Sirenstoy My favorite vampy was probably Mael, the druidy vamp who just kind of moved in the background. Eh, in my opinion, not all vampires would be so horribly emo. I mean, honestly... learn to enjoy yourself, you dumb bastards. I haven't read much, but I liked what I have read. Yes, I know. He does what I'd like to do for a living... Now, as far as people disliking Anne's work... apparently it earns you 5 goth points to not like her work. Well, at least not the vampire chronicles... the sleeping beauty stuff is another story entirely. I dunno, it's funny in my opinion. Dracula is cool, but Louis, Armand, and co are not.... eh, that's life. Last I knew we weren't running a point system, and I think it's kindof ridiculous really. Either you like an author or you don't, it doesn't mean you are or aren't goth based on liking or disliking a particular authors works. *Shakes my head* Kindof a silly thing if you ask me. I remember if was one of the first vampire books I read, so I liked them from that perspective regardless of if I re-read some now and liked them or not. It was just one more little bit that helped to expand my mind into thinking outside the box. ^_^

Mrs. Pink Eyes ToxicxXxTears Mrs. Pink Eyes ToxicxXxTears Thats really weird because everyone says she's awesome. I'm a freak like that, making me uber goth. Most people I know hate her stuff. Well, I wouldn't know, I don't read her stuff. Save yourself, don't plan on reading her books. Jah, I agree, nothing but mindless dribble, good for posure middle schooly "goths" who want to creep out thair parents. It truely was a large waste of my time, but its not like i had anything better to do

Her books are overrated but still decent. The only one that i would consider a work of literature is Interview. My personal favorite next to that one is Memnoch. I think the whole "Goth points for not linking her work" thing is based off the fact that now she doesn't write the vamp books anymore, she rediscoverec her religion and is now writing about jesus.
My favorite character is Khayman. the reluctant torturer of Maharet and Mekare.

i dont like anne rice's work at all....her writing is barely adequate, and besides, i'm not a fan of the whole hollywood styled vampire thing. never have been a big fan of it, though some movies are ok...i just never read books on it, especially now...

I dont think its fair that people who hate or dislike her should have kill themselves, hun. I've never read her work, nor do I really intend to. Nothing personal I just don't like reading about vampires on a whole. Sorcery yes, vampires no and since that's all Anne Rice writes about, I am not too likely too, still no need for such unwarrented meanness, ye gods gonk

Actually ms. oterys, she's no longer writing about vampires. She rediscovered her Religion and is now writign books about the young jesus. odd in my opinion, and the mayfair witches books avoided vampires until about the book Merrick where she crossed the series. but they were more soft core porn anyways

they're not really that good, They have their interesting moments i read the first two or three mayfair books, in my opinion the early Vampire chronicle books are still her best work, specifically Lestat and interview. MEmnoch was also really good, if only because it more or less documented her return to christianity.
