Tsubasa had finished her second song quite some time ago and was now simply lying down besides the wyvern, conversing with him through their thoughts.

{Hey, now that I think about it,} the girl asked, {What should I call you?}. She really doubted that saying "Pale One" over and over again was the most friendly thing to do.
In response, the wyvern cocked his head and made a guttural set of sounds. Apparently, that was what he was used to being called by his kin.
Feather remained quiet for a while, not knowing how exactly she could make the exact same set of sounds.
The wyvern quickly understood the girl's confusion and sent an image through Sora. Immediately, Feather saw a large hollow--almost a valley--in the ground with a lone tree, pale as a bone, sticking out of it. The girl looked up at the wyvern, obviously asking if that was what his name meant.
The dragon nodded his head and waited for the siren to think up of some kind of name for her to call him by. He didn't mind a new name. Everyone he had befriended had either died or forgotten him. He had been completely alone when chased away by the blue dragons.
Tsubasa envisioned the image of the bone-white tree for a while longer before settling on the name, {Shiro. How do you like it? Nice and simple, right?}.
The dragon grumbled, or purred, in happiness as he nodded.
Tsubasa and Sora both smiled before Sora nudged the bard up. {Sorry,} the Feather apologized, {but we have to go.}
Sora piped up as he hopped onto the girl's shoulders, {But we'll make sure to visit you soon!}.
To the last comment, Feather nodded to assure the wyvern, who was obviously disappointed at seeing the girl leave but knowing that he couldn't keep her here forever. As the girl's wings grew to the needed size, the wyvern nuzzled her cheek to say goodbye before stepping back and waiting for them to fly.
Tsubasa took off and, with a final wave, flew quickly from the valley. She really hoped that she hadn't caused any suspicions with her long absence. It would be bad if she attracted attention to herself.

Walking into the valley by herself (well, of course, Sora was with her), Feather decided to simply strum a bit on her lute. Maybe she could make some new stuff. Besides, there had been several ideas that the girl had been playing with, the first was some kind of supersonic wave.

First she strummed , getting simply the pitch right. She would need an extremely high-pitched sound. On a wind instrument, such a noise would have been easy enough to make. On a stringed instrument, though, she would need to adjust one of her strings. Even then, though, Feather doubted that she would be able to play a high enough pitch. [1/4]

She was right. Even after stretching the string to breaking point and placing her fingers right next to where she strummed, Feather could tell that the pitch still wasn't high enough. Besides, even if it was, it would have been troublesome to continuously change the tuning of the guitar. With a sigh, Feather returned the tautness of the string back to how she had set it before. [2/4]

Her first efforts dashed, Feather than went on to plan B, using energy. She would use energy to morph the sound she was making into an extremely high-pitched note. That would be the first step and, as seen from the perfect pitch that was created on her first try of the tactic, a pretty easy step at that. The next step would be to tune the pitch and place energy into it so that it has a confusing effect as well. [3/4]

After several rounds of experimentation on Sora, who had volunteered to be the guinea pig but wasn't exactly too fond of the role, Feather managed to perfect and memorize the needed tune. Strumming once more to check on an unwary Sora, he had thought that the skill learning was done, the girl achieved the results she wanted… along with a very angry guardian that shot a glare at her and started lecturing the siren about etiquette and such. [4/4]

Supersonic
Rank: D
Limits: Musicians only.
Description: Supersonic sends out a high-pitched vibration that confuses the enemy. When using it on a target that can't hear the vibrations, roll a six-sided dice: odd numbers mean that the enemy is confused and even numbers mean that the move failed. When using it on a target that can hear the vibrations, roll a four-sided dice: odd number mean that the enemy is confused, 2 means that the enemy's sense of hearing is messed up, and 4 means that the enemy's vision is messed up. Because Supersonic relies on vibrations and not actual sound, it can even be used on those who are deaf or who have blocked their sense of hearing in some form or another. The targets for Supersonic can be chosen freely by the user and the effects can last up to five posts (the user can choose a shorter duration if they want to). People in a confused state must roll a six-sided dice on every turn: even numbers mean that their attacks have somehow managed to hit them (no way to dodge this), 1 and 3 mean that their attacks have worked perfectly fine, and 5 means that their attack completely missed the intended target and caused absolutely no damage at all (this includes "lucky shots" that managed to miss the target but still cause harm by knocking over a pillar or something onto the target).

After Supersonic, Feather began on the next skill idea, Ember. While she wasn't of the fire element, the girl figured that she should be able to create enough friction with her fingers to create a spark that she could then combine with a sound attack. Of course, such a skill would only work with stringed intsruments but it was better than nothing. [1/4]

Strumming over her keys, Tsubasa began to warm up her fingers. Each strum was significantly faster and harder, but not necessarily rougher, than the one before it. Even as the strings grew hotter, the girl didn't feel much of it. She had been playing instruments for as long as she could remember and her fingers were already used to such side-effects of playing. [2/4]

Eventually, the girl began strumming so hard that sparks were flying from her strings. Of course, the effect required energy for it to be achieved without damaging her fingers but it was there. However, being there didn't mean that it was usable. As soon as she tried to combine it with a sound attack, the spark would dissipate. [3/4]

Two problems seemed to be at the root of the failure: the spark was too small and Feather needed to work on transitioning the energy over. Both could only be surpassed through trial and error and that was exactly what the girl did. She practiced over and over again until she created the desired result multiple times in a row. Actually, she practiced so much that she actually needed to replace her strings a couple of times. Either way, an hour after she started, the girl was done with learning Ember. [4/4]

Skill name: Ember
Type of skill: Bard/Minstrel class
Rank: D
If it uses ammo how much: n/a
Limits: Must have a string instrument (Sirens cannot use their voices). Must be able to learn minstrel skills.
Skill description: With enough friction, it is possible to create fire. By playing on the strings of a stringed instrument with enough force and combining the spark of fire with a sound wave, it is possible to magnify the flame and create a fire attack from an instrument. This ability, though, requires a sound attack (ex: War Song, Sound Wave) or some other means of transportation/magnification (ex: wind magic, more fire magic) if it is to create something even resembling a fireball. When used with fire magic, it adds more fuel to the attack and increases it by one rank. By itself, Ember will simply create a spark that will be able to light a fire but has little to no actual battle-use. For the most part, Ember is too small and the sound waves carry it away too quickly for it to damage the minstrel's hands.

Blowing lightly on her overheated fingers, Feather thought it was probably best if she took a short break from practicing her instrument. However, the girl didn’t stop training. She had been gone for a while to visit relatives and so she needed to catch up. Besides, she might forget all the new skills she had seen if she didn’t learn them now.

Next up was Shuriken Storm. It was based off of something she had seen an acrobat perform and combined quite a number of aspects of the wind element. Taking out a single shuriken, Feather focused on it and gently lifted it up with wind. [1/7]

Still focusing on just one projectile, Feather began to twist and turn it in the air. First, she began with simple patterns then she moved on to more complex paths. Of course, the speed was nowhere near what she had in mind for the skill, but it would have to do for now. Besides, even at the current slow pace she was having trouble keeping the shuriken steady. [2/7]

In time, she managed to maintain a somewhat steady path at a decent speed with a single shuriken. At that point, she added in another shuriken. Now, both of them were as wobbly as her first try. the girl thought as her eyes traced the painstakingly slow paths of the weapons. [3/7]

One, two, three, four, five, there were now five shurikens spinning in the air. Each one changed positions rarely but each one was spinning rapidly. Now, Feather was training simply getting the air to surround multiple targets. Suddenly, though, she had two of them dart out of the formation… only to lost control of both as they nearly pierced a napping Sora.
{Gah!} the frightened guardian exclaimed and sneezed as he exploded in fur, {Don’t scare me like that!} [4/7]

After apologizing profusely to Sora, Feather began working on the skill once more. This time, Sora remained wide awake and ready to dodge anything sharp and pointy. Setting up the formation of spinning shurikens once more, Tsubasa carefully dislodged two of them and managed to successfully have them whiz around her. [5/7]

Now, all five shurikens were spinning and orbiting Feather’s head, like mini planets. Slowly, the girl began to shift their angles, making their orbits not so parallel. However, it still wasn’t enough. Sure, she could control all of them at once now, but her goal was to control each and every one individually at once. [6/7]

Trial and error was, once again, Feather’s answer. After many rounds, the girl finally managed to individually control each of the five shurikens. From five, the going was much easier. Controlling additional shurikens was basically just a more complicated version, nothing new. [7/7]

Shuriken Storm
Rank: C
Limits: Must know shuriken skills. Must have wind element.
Description: By tossing a bunch of shurikens or any other sharp object into the air and then controlling each individual one with the wind element, it is possible to create an intricate storm of a multitude of sharp objects. However, creating a storm of weapons is only one way to utilize this skill. It can also be used to precisely control weapons and have them move as one wills them to. A C-rank amount of energy is required for every other post of control.

Next up on Feather's list was a siren skill. It was one that she had chosen to try out after seeing Sora use it: Wing-Blade. So far, all she had really figured out was that she would need energy to harden her feathers and give them a blade-like edge. The rest would require experience. [1/4]

Concentrating her energy into her wings, which were now at their full size, Feather tried to sharpen them. However, no matter how hard she tried, she could only concentrate on a small portion of her wings. As soon as her focus drifted momentarily away from one spot, her feather would become soft once more. [2/4]

Tsubasa continued to concentrate. Instead of drifting from spot to spot, the girl was now trying to slowly expand her focus from a central point. She envisioned her energy as the waves on the beach as a tide came in. Gradually, it spread out. Other than the occasional moments when her center was exposed, the method seemed to be working. [3/4]

Feather continued what she was doing and, before long, she managed to cover her entire wing. Sure, the center wasn't covered, it wasn't possible for Feather to focus the energy on it while still covering the outer edges, but she had meant for a blade-like effect, meaning that only the outer edges needed to be covered. Looking around for something to test it on, the girl could find nothing but things that were alive. Not wanting to hurt even the trees, she figured that, judging from the sound her wings made as they sliced through the air, she had perfected the skill without even trying it out once. Besides, she already knew that her lack of strength would limit the skill. [4/4]

Wing-blade
Rank: D
Limits: Must be a siren.
Description: A skill taken from Sora but with a higher energy cost because of the larger wings and other factors, Feather is able to sharpen all of the feathers on the outer edge of her wings, creating a blade of sorts. While extremely sharp and durable, the power behind this skill is severely limited by Tsubasa's strength.

In truth, Wing-blade was a move that Feather had only figured was possible thanks to knowledge of another, much easier skill, Feather Arrows. Pulling out the scroll of siren skills that she had taken out of her room quite a while ago, before she had even abruptly left to visit her relatives, the girl reviewed the specifics of the skill before putting the scroll aside and beginning on it. [1/2]

After training Wing-blade, Feather Arrows was easy. The only hard part was gripping the feather without cutting herself. However, her training with shurikens eased even that part of the training of Feather Arrows for Tsubasa. the girl thought to herself as she tossed several of her sharpened feathers at a nearby rock.
{Looks useful, though,} Sora commented as he looked on from a tree branch. [2/2]

Name: Feather Arrows
Rank: E
Description: By plucking a feather off of their wing and hardening it with energy, Sirens are able to easily access razor-sharp arrows without the use of a quiver. This technique works even if the wings are wet and is not only limited to arrows (ex: sharp throwing knives); however, most of the feather is extremely sharp, making it unsuitable for use as a close-range melee weapon (ex: dagger). The number of Feather Arrows created must not exceed the ammo capacity limits. Regular arrows and Feather Arrows are counted together towards the ammo limits.

The next skill was going to be slightly tricky to train. It had no real training rank to plan her training with and their was a valid reason as to why. Feather was stuck staring at the skill for several minutes before she could finally decide on how she would train it. She would try and perform Nature's Harmony with two average songs, at least average for her, and train it that way. [1/7]

Tsubasa thought to herself before switching over to a mental conversation with Sora, {I think I'll sing Relaxing Respite. Sora, what song should I try and play with it?}.
Sora thought for a second before responding, {Sonic Barrier. The two make a nice combination. While one defends, the other can restore.}
Feather nodded at Sora's idea and her usage of the skill before beginning to sing Relaxing Respite. [2/7]

As Tsubasa sung, Sora stood on high alert, ready to warn the girl if he sensed anyone coming. He was so wary that he was now away from Feather and patrolling a short ways away from her. Actually, he had even asked Shiro for help, to which the wyvern agreed quite amiably. Between the two of them, the chances of anyone reaching hearing distance of Feather was very slim. Meanwhile, the girl continued to sing Relaxing Respite. [3/7]

Singing Relaxing Respite was the easy part. Somehow getting the world around her to play Sonic Barrier was where the real trouble started. At the moment, all Feather could focus on was trying to think of both songs at once. No, that was an understatement. Right now, Feather was struggling to think of both songs enough to go sing through them if she had two voices. [4/7]

By the third time she had sung through Relaxing Respite, Feather had mastered thinking of two songs at once. She had learned that thinking of the physical score wouldn't help. No, she needed to think of the feel that the song had and that made all of the difference. Trying to spread her singing energy throughout her surroundings, the young siren sought to persuade the world around her to join her in a chorus. [5/7]

Slowly, a hum started to grow, resonating from the plants, the grass, the sky, even the rocks. However, there was a way to go before the hum could be considered anything close to a song. Either way, though, it was there and Feather could hear it. That hum was what convinced the girl that she could learn the skill. [6/7]

As her confidence grew, so did her singing abilities. In no time, the hum could easily be heard as a song and the branches of the tree seemed to even wave in time with the beat of Sonic Barrier. After her seventh time through Relaxing Respite and her second time through Nature's Harmony, Tsubasa finally stopped and allowed her voice to rest. As she did so, the girl slowly retracted her wings, after stretching them for one last time, and reverted to her disguise as a human. [7/7]

Name: Nature's Harmony
Rank: Varies
Description: While Sirens can only sing one song at once, physically, their voice is able to persuade the nature and energy around them to sing along. This ability is referred to as Nature's Harmony and by paying the needed energy cost, it is possible for a Siren to be singing two songs at once, one with their voice or instrument and another with nature.

After resting for a bit, Feather finally figured that it was time that she returned back to Pronta. It had been fun living the nomadic lifestyle for a bit once more, but she had dedicated herself to the mountain city and it would be unfair to leave all of her friends without any help. {Let's go Sora,} the girl thought as she started the long trek back.
