Well what do you know, for once he seemed to be acting serious. No more snide remarks and that annoying smile was finally gone. Still if there was one thing Terreis disliked above anything else was when someone apologized when told about a death. "Do not apologize, you were not the one who caused Kaelin to die so those words are empty." Why apologize for a death you did not cause?" And honestly had he caused her mothers death, well he wouldn't be alive right now now would he.
Well now that he knew she supposed he could be on his way. Or should she invite him to stay at the pack for the night? That was what any other wolf in YMCA would do and yet, Terreis felt like she couldn't quite trust this wolf. If only she knew of the bond they actually shared. Perhaps she did, and was just refusing to accept it.

His brow furrowed. What an utterly strange reaction to have, he thought. Not entirely sure how he felt about this bizarre wolf he had come across, Adonai shrugged. "The event seems to have brought you much pain, and I sympathize for the pain of others -- even strangers," he said, by way of explanation. "But I'm beginning to suspect that no words I speak will sit well with you, so I shall commence to hold my tongue."

"It is normal to feel pain due to a death of one who was close to you." She explained to him in a neutral tone. "I can only hope that I can have an honorable warriors death like my mother one day." Those words slipped out before she even realized she was saying then. Why on earth did she just tell him that? Now he would know that Kaelin was her mother. Was that a bad thing? No, not entirely. Terreis was proud to be her mothers daughter, but to say such a thing to a stranger who had once known her mother seemed a bit odd.
Glancing off into the trees for a moment Terreis decided it was best to just change the subject and quickly. With her attention focused back on Adonai she spoke. "If you are looking for a place to rest for the night then this is it. YMCA welcomes all who enter her border." It felt horribly odd offering a place to stay to this male, had she still been a part on Antianeira the sisters would have chased him out by now. But this new life, while often boring as all hell, was what she had accepted when she paired up with Derecho.

He nearly missed what she had said for a moment, and as such she was halfway into her next sentence before it clicked in his head. "Wait -- " His eyes widened, slightly, and then narrowed. "Your mother? Kaelin didn't have any pups...heavens, you can't be that young?"
Oblivious to her offer to stay now, he stood and pressed in closer, standing alongside Terreis, eyes narrowed and looking her over with sudden burning curiosity. He was a large wolf, and well-muscled, and there was something slightly silky about his pelt, which was just a shade longer than average. "...And what of your father?" He asked, suddenly extremely curious. "How is he dealing with...your departed mother?"

"A single litter." Terreis replied, though she wasn't about to share the details of how many siblings she had. She still did not trust this male to part with that kind of information. "And I assure you, I am not that young." Certainly she wasn't that old either. Eying him suspiciously as he stepped closer Terreis took note of a few things she hadn't noticed right off the bat. Mainly being how silky he fur looked. She knew of only one other wolf that had that type of fur and that thought made her swallow hard and take a few steps back. What she suspected couldn't be true, could it? At least she refused to accept anything at this point.
"My father...I never knew him." She said and turned away. "This way if you wish to stay." Not waiting for his reply she started to walk off. He would follow, she had no doubt, whether it was to seek out more information or to accept the offer of a place to stay was yet to be determined. Though if it was information he was seeking, she would not give it up so easily, for already had she said too much to this stranger.

"Only one litter, hm?" He echoed, his expression suddenly quite shrewd.
"...and you never knew your father," he added, following after her, muscles shifting easily beneath his pelt, the stride of a wolf that's used to getting his way in life. "I see."
But if he was planning to say more, the words never came. He followed instead in contemplative silence. Well now....this would certainly make for an interesting night, he thought, and began walking faster to catch up with her.
