James grinned as his potion turned the right color and gained the right consistency. He clapped Severus on the back, perhaps a bit too hard.
"Thanks," he said and turned his attention back to Lily.

Lily looked at Jamesand saw him looking at her. She glared and pointed to his potion. "Work," she told him. He ruffled his hair, which Lily thought was weird, but didn't say anything.

Severus blinked. James had never been as nice to him as in those few moments. He slowly turned back to his potion and continued to mix and pour different ingredients into his cauldron. "Excellent, excellent work, Severus!", Professor Slughorn exclaimed.

Severus blinked. James had never been as nice to him as in those few moments. He slowly turned back to his potion and continued to mix and pour different ingredients into his cauldron. "Excellent, excellent work, Severus!", Professor Slughorn exclaimed. Eliza smiles to Snape, unsure if weather to give him a wink or a thumbs up - as she didn't know if the teacher would tolerate extra talking among students. Especially if one was new to Hogwarts. Still - the aloe seemed to have a positive effect... She retrieves the now empty aloe-vial to refill it from her windowsill garden. Then begins to grind some orange extract to add to the Chamomile and hint of strawberry - the mixture was already simmering. A good cup of tea was healing from the inside wasn't it?

He looked over at Eliza's strange-colored bubbling... thing. " What's that? I've never seen it before!" Being a pure-blood, his family kept muggle objects strictly out of their home, and the only tea they allowed was a greyish homemade flavor.

As Eliza stirs in her next ingredient she is aware of Snape's question. Trying to play it cool she gives him a mysterious smile....
Do you trust me?
She remembers he had not said before that he was allergic to anything and hoped that the combination of flavors would be pleasing to his taste.

Sirius looked over at snape with distaste "I wonder why James let Severus help him." Sirius wondered while attending to his potion.
"Watch that Potion Black it shouldn't be turning violet like that." Said Professor Slughorn.
Just then Sirius looked down on his potion and saw it was bubbling continually he dived under the table just as his potion exploded all over the room.

James laughed as Sirius's potion blew up all over the room. "Hey Padfoot! You're supposed to keep your potion in your cauldron!" he shouted at his friend, still laughing.

Severus frowned and was about to question her ability to make a decent pimple potion (because, well, that's what he thought she was attempting to make) when a big puddle of icky purple potion splattered all over him. Professor Slughorn sighed. "Severus, go get cleaned up. The class is almost over anyways. Next time, Black, make sure you sit Miss Evans who will assist you with your potions." Severus walked out the door, angry and covered in purple slime.
Several minutes later, he came back and waited outside the door as the students were clearing. He wanted to talk to Eliza.

Eliza sighed being covered with the purple goo but tried to think positve.
Well...at least this is a third of what I'd be wearing for Mardi Gras and a half of Washingston state!
She nearly drowned in her thoughts but seeing Snape after class was like giving them an iron-cage lift!
Glad to see you were not disintegrated or demolished in that display...her expression softens, kindly. Are you all right?

"Yeah, I'm fine." He sighed. "Sorry, I didn't catch your name nor house." Severus shook his head, seeing the mess of purple that also covered his friend. "Here, let me help." He took a hankerchief out of his pocket and started wiping the slime off.

"Urm, Sorry about that professor, Yeah I think that would be a nice touch to my potions." Sirius said to Professor slughorn cleaning up his table and wandering over to James.
"What are you thinking letting that slick irritant, fix your potion for you. He could try and ruin it for you, or something like that." Sirius said in a terse whisper.

She wasn't sure if she should tell Snape which how she was in, since most of the people she'd met were in other houses - it seemed Ravenclaws were mostly independent and did not seek out friends. Eliza was the exception. Yet that seemed "too good" for her own benefit. Still rather than continue meet under coincidence, she tried for friendlier if not mutually beneficial circumstances. I'm going to the dungeon in the basement of the castle - to gather some supplies during my free class - would you like to come with me Severus?She did not think to ask him to one of the events at Hogwarts she'd heard of. It was far too early and besides; a girl had to be rounded in both outside interests and school to keep a guy's attention. Especially one like Snape.

Severus smiled and put away his soggy hankerchief, having finished cleaning Eliza up. "Sure! There's lots of things in Hogwarts you wouldn't like to encounter alone." He shivered.
