I just found out about a week or so ago that my husband considers himself to be a furry. I'm trying to be open minded, but I'm not really sure how to handle this other then to tell him I love him and support his hobbies. eek

Lady -Wizzard- Karris I just found out about a week or so ago that my husband considers himself to be a furry. ...how devoted is he? >3>;;

It's just an online thing for him and been for quite awhile apparently. He really feels part of his personality is very cat like. This doesn't really bother me, but it does force me to re-examine my feelings about furries. My experiences with them have been less then positive in the past, there are a lot of EXTREMELY devoted furries in the pagan world and they are very in your face "accept me or you are an intolerant nazi" type of people.
And it also bothers me a bit that I'm married to him and was oblivious to this. I'm not mad that he never really told me or made a big deal of it, he knows about my past with furries, but that I feel like a bad wife I missed seeing this part of him or that he felt the need to suppress it from me. I feel as if I failed him somehow.

God damn it, I don't know why but lately I've just been way too easy to piss off. It's been happening for like a month now, and I'm sure some of it is showing on here. Even the slightest little thing can make me frustrated or flustered or get me in that kick a newborn puppy mood. Well, at least now my BFF's back from Ohio so I can annoy her to no end. xd

I really don't think my right leg going numb or having sharp pain while walking is normal. Admittedly, I am lame/crippled for life, but I don't recall this happening as frequently as it does now. O_O
That being said, I'll have to wait until I get back to the States before I can have it checked because I don't have the money I need to pay out of pocket while I'm here in Austria. :/

Some people just don't like talking about the kinds of thing they're into when it's that kind of thing that can be taken negatively. I might not be married or anything, but watching my parents who've been married for over I think...30 years(?) still only just learning about each other definitely makes me think that learning one new thing about someone doesn't make you any less devoted. ouo
On the other hand, I now feel guilty for being unsure how long my parents have been married. XDXDXD Crap... I know my borther is 35, so that must mean.... /ramblerambleramble

I feel as if I failed him somehow. Wh-what? ;3; You shouldn't feel like you've failed him. I haven't heard about your relationship, and it's perfectly understandable that you wouldn't share it with a bunch of zCBers, but you are quite the remarkable lady, Madame Karris. The way I see it, if he didn't tell you about his interest, then either he was self-conscious about it, knew about your not-so-positive experiences with furries and wanted to be respectful by not bringing it up, or the subject simply never arose.
I wouldn't worry about it if I were you. o3o But if you truly think that his hiding it from you somehow makes you a bad wife, then you should talk to him about it. You two love each other for who you each are (at least I HOPE so XD), so this shouldn't negatively influence the way you feel about each other and yourselves. D:
(And yeah, a very significant percentage of the furry population falls under the "accept me or you are an intolerant Nazi" category.)
