"Or is it that you have nothing better to do with your time?" Seth shot back, accompanied with a smirk. "Because I can fix that."
However that smirk faded at Aila's next words, Seth's voice turning ice cold as he replied. "Indeed, and those trainees only become elites after years of hard work and experience. Very few make the cut."
Seth then extended his hand impatiently, indicating that she should give the papers to him.

"I would like to believe that this is a meaningful way to occupy my time. However, if you have knowledge of some task that would serve a more consequential purpose, I would be happy to hear it." She detected a distinct possibility that she would come to regret those words.
"Of course," she said, her expression shifting to the professional demeanor with which she had dealt with gem customers in the past. She bore no delusions on the length of time it would take for her to reach the goal towards which she aspired. "I dare not imagine any less." She raised the papers to the height of his extended hand and deposited them into his care, rising to the balls of her feet to do so. She sank back to her natural height and folded her arms behind her in a loose "at attention" position.

"I do actually." And Seth handed the thick folder back to Aila. "Computer data entry and filing."
Seth gave her a smug look. "Make yourself useful. That's the first step in rising through the ranks." He raised a brow at her to see if there would be any objection.
It would certainly lighten his load, plus his recent headaches made staring at a screen for too long, unbearable.

She accepted the folder back into her hands, glancing at the contents with a hum. "Certainly," she assented. Such work sounded menial, but it was a necessary task, she was sure. If it was within her capacity to do so, she would gladly carry it out. Furthermore, she had a great deal of experience with digital spreadsheets and databases, and so she was confident in her ability to perform efficiently. Never mind her strange want of Seth's acknowledgment, likely stemming from her admiration of the man. "Shall I make use of the first available processor, then?"

Seth almost looked at her with disbelief, almost. She was being... very agreeable with the whole thing. He expected a complaint, at least a groan or a face... something that told him she didn't want to do it. However, she actually being... Lugia forbid... helpful. He really wasn't sure what to make of it.
Thus the elite just lifted a brow at her question, frowned slightly, and then motioned her to follow him. He took her down past a few more cubicles to an empty one and pointed at the computer there. "This one will do. Just use your usual login to access it." Everything she would need would be on there.

Aila followed obediently at his gesture, stopping in front of the computer and moving to take the seat. "Very well," she replied, small fingers dancing on the keys to input her login information. The desktop loaded, and she searched for the proper program, flipping through the contents of the folder with her free hand. It was a lot of information, but she didn't foresee it taking more than a couple of hours. "And when I have finished here, is there any other task to which I should attend?"

"If I think of something by the time you're done filing," he grumbled. "And the filing cabinets are just down the hall." They were pretty easy to find. "You can find me in my office. Just ask someone to show where it is. I have work to do."
And with that, Seth took his leave. He was undoubtably going to check that surveillance issue that she had brought up.

"Understood. I thank you for this opportunity."
And with that she was at work, quickly settling into her pace. It was a tedious job, but it was relaxing, and something within Aila was happy to finally do meaningful work.
