Cricket seemed to have let the gnomes wander unnoticed (even if her children had not, a stray centipede or spider here or there crawling on the poor gnomes who probably would have known better than to try and kill them in spite), sighing as she put the papers into a nice pile and turning her observations to Kasumi again.

What a strange request.

"You're always free to come to my office, though I can't say I have much advice on being a ghost. As for a counselor.." she paused and made the most uncharacteristic of faces, before this almost devious grin came over her face. Just what was she thinking about right then?

"I'm sure I can find them somewhere... last I heard, the undead had made good friends with him."

"But yes, you're free to wander, just don't..." she paused and trailed off, seeming to have finally noted that she was speaking to another ghost. "Ah, you won't have a problem with them then.."

As though to emphasize, one of the glowing marks around her arms seemed to writhe and a 'head' pushed out of the green-and-clear surface that was her 'skin', looking around and gnashing like it has pincers.

Oh her little babies.

Chuppi gave a grunt of effort to help Shehk help her out of the hole and it was probably really amusing to see such a big student put so much effort into getting something under three feet out of the ground. Chuppi's diminutive 2' 7" did nothing for the weight that kept her stuck in place, but she was so glad that Shehk was a nice person and wanted to help her be free. The young girl didn't even make a remark about Chuppi's bulk being the cause of her falling through! She'd used the word 'muscles' instead and Chuppi took that to heart, thinking that maybe she was getting stronger because of working at track. Temes had never been out of shape, she was always able to run and jump with the best of them, but she was always fat.

The Chupacabra was about to go up and turn her paper in when the girl with the straw-hair came in and started talking to the teacher - this was the girl who had the Spanish talking! Instantly Chuppi's heart pumped up when she heard the girl say something in her native tongue, though the joy quickly deflated at the way the other spoke. If Chuppi's mother had been here there would have been yelling about speaking improperly and not paying attention to grammar. Since the woman wasn't here Chuppi took it upon herself to act as the teacher - after all, Spanish was all on her.

"Excuse me but. . ..I...I think you mean 'BueNAS dias', not 'buenos'. And I think....Ms. Cricket is a Senoritta. She may not like being called Senora if she is not married."

Normally Chuppi wouldn't have said anything at all about someone speaking to someone else, but this girl was using her native tongue! Surely she knew what she was doing, right? Even if it was casual it still had made the Chupacabra hope that this person might be able to hold a conversation with her, but a simple mistake in a common greeting told her otherwise. It was saddening and as the little monster struggled to climb into her seat she gave off a very faint sigh.

Of course it was only after she sat down that she remembered she had turned her paper in yet! She took the time to swing herself down from the chair and trot up to the desk, carefully listening to the floorboards this time, and she placed her paper on top of the others as best she could reach. (Which of course meant it was sitting on the corner of the desk and threatening to fall off).

"Here you are, Professora."

Chuppi almost wanted to ask if she'd done it correctly but that would have made things worse than usual. Instead she kept her mouth shut and scampered to the back of the classroom, once again trying to climb into the chair. It took several tries but eventually she was in place, ready to learn if they were actually going to have a lesson or something.

Rain wanted to help her friends if something happened to them so this class seemed like an obvious choice. She liked the decor too and felt at home within seconds of walking through the door. She smiled at Shehk though she did not say anything. She took her paper and jumped over to the nearest desk. It was so old, it looked like it would break apart. Perfect!

She glanced down at the paper and frowned. She wasn't sure she knew what these things meant. Some of it seemed familiar but she couldn't quite place it. What were the other students putting down? Some looked like they were writing a novel. She envied the breathers for their working brains. Their yummy, working brains.

She didn't know what to think of the teacher. First of all, what was she? She looked so damn weird. Not a bad weird though. Just weird. She better get used to it. There was a whole lotta weird going on at this school and she was loving almost every minute of it. Not so much minutes like this though. Minutes that required logical thinking. It wasn't fair. It wasn't her fault that her brain didn't work as well as living ones.

Hypothermia. That had to do with the cold, right? Rain couldn't remember a time when she ever felt cold. Hell, she couldn't remember a time where she felt much of anything at all. What would she do to someone if they were cold? Why, she'd sit on them. Isn't that what mother birds did to their young? As well as other animals? Yes, you sit on them. Sit on them and warm them up!

Hyperthermia was next. She was sure it had to do with temperatures too. Perhaps the opposite of cold? If someone was running hot, what would she do? When her brain soup was always too hot, she'd stick it in the freezer for awhile and cool it down. Would that work for her friends? She'd just have to remember to get them out.

Choking was an easy one! All you had to do was run and tackle the person to the ground right? The force alone would dislodge anything in the mouth. If that didn't work, she could always reach in and pull the object out but she wasn't sure that would go over well with most of her friends. Tackle seemed like an appropriate response.

Lack of breathing... well, duh. That student would just have to be undead with her. There was lots of room at the dorms. Seemed like an obvious answer. She could always use some more undead friends.

Excessive Bleeding was a trick question. Chances are, if one of her friends were bleeding it was because she had bit them. She frenzies sometimes when she gets really hungry and though she doesn't usually have a taste for monster flesh, stranger things have happened. She would have to apologize to the friend and maybe she could use some of her own bandages to help them? Maybe she'd even offer to kiss it and make it right but that's only if it wouldn't be too weird.

Allergic Reaction. What was this? What was an allergic reaction? Did it have something to do with an attack? Was it like.. a virus? Infection? Plague? Or was it simply what happened when you insult someone too much? Whatever it was, it wasn't her fault. It was the monster named Allergic's fault. Damn Allergic and his reactions!

Broken bone seemed easy enough too. Her father always told her that there was nothing that a hammer and nail couldn't fix and that worked just as well for zombies. It didn't occur to Rain that most other races could feel pain and might require an alternative fix to a broken bone.

She was done and she was pretty pleased with herself. She wasn't sure if her answers were correct but at least she had answered them all! That was something to be proud of. She walked over to turn her paper in, smiling shyly at the teacher. Now that she was done, she wondered what to do now.

"Hello, everyone. I'm Rain Rottingham and I hope to save your lives or unlives in the near future!" She was optimistic about this class. She couldn't wait to go save lives. Be a hero. Wouldn't that be new for a zombie? She'd be the zombienator or something, right?

What the hell was this? How were they supposed to learn anything in a dump like this? It smelled absolutely horrible and she wasn't sure if it was due to the bad condition of the room or the students within. She had noted a few undead at the very least and nothing smelled worse than bad meat.

Was she late? It seemed as if the papers had already been handed out and some were even turned in. She had a knack for being late but what was that phrase? Better late than never, right? Besides, her hair had needed the extra brushing. Perfection didn't always come as easy as she'd like.

She walked over to where the leftover papers sat and picked one up. She didn't bother to glance at it. Instead, she looked around the room and wondered where the hell she was supposed to sit. This place was getting worse by the moment and it looked like one of the students had even fallen through the floor? She was in the process of being helped. The irony, wasn't that what this class was about? To learn to help others when they needed it? Did that include protecting students from the poor conditions of the school? Her father would have to hear about this.

She settled for the desk that seemed both sturdy and marginally clean. Regardless, she'd have to wash her clothes and take two showers when she returned to her bedroom. She sat her mimic down and opened him up, pulling out a pink pen. He really was a handy companion to have. Finally, she glanced down at her paper and groaned, perhaps a little more loudly than she had intended.

This paper was boring. What the hell would she do in these situations? It didn't occur to her to use logical answers. Instead, she answered them as honestly as possible for it was faster. It took her no time to finish and when she showed it to her mimic for his opinion, she was surprised to see him eat it.

"GIVE IT BACK, MIMIC!", she yelled, jumping out of her seat. She picked up the little chest and shook it vigorously. "Mimic, if you don't stop acting the maggot right now, I'm going to to paint you pink again! This time, I'll leave the coat on for weeks. WEEKS. YOU GOT THAT?" The little chest shook as if it were laughing or perhaps crying and spat out the paper in two.

"Oh bollocks!" She picked up the pieces and straightened them out. Hopefully the teacher wouldn't mind too much? It wasn't her fault! How was she to know he would react that way? He was usually well behaved. That was when it dawned on her. "Oh," she whispered, "you don't like this place either, do you? Poor thing!" She picked him up and hugged him to her chest. "We won't be here long, I promise." Once he was calmed she picked up the papers and walked over to the desk. She tried to lay them down so that they at least looked like they were in one piece.

"Small mishap," she explained half-apologetically. "It won't happen again," she stated matter-of-factly, speaking to both the teacher and her companion. The mimic bounced slightly at the reprimand. Some undead girl had just announced her name but Morrigan paid no mind to it. She didn't care much for the undeads. Ghosts were okay though but the others.. they just smelled so bad.

Lilura blinked and smiled to the smaller girl as she corrected her spanish. She blushed a little, more in embarressment than anything else. She should have considered speaking correctly instead of thinking about others things while she spoke. It tended to cause her spanish to be rather incorrect. Tartalo sighed and shook his head in disapproval of his little one. She should be more proud and diligent in her speaking. The scythe turned to the smaller creature and bowed, as best a scythe can do.

(this is in spanish, not english)

"Pardon my small one, young lady. She tends to forget her pronounciation skills when she is speaking too much english. I have scolded her many times. Allow me to introduce myself. I Tartalo, enchanted Scythe and familiar to my young child here" he nodded.

"Hey! I can't help it! English is a second language, and a silly one at that," she frowned at her scythe then turned to Chuppi. "Sorry about the bad grammer. My mother would have a ruler across my head if she had heard that. But it's so nice to see another spanish speaker here! My name is Lilura, what's your name? And, if I might ask, what are you?"

(back to english)

Lilura waited for the girl to respond. Tartalo also looked to the girl expectantly.

Arachne pushed open the classroom door, keeping her hood up as she went inside. There seemed to be a fair few seated students already - not all of them demons and she sniffed faintly. Was she late? The Professor..well Nurse in this case didn't bark at her on entering so she guessed not. There was a scritching sound of pencils, pens..and possibly other things being used on paper, and she picked up her own as she went past the Nurse's desk.

It wasn't as if she really cared for saving anyone other than herself at this juncture, but it was a lesson, knowledge and she knew her Grandmother would require updates as to how her schooling was going. As Arachne took a seat, (taking due care to sit nowhere near anyone she felt was undesirable) she noticed for the first time how alive the floor looked. Well, she had a light step so that was good, and she turned her attention to the paper she had put on the desk in front of her.

Now she pushed back her hood, and slipped her gloves off her hands as it wasn't easy to write with them on. Ugh..what sort of questions were these? She was fairly sure she wouldn't put herself in situations where these would happen, and if they happened to a student near her..well wasn't that what servants were for? She shook her head and began to write.

Once she'd finished she pushed the paper away and pulled out a pack of tarot cards, shuffling them as she looked around the room. Two other demon ghouls caught her eye as she laid out a few cards on the desk.

Maritess did not mean to be late. She did not mean to be one of those stragglers to class. She had always been one of the first to arrive in her old school, back in her small town, mostly because her parents would never let her sleep in (even on weekends!) and had no qualms about dragging her out of bed and forcing her to attend school half-dressed. Plus, she did not want to risk angering her teacher and being sent to detention.

Again.

No, no, no, that must never ever happen again. Tess vowed. And yet here she was, coming into the room and finding it nearly filled up. Apparently she was running on Filipino time, as her mother often snidely remarked whenever someone was running late.

She didn't need to worry about stepping on anything, holes or insects, given her lack of legs. The problem now was where in Jack's name was she supposed to answer the paper being handed out? A quick scan of the room showed her familiar faces (which made Tess feel much better and less nervous) and some unfamiliar ones as well. Carefully, she maneuvered herself to a seat in the back (her wings had the potential to obstruct another student's view), where she folded her bat wings behind her as their claw-tipped ends sank into the wood to keep her upright. Well, she was incapable of sitting given her current state!

Though she had no idea how to deal with most of the problems listed, the manananggal set about answering it as best as she could before turning it in.
User Image

As she flew back to her seat, she gave the students she knew (be it from the Moonlight Masquerade or -shudder- detention) a quick wave and a small smile that showed her fangs. Deciding that if she did anything more, they probably wouldn't appreciate her distracting them from the lesson.

It was all so boring, so mundane and Sin had to suppress a yawn as she watched other students come in. She felt a little bad when she saw a few helping out the little green monster who had been stuck. Quickly she tamped down the guilt and frowned, it wasn’t like it was her fault! She hadn’t shoved the monster into the floor after all, besides shouldn’t monsters be able to get out of such situations? Being stuck in the ground wasn’t very scary, what was next falling down the stairs and lying terrifyingly unconscious on the ground? Was she supposed to go around helping every fool who got themselves into a mess and couldn’t get out of it? No! Still she let her gaze flick over once more relaxing a bit as the small monster was freed, she’d make it up to her…someday.

She turned her attention to the strange ghostly girl who had walked in watching her speak to the professor a few moments. She seemed…interesting, but she couldn’t go around making friends with just anybody. Her first friend would have to be a demon or everyone would get the wrong idea. They would think she was some kind of undead loving, ghost hugging, monster sympathizing weirdo. Her head lifted a bit and her eyes narrowed on the next ghoul to walk in. She was dressed in pink and black, and those were Sin’s signature colors! Then she noticed that the outfit was really quite nice, well put together, and the other ghoul was a demon. Finally another ghoul with a sense of style, Sin quickly lost the glare and examined her a moment longer.

A slow smirk tilted the edge of her mouth when she heard her correcting her mimic.

“You shouldn’t lie to it you know, I have a feeling we’ll be here a while.”

She tossed back her hair and turned to face the other demon. One leg slid up and crossed over the other as she leaned forward with a hand out.

“I’m Sin, Sin Err”

Lizzy walked as fast as she could down the halls, her cloth handbag hanging off her shoulders. When she reached the classroom that she supposedly late for (She couldn't help it! Those irritating tangles in her hair needed to be brushed out before she could leave her room!), she took a deep breath before pushing open the door... And almost fall into a hole near the door in her haste to enter. Rather embarrassed, she could only hope that nobody saw her little stunt before looking around, bowing her head at the teacher and muttering, "Sorry for being late..."

The classroom looked old, dirty and rundown, but the bugs! So many bugs! It was almost like an all-you-can-eat buffet in here! However, Lizzy knew how rude it would be to simply pick a bug from the air and eat it, so she contained her excitement, trying to look her usual self as she scanned the room for a seat. As she did, she spotted a few familiar faces and some new ones, but decided to make her way to the group of girls she had met during the scary movie night, a relieved smile on her lips. When she heard that this class was optional, she had expected most people to skip it... She sat herself down behind Kasumi, offering her a nod of greeting before beaming at the other girls who had arrived before her, "Hey, ghouls! I'm so glad to see that you're all here!"

She then noticed the piece of paper on their tables, and realized that there was one on hers too. Scanning through it, her hand reached into her bag at the same time to pull out a pencil case. Picking out a pale pink pen from it, she started filling out the blanks, her handwriting neat but rather small. Once in a while, she would stop, frown and tap her pen on her chin, but she would always return to writing on her paper with a smile.

"There, done!" She exclaimed to nobody in particular before standing up, heading over to the Nurse-professor (That scarf looks so awesome!) and handing it in. While she consider her academics to be good, she never had any first-aid experience and she wasn't sure if her answers were appropriate... Quickly, she made her way back to her table, heaving a sigh of relief as she stuffed her pen back into the pencil case.

Strange.. Arachne mused to herself as she laid down a card. She laid down Judgement in the upright position and looked at the ghoul that had just entered, a brow raised as she tried to work out was different about her than the others in the room.

The ghoul had an air about her, a very spidery air, and so she looked closely at her. She had yet to make anyones formal acquiantance as she had been tucked away in her dorm room getting everything just right, and so during these first lessons had been the most students she'd come across.

Her natural ability was being a seer, but she had a kinship with spiders as well. It wasn't more than that, she had no influence over them, but they seemed to like being around her. And she liked being around them, and the marvellous webs they made.

Letting out a small almost unhappy noise as he realized that his seat in all it's practicality was completely useless in terms of attracting any kind of conversation, Valk found himself growing internally irritated at his own body for compromising his social endeavors. If only his wings had been smaller, then he wouldn't have had to sit in the back of the classroom like some kind of socially awkward outcast. He would just have to make up for it by shoving himself into a conversation.

Shoving the small plastic -or was it wood? - chair back and into the wall behind him, the youth snatched up his paper and stepped his way towards the front of the class, making sure to go through a section of the class where people had flocked too so as to at least be faintly noted. Bits and pieces of conversation were picked up but sadly nothing he really could join in on. It would have been easier if he had met some of the other students prior to classes, but he was a late admittance - only just managing to get into the school before the classes had begun.

Careful not to step on any of the creepy crawlies that seemed to flock towards their equally creepy looking teacher, the winged male set his answer sheet down amongst the small pile similarly completed sheets. Beside him, a rather chipper zombie was making her introduction to the class. Almost subconsciously he found himself smiling at her enthusiasm and unable to keep such a thing to himself he clapped the girl on the shoulder in a friendly, supportive gesture.

"I like your attitude!" He said with a bright grin, eyes twinkling slightly to show his amusement before adding something else into his statement. "Just so long as you don't go trying to make injuries just so you can heal them." It was a joke, or at least it was meant to be. He wasn't sure how the girl would take his words.
PostPosted: Thu Oct 07, 2010 1:58 pm

She was surprised to be spoken to at first but the surprise gradually faded when she noticed who had spoken. It was another demon, a very pretty one at that. She had all the curves in the right places and it was enough to make her a bit jealous. She was probably a succubus or a lust demon. It would make sense. She bit her lip to hold her tongue. It wouldn't be nice if she pointed out how funny she found the other demon's name. Sin Err was pretty damn hilarious though Sin as a first name was gorgeous. In the end, she decided it was fitting of the demoness.

"Oh, I never lie to Mimic," she responded with a mischievous smile while shaking the offered hand. "I'll sneak out of the class if I have to. Heck, I could slip right into the floor unnoticed, I'm sure." That was her in a nutshell. She was the rebel, the prankster, the mischief maker and the troublemaker, both for herself and for others. It was simply her nature. In fact, she wished she had been wearing the shock ring so that her new acquaintance would have gotten a buzz from the encounter. She'd have to think ahead next time.

"I'm Morrigan," she stated with another smile, "and this is Mimic." The small chest bounced slightly in response and the lid opened up slightly to briefly show his glowing eyes. He was making an assessment of Sin. She would find out what he thought of the other demon later. Of course, knowing Mimic, he was probably just ogling the other ghoul's boobs.

Rain's jaw nearly dropped to the floor. A boy had spoken to her! A boy had touched her! He had even complimented her! At least, she thought it was a compliment. He seemed genuine enough, happier than most in the classroom. She liked that. "Oh, I'd never.. not on purpose at least." She had pretty good control of her hunger and the school cafeteria was well stocked in things that would appease her appetite. Of course, it was hard to say what would happen if someone was really bleeding. Monsters, undead, demons, etc, that didn't bother her so much. Reapers on the other hand.. they were so similar to humans and their blood and flesh was appealing. Even this boy before her was a temptation but she could control it. As good as they looked, they did not taste as good as humans.

"You have big wings," she stated simply and honestly, with obvious admiration in her voice. It was hard to tell for sure but it looked as if each individual wing was as big as, if not bigger! "Are they heavy?" Surely he had to be really strong to control such large wings. She imagined he'd make a good casketball player. Why, he could just fly up for the slam dunks! She wasn't sure if he was the sporty type though.

Upon arriving at Nurse Cricket’s office, Gargantuan had decided he was hungry. The glittery creepy crawlies that were just about everywhere reminded him that he’d only eaten just a little while ago, and that was a sad thing indeed. Thankfully, upon further shuffling into the room, G realized there were people he recognized in this place! This was very good; it was dark and quiet in here, and reminded G very strongly of a particular bathroom he’d managed to finally escape from.

A whine stuck in his throat at the thought.

But look! There was Chuppi, and Puppy, and Rain! And that girl with her missing legs... G still didn’t understand that bit, but he was already certain he liked the girl. Then again, he liked everyone. Oh, but what was this? A paper? G practically beamed at Puppy when she gave it to him, but then found himself staring at the sheet blankly.

He didn’t know what any of those words meant.

“Um.” Gargantuan tilted his head this way and that, and he may or may not have given the paper a teeny tiny little taste. He didn't eat it though, he knew better now! Almost.

Immediately reminded that he was hungry again, the swamp beast let out a sigh, gingerly digging around for the pen that Mr. Blobby had given him. He had tried to eat the pen. Once. Then the pen had bit back, and G had never exactly been inclined to try that particular stunt again.

Ignoring the pen's outraged hiss, G allowed his mind to wander even as he scribbled down his answers.

...At least he read the last one.

Kasumi watched as other students entered, filled out the paperwork and took their seats. She was surprised that so many had filed in one after another. Two spider-looking ladies, a man with large wings, a zombie and a few others she didn't recognize. Miss Nurse Cricket was really her focus, even though she didn't seem all that warm and friendly. She just wanted another ghost to talk to. Too few of them existed on the campus, she found, and sighed. When Miss Nurse Cricket explained that there was a guidance counselor, Kasumi's countenance brightened, but it faded away just as fast when that peculiar look washed over the nurse's face. Hmm. She must not be allowed to say what had happened to the counselor for whatever reason.

Kasumi sat back in her seat and watched the others converse. So many people she'd never met before! But Tess was here, and she gave a wave to the girl. Before things could get any more comfortable, a rather large GIANT GREEN THING appeared in the doorway. The ghost balked at his sheer size before realizing it was rude to stare and she turned around in her seat. Would these desks fit something of that size? Plus, he was clearly a man, so all that girth had to go into crushing tiny things and eating things and... oh the horror! Images of the little spiny girl being gobbled up rushed through her brain.

But then he sat down.

Turning about in her seat, Kasumi kept an eye on the Giant Green Thing. Penmanship didn't seem to be his strong point. And neither was being incredibly social. Or so she thought. She hunched over the back of her chair, eying the brute (who was, in her mind, a walking death machine tinted a cheery shade of peridot) while he wrote down his answers. Yes, it wasn't polite to stare, but it wasn't polite to swallow someone whole! Or crush their tiny skulls under huge green feet! Or strangle them with that tail!

BEASTLY THING.
