining if shared with someone who thinks along a similar line.

Kiran shifted a little under her gaze. For some reason, Yue Lao's gaze felt more penetrating than a simple glace, like she was trying to see more than just his simple outward appearance. Or maybe, he just wasn't used to having someone run their gaze over his body in that manner. "Oh, I see how it is." He sighed dramatically. "A poor soul like me simply can't compare to the delicious sweetness of pastries. I never stood a chance." He wiped at his eye like a tear had managed to escape.

"Yeah, well," Kiran mumbled somewhat awkwardly. His body had simply reacted to the situation. His sister wasn't in the habit of tripping and falling, but he always made a point of being present in case she did fall. It happened every once in a while. "What kind of man would I be if I let a pretty lady fall to the ground?" He didn't bother to pull away, letting Yue Lao regain her balance and push away from him when she was ready. He guessed some of the manners his mother tried to teach him actually stuck.

"Food first, I think," Kiran answered, hunger gnawing at his sides by this time. "Then we can hunt." He smiled as he crossed his arms behind his head and followed Yue Lao down the alley toward the Main Street. "Ah, the pastry vendor. I'll always lose to him, won't I?"

Yue Lao observed, to her amusement, that although Kiran was able to return her verbal teasing, he sort of stiffened up when it came to physical contact. Too bad, but better in the long run. Yue could only be indulged so much before it became too much to bear. "What kind of man would you be? Well, one losing to a pastry vendor more and more, I suspect," Yue said, laughing. She most likely would not have fallen; her balance was quite good. He had been kind enough to catch her, so she wasn't about to tell him she hadn't needed it. Besides, what if she did need to be caught, some day? That would prove hazardous. So Yue bit her tongue and smiled.

She looked both ways down the street, trying to think of where they ought to go. She was hesitant to bring him for lunch at her home, if only because there was always the delicate explanation of Chishio and her othermother. However, what about a picnic? If she took him up there and just wrapped some food up to go, she could avoid the whole awkward "This is my mother, this is my mother's significant other. Yes, also female." Not that Yue would ever say that. They usually lied or twisted the story, because they wanted to keep their family safe. Not everyone, they knew, would understand. Distracted by her thoughts, her face had lost its buoyant cheer, and she showed a little of the true self beneath it: weighing options, balancing, serious consideration of the situation. However, that only lasted for a flash, especially when she turned and saw Kiran with his arms crossed behind his head. It was somehow endearing. She burst into laughter. "You know, you might put up a good fight!" Yue said, referring to the pastry vendor, "And yet... you may never win, no," she laughed again.

Shaking her head, she got back to the point. "Now.. are we appropriating our lunch, or are we going to go about this the civilized way?" Yue's expression was carefully guarded. She wasn't a thief, and maybe Kiran wasn't either. She was playing, but the question had the flavour of one which was much more serious. "Alternatively, I'd like to propose we obtain food from my home and eat it outside, while the weather is so nice. Besides, then the adventures don't have to stop!" Yue grinned and put her hands on her hips.
PostPosted: Sun Sep 19, 2010 1:32 pm

Kiran sighed and hung his head. "A pastry vendor is really that much than I?" He pondered thoughtfully for a moment. "What if I became a pastry vendor? I wouldn't be able to lose then, would I?" He grinned, but he really don't know anything about making pastry. His cooking lessons with Yuudai hadn't covered anything about pastries.

Walking a few steps behind her, Kiran didn't catch any break in happy face that Yue Lao put on. "Oh, if it's a fight, I'll definitely win," he said with a cocky grin. He was confident in his abilities. But maybe, he was a little too confident. He had yet to beat Uncle in a training match, but he had won more fights than he lost after beginning his training.

Kiran tapped his chin as he considered their options. "We could 'appropriate' our lunch, but I think it's best not to go that route." While he wasn't above scamming or pocketing people's money, there were certain lines he didn't cross. Stealing food from vendors happened to be one of those lines. After all, if someone tried to steal the fish he sold at the docks, he would get very angry at them. He tilted his head up toward the sky. "A picnic, huh? That doesn't sound like too bad an idea."

Yue laughed. "Maybe so! However, you can't just become a pastry vendor! It's a labour of love. Perhaps if you demonstrate something with that level of sincerity, you can beat him anyway," Yue said, grinning.

"Not a physical fight," Yue responded, amused, "A battle of skill, of wits, of intensity! Those are much harder, at times; I mean, it's less easy to determine a winner when both of the contestants are still conscious." Yue liked fights; she liked the rush, the increased pulse, and the chance at colliding with her opponent. She didn't mind getting a little bloody, but she wasn't yet skilled enough to prove a good enough fighter to hold her own against most combattants with training. It was something she would have to improve, seeing as they did intend to fight a war, after all.

Yue was pleased to note he didn't want to steal like that. It made her more content to be his friend, somehow; she valued his honesty, though he was sneaky in ways she suspected she was as well. "Good. The vendors work hard, don't you think? Especially my beloved pastry vendor," Yue pretended to swoon, fanning herself and fluttering her eyelashes. She grinned and straightened up, winking at Kiran. "A picnic it is, then! Now... let's see... Which way do I live?" Yue pursed her lips and looked both ways down the street.
