His spider-sense informed him that something was happening fairly close by-- maybe within a mile? The layout of everything was still so confused in his head that he couldn't remember which way it was directing him. Gotham? "Yeah, that would be great, Cat," he said flatly, "If there WERE anybody else around to handle it. There isn't. With that in mind... scat. Shoo. Begone." With that, he started up the wall, only to turn and add sternly, "Don't bother Kingpin, either. Seriously. Just don't do it."

Felicia's smile fell after the mention of Kingpin. "I know..." she replied. Even her tone had dropped a bit. "I looked into that a bit some time ago. He's different. There's no record of my father working for him at all here." Crouching down, she lept upwards, sinking her claws into the wall and thrusting herself up onto another ledge. "Which means...I have plenty of time for other things now." she said, her grin returning. "And what did you mean there was no one else around to handle it? I've seen news. There are still quite a few heroes around to pick up the slack."

He backed up. Fast. "No, no-- No other things. I'm shy. And delicate. And busy. Mostly busy." He wanted to say something about the other heroes disappearing, but suddenly all he could hear was the blood pounding in his ears, making it hard to think, let alone speak.

"Oh?" Cat purred, her tone becoming playful again. "Well, then, why don't I help you out. I've nothing else to do, and I certainly wouldn't want you to wear yourself ragged." Honestly, she WAS about to do something Fisk related before she had spotted her spider. It might not be their version of Fisk...but it was still Fisk. Using her claws to anchor herself to the wall, she carefully slid down the wall towards her spider. "As for the shy and delicate...don't worry. I'm gentle." she purred.
Right about then, two loud 'BOOM's echoed from the jewelers that was a few miles away.

He jumped almost 30 feet into the air purely out of reflex. "Thanksbutnothanksgottago, Bye!" he said hurriedly as he started swinging in the direction of the explosion. He was pretty sure that his voice had cracked a little on that last word, out of sheer... what? "And remember: NO FISK!" he yelled back just before he got out of hearing range.

Black Cat turned and watched him take off. She couldn't keep up with him, she knew she couldn't. So there was no point in chasing after him right away. Still... "You're not getting rid of me that easily, sweetie." she purred to herself. With that, she climbed her way back onto the roof and began making her way across them again.

"Seriously. What the &%$#?!" an angry girls voice rang out from the large, now broken store front window. A young girl wearing a pink and purple "costume" stomped her way out of the store with a large sack slung over her shoulder. "This is IT?! This is all that was in that cheep $%% place? Not even worth it." the teenager spat back inside.
A clearly much older woman wearing a long white coat and orange "costume" soon stepped out of the store as well. "It's out of the city. Which means there's less of a chance of us running into anyone." the woman replied. "Now hurry up and lets get those to the car, dear."
"Fine Mo-ther..." the girl snarked

"Wow," somebody said blankly, just a split second before both of their feet were webbed to the concrete with a series of loud 'thwip'- ing sounds, "Listen to you backtalk to your hard-working mom. Don't you understand? She's working hard to set you up, so that when she's gone, you can be a lame super-villain all on your own!"

The only reply Peter received was a series of unrepeatable words and a furious glare from the young girl. "Won't run into anyone my %$$!!! Why is it always YOU!?" the girl screamed, discarding the bag beside her and aiming both of her now glowing fists at wherever the voice had come from. "I swear I'm going to melt your &%$#ing face off!!"
"Lori! Don't bother with him! Just try to get your feet free." the mother shouted, trying to aim a small blast at the side of her feet.

[Enter Firestar from New York City]
Flying high, Angelica looks down and sees a woman and a girl, both wearing costumes and carrying loot, confronting Spiderman, Spidey, you really don't catch a break, do you?
Carefully, Firestar took aim at the woman and waited for either them to attack or Spidey to give her a signal.

Spidey noticed firestar, briefly indicated the mother's weapon, and then turned his attention back to the pair, who were pelted with painful balls of webbing as the webslinger cheerfully called back, "Yeah, Lori; just ignore it; responding just encourages mean old bullies like me."

A chorus of curses again flowed freely out of the youth's mouth. She let loose her powers towards the spider, and sent one small blast at the new chick for good measure.
Then...somewhere from inside the building....something strong began to set off any danger aura's anyone might possess. Something strong enough to flip over an armored vehicle. And it was aimed mainly in the area Spiderman was.

Firestar nodded and zeroed in on the mother's hands which were glowing. The redhead fired with just enough power to possibly overwhlem the woman with pain but not enough to maim her.
The girl's blast clipped Firestar, and she yelped in pain, "Oh.... That's it, little girl!"

"HOLY... rusted metal, Batman!" Spidey was out of the way the next second, having set up a double web-line in order to yank himself out of the path of Lori's blast, anyway. This required another line to get him completely out of the radius, and... He was going to have to make another batch of webbing reeeeally soon.

Spider-Man had made it out of the way just in time for a large blast to go sailing through half of the building and clip part of the building he was on.
As some of the smoke cleared a bit, another blast that was smaller and more precise flew out and crushed the ground behind the mother's feet. Destroying the webbing enough that when she fell over from the aftershock, she was freed of it. Cursing and clutching herself thanks to the pain from Firestar's fire.
A moment later, a man with silver hair and a loose fitting purple jacket walked out of the rubble. He kept one gauntlet arm aimed at Spiderman, and the other at his side, ready and waiting. He glared up at the red clad hero with a sense of hatred that he'd never really showed in any of their previous encounters. Except...for that last one in the warehouse. There was something slightly different with his gauntlets as well. As if he'd spent some time giving them a bit of an upgrade in his spare time. Goodness knows he had a lot of it in prison.

A snarl engulfed Firestar's features as she put up an energy sheath around herself, "If you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen."
Then, she fired at the little girl's hands, then aimed at the little villainess' feet to make them feel like she was walking on hot coals.
