Solo Role Play: Five Minutes Til Midnight Five more minutes... Five more minutes then 2011 comes to an end and 2012 to begin. As I sit here at my aunt's and uncle's farmhouse staring out of the window and up at the moon, I can't help but wonder about what await me the coming year. Would I change myself in some ways or just stay the same, old me...? Would I make some real friends or just continued to clings to friends that just hung with me just cause they felt sorry for me...? Would I have the courage to stand up for myself and those around me or just stand there...? I wish I have a crystal ball so I can see what 2012 has in store for me but I don't...
I look away from the moon then to my families, a soft smile over my lips. They all look so happy about the coming year. I wish I can feel the same, but I don't. I just sigh softly and lift my new iPod, filled with songs and bands that I knew would help me as I sit pretty much alone somewhere in the house. It was my only Christmas present this year and I was very happy to get it. I look through the lists of band, stopping on a name then click on it. As I look through the list of song, I could heard everyone yelling that then was two minutes left. Someone was pouting some red wines into those plastic cups and someone else passing them out to all those old enough to drink it. When I stop on a song, my families was calling each other over to one room in the house. I never heard anyone calling out for me. I click play and stare back out to the moon as everyone began to count down. 5... 4... 3... 2... 1... HAPPY NEW YEAR! I just sigh softly once more and told myself, "Happy New Year..."
