"Give me one good reason I shouldn't?" Sera answered back with a smile on her face. She knew he would be shocked to hear her say this but something about him stuck her. Even if he was out 'hunting' for Amerald, she wasn't going to let him live on the streets to do so. No life was worth that.

As a mouse ran above, Sera's shoulder's relaxed. This was also their home.

"Sometimes you just want to do something for others. And honestly, I like not having the same clients come to me for lavish expansions. A restoration would be a nice change for both of us."

Reaching out a hand for him, Sera looked up. "All I need is your permission and one signature. From there, I can take care of the paper trail and leave a few details out here and there. Last I checked, they weren't regularly dropping by the smaller shops. After that, the design is yours to run with. Provided your bank account holds up."

Jonas was really taken for a loop by Sera. Really truly he could give a few good reasons but hey, she probably wouldn't care anyway. "A good one is you don't really know me." He said with a shrug as he heard the mouse run by and looked up. "Guess he agrees with you."

"True. I'm guessing that's something you get commissioned a lot for that." He said looking up at the ceiling. "You don't know how much I appreciate this. Thank you so much." He said looking at her with a thankful smile. Maybe it was a good thing her boss didn't come.

He reached his hand out to her's and nodded his head. "Well I guess your getting. Alright, you have to go get the document?" He asked her tilting his head a little. "I like to keep it the same...although instead of that stupid garden a dirt patch to train on would save my floors." He said smiling.

"I don't blame him." The woman smiled as she saw the small creature disappear into another room it had made up there. "Who would want to be forced out of their home for something that wasn't their fault? But I am glad to see you listen to your mice. Would hate to have to make you hear out the termites. They seem to just rebel and eat faster." A joke she figured he wouldn't get but it was her own way of saying that this wasn't just for him. He housed other guest she bet Jonas had never seen nor ever would. She just had to make sure they came back at some point.

Now it was her turn to smile happily. "One could say I came prepared." Slipping her hand out from under her jacket, Sera held a piece of paper folded into fours. "I was told it was a rather old building. When that is the case, I always bring one of these along." Holding it out between two fingers, Sera gave a small shrug. "It's a release form stating that I am your face when it comes to handling all aspects of the historical records and such. This way, you never have to deal with them and you still get what you want. As for the design...we will see."

That garden wasn't going anywhere. Not if she had anything to do with it. Well, it might just move a bit. But what needed to go was the stone. He would just damage more if left alone. "But I need to ask one thing. Is it just you here?"

He scratched his head for a moment as he got her joke to a point. A polite smile crossed his face as he thought of the termites. "Oh I bet they would. So far their doing a great job! Although I hope they don't come back too soon."

He leaned forward to look at the document for a moment studying it. "Ahy, I'll sign that for you." He said quickly going over it and seeing no issues with it. What could he lose anyway? If he didn't agree he was going to be out on the street. He took the paper from her and quickly signed his name before handing it back.

Jonas was a little perplexed by her question. He personally didn't see why it mattered but hey she was the boss. "Yes I am. As long as you don't count my little house mates."

Sera had to smile. The man was trying and even though her twisted humor was hard to get, he seemed to grasp hold of something in her words. At least with age didn't come too many forgotten brain cells. "I think they can handle themselves just fine."

Taking the paper back from him, Sera gave a small nod in thanks. It was a simple deal that could really save him some time and headaches. She knew the people and as long as they didn't ask questions, she could have the design within the month.

"That makes my life a good deal easier. Means I don't have to argue for more land but just keep it as is. To expand is rather annoying for all as it means you have to live without a few walls for a bit. Oh! One more thing..."

Sera smiled and motioned with one finger back out the hallway. "You might want to invest in something to cover that room. Hate to have it rain on you."

Jonas watched her for a moment smiling before a thought crossed his mind. His shop wasn't too kid friendly and he didn't want his possible future child to get hurt. Hurt, wasn't he planing to make a killer. "I hope they can. I have a request..." He said shifting his jaw a moment before speaking, it would seem weird since he was much to old to have a kid but he could lie.

"My brother sends his kid from Korr to my house during the school year for a private school. I was wondering could you make it more...kid friendly?" He said not knowing for sure if the school year started yet.

He looked down the hall thinking about it. The open cieling area's of his house were made for rain to poor down either into his pool or into the garden. But in that portion of the building...yeah he didn't need the demolition starting early. "I'll do that."

"Kid friendly?" The request caught her ears as a little strange. There wasn't a reason it should be but this man, housing a child? Now that was something she would pay to see.

Then again, thinking back to it, she was someone just like that not too long ago.

"I'll...I'll see what I can do." She stumbled looking around once more and chuckled. "Though that might take a bit more work than you think."

Stepping away, she back towards the door. "So I guess I should be running. I'll send you a bill later then?"

"Yeah..." He said folding his arms and looking away for a moment. It felt so weird requesting that but he was so close he couldn't risk anything. Even possibly in the future.

"Thank you. I appreciate it." He said nodding his head feeling the sudden pangs of being old. Something he rarely felt.

He looked up as she stepped away looking at the door. "Ahy." Was his only response as he continued to look at the floor. Feeling every picture, paper, and plan he had just floating around him as if mocking him.

Sera was turning from the man, her job finished up for the day, when something caught her ear. It was a light sound of the bell she had heard when she first arrived. At first, she ignored it, believing it to be a customer who didn't see the giant hole in the wall. A moment later, Sera wished it was just that.

"Mommy?"

The small female voice screamed out and echoed through the historical building.

Sera froze in place. "Lorena..." She whispered quickly turning back to catch Jonas' eye. "Would you excuse me." Diving into the courtyard just as a red head poked around the corner. Of course she had forgotten to wear the clock her mother had bought her meaning who knew had seen the wings. Her mother's heart sank.

"What are you doing..."

Sera never finished the statement. The girl's cries had shaken a few loose stones to the point of falling right where the child stood.

"LORENA!"

Jonas mental thought was suddenly knocked away as soon as he heard the bell and instinctively pushed himself up. A small grumble came out from underneath his breath at forgetting to show the closed sign on the door.

The sudden little girl's scream took him by utter surprise and he froze beside Sera. He didn't hear what Sera said at all. he name was numb to him but he caught sight of the wings and instantly knew. "A hraapea..." He said watching her before he noticed the few stones starting to shake loose and started to walk at a brisk pace. "Watch out!" He said his staying on the stone.

As he saw the stone getting to the point of no return he suddenly went into a dead sprint that someone his age shouldn't be able to do. As he got close enough he made to push her out of the way. He didn't care about his own safety, he had a full life. The girls was more then worth saving, not just because she was a child but a hraapea child.

As a mother, Sera's natural response took over. Her legs began to move but deep down she knew that she would never be fast enough. (Mostly because of those heels). With panic quickly filling her blood, Sera almost missed the blur of a man rushing past her...almost.

Time froze as the stones began to fall. Sera's legs slowed and her eyes went wide. She couldn't see past the image.

Lorena was staring wide eyed at the man running towards her. Head slightly cocked, she only looked upward when he called out. Just as she saw the rock, her small body went flying backwards. Stumbling on her legs, the child hit the ground and rolled several times before stopping in a mess of dirt, gravel, and feathers.

An echo filled the atruem as both blue eyes and green looked towards where the man had been running to. A cloud of dust had formed signally that these weren't the only stones that had fallen but the rest didn't matter. A human life was at stake.

"Lorena! Talk to me!" Sera's voice called out through the dirt.

"Mommy! A strange man pushed me. Why?"

Jonas didn't know how the whole thing went. He remember hearing the heels; then he felt the push, and finally something hit him hard in the back and he lost his pain and sudden numbness.

It took him a moment to understand what his eyes were seeing. His vision was blurry and grey and he was slowly being able to make out images. He looked up at the little girl his world still spinning. After a few moments he suddenly felt the searing hot pain course through his back. He shakidly felt what it was, a slab of stone had hit his back hard. He pushed it off weakly and laid grasping for breath. Each deep breath brought a sharp piercing pain.

As he went to talk he suddenly found himself coughing up pain in horrible pain. He tried to stand only to give cringe back as pain exploded down his back.

"Your okay..." He managed as he looked at Lorena before putting his head to the cool ground, it took away a small fraction of the pain. He didn't notice the blood running out of his mouth.

One hands and knees the little girl crawled towards her unknown savior. Had it dawned on her yet that the pain he was in was meant for her? One couldn't say. Had it appeared to her that she would have died if not for this man? Easy enough to guess it hadn't. Still she climbed closer until she was close enough to make out strands of red hair stuck to her face. "Mister..." Her voice whispered as she placed a hand to her lips. "Why are you bleeding?"

Hearing both their voices was one progressive step in this entire mess.

Sera finally found the will to move her legs again only to hear both Lorena and then the mangled coughing of an older man. "Oh no..." Heels clicking as she ran to where the fallen rubble lay, Sera pushed out a hand to her daughter. "Lorena, get back. Give him some room."

Her voice sounded just as the child was reaching out to touch Jonas. Stopping as she saw her mother, Lorena did as told. The look in those blue eyes told her now was not the time for questions. It was just as firey as when they first met at Amerald's but it wasn't followed by a slap of the hand. "He's hurt."

"Mr. Jonas. Stay with me. Can you hear me?"
PostPosted: Mon Aug 30, 2010 6:48 pm

The sight of the little girl moving close to him was still something his mind wasn't able to comprehend yet through the pain. In his current state he could of thought she was a figment of his imagination. The words that came out from her was soft and comforting but they brought a sudden realization him that he was laying in a pool of growing blood. He seen guys do this before, internal bleeding, unless to a doctor it was like drowning in your own blood.

Jonas suddenly heard the frantic sounds of clicking again as his world started to finally take form. He watched Lorena step away from him and found himself looking at Sera's ankles.

A cough of blood and he started to feel light headed but he could speak. "I...must say...I enjoy the view from here." He said giving a strained laugh, blood loss was starting to kick in and his judgment was starting to get impaired. A feeling of numbness coming in his fingers.

Lorena's eyes went up to her mother trying to see what the man meant. All she could make out was her mother's front figure. What was to enjoy about that? Every woman had it. Well, at least every woman she had seen. Even Anna and Bella had them and they were like her.

"And I suddenly have a right mind to double your bill..." Sera mumbled as she dropped to her knees. Reaching out, fear, worry, and a bit of annoyance showed in her face. She was already able to see the blood running from inside of him but what really scared her was when those icy fingers met her own warm ones. He was losing time. If they didn't get him...

The sound of several rocks falling again made the women turned their head. From this angle, Sera could see that the entrance was blocked. She couldn't bite her tongue quick enough to stop from cursing.

Lorena's eyes winced. She had heard that word before used poorly and it didn't sound good. "Mommy...you promised..."

"Lorena, this isn't the time! Can't you see he's hurt..." Sera's face was white. Thoughts raced through her mind about what to do. Heck, she didn't have any medical training. Most she could do was wrap a wound. This...where was the source?

"Is that why he's bleeding?" Lorena asked as she closed the distance between the three of them. Green orbs locked on Jonas' face with a child-like innocence. She really didn't understand why her mother was in a panic or this man was freezing. All she knew was something was building up inside of her....

Healing Light

The words just came from no where as a blinding lightly covered Lorena and passed over towards Jonas.
