Well I think its Nobel of him to try to attack without killing people, but with any action there will always be unintended consequences. Because if you kill someone, someone else will come after you for revenge, if you dont kill them then they have another chance to come after you.
However that doesn't dismiss that Shinn is soo freaken annoying. Leaving Athrun to be the one that has to Man Up in the series.

Well war is not the place to be noble. It is kill or be killed. There is no room for mercy or hesitation. That gets you and your allies killed. You spare an enemy and they can come back to kill you again, and even go after your loved ones.

Yes, however if your killing everyone you come across, then someone else will try to get revenge for that persons death, and the families of who lost them wont ever forgive you, preventing any chances of peace from forming. So the circle of hatred wont end, there's much more to war than killing or being killed.

Excuse me but you need a reality check. Ok You are talking to someone who has actually been in the military. Ok In war you can't think about the enemy's family It is kill or be killed, you may not like it, but that is how it really is. The fantasy romantic looking picture painted in gundam and anime along with most modern movies is a completely false representation of how things really are. In war you have to think about your allies, your side, not try to give a damn about how each and every soldier's family feels that you are fighting against. It doesn't make a spit's bit of difference if they hate you for it. You were doing your duty as a soldier and following orders.

Ah but this isn't reality. In Gundam they give incredible power to one person who can change the shape of the battlefield. In real life that doesnt exist so every moment matters and every second could be your last. But it is true that there is a WHOLE HELL LOT MORE TO WAR THAN JUST FIGHTING!!!

I do know what your saying, yes in the real world its complete BS and wouldn't work. However this is a FICTIONAL WORLD with Giant Mech. Suits given to kids, and is very admirable of Kira to not only try but to pull it off. And my Father has been in the military for almost 30 years now.

And I hate kira for it. He is a freaking hypocrite to the highest degree. Also being in the military and having relative who ar ein i completely different. Almost everybody knows someone who is in.
