Satisfied that she had ended the fight, Freya turned to the younger moonlit who was cowering on the ground. She looked terrified and the starry moonlit immediately felt a pang of guilt and sadness. It was her duty to ensure that Kurai never hurt anyone or overstep her boundaries. She had slacked on her duties recently because no one had heard or seen of her since her puppies had been forcefully removed from her care. Much like the rest of the pack, they had thought that madness had finally taken its hold on her and she perished out here in the woods. Unfortunately, she was very much alive and extremely aggravated.
Deciding to take it one step at a time, Freya focused her attention on the pup who didn't seem to respond to her question. She was about to ask her again but paused when she noticed she was writing something on the ground. Did Kurai hurt her so badly that she can't talk?
"It's alright... this place belongs to no one. I need to get you out of here now and I'll explain everything when you're safe." Freya glanced frantically at Kurai and then back at Leona. "Can you walk dear?"
A blur of blue fur hurled against her and Kurai felt herself being thrown away from the pup. She rolled across the path and slammed against a tree. A strangled sound of pain escaped her but she remained on the ground. The brief pain was paralyzing for a moment and she was unsure of what had struck her until she heard a very familiar voice. Freya was here? A brief flash of memories; a small pup clinging to her.... laughing with her... calling her mom.... Kurai stared at the two; stunned and began to struggle to get to her paws again.

Leona watched the moonlit and studied her lips. One thing she had learned from being a deaf and a mute was to lip read. Because of this her vision and touch tended to be the two main senses she depended on severely. She got up, but quickly wrote down. "This is actually the only way I can communicate. I was born mute and deaf." She pulled herself up and decided to try and make a break for it since she did not want to be around the black wolf. Leona limped her way out of the woods.

With a nod, Freya watched the small wolf limp her way out of the woods. She wanted to follow after to make sure she was safe but first there was the matter of her mother. She had not only injured a small child but she had attacked someone who was unable to communicate with her properly. She had attacked someone who needed to be protected. She moved to stand in the middle of the path as Kurai began to amble slowly over to her.
"Away with you stars...." Kurai growled as she tried to stalk past her. Freya moved and continued to block her path. "Move aside!"
Letting out a frustrated snarl, she lashed out and swung a paw at her daughter.
Kurai's paw connected with her nose and she winced at the sudden pain. It wasn't enough to knock her off her paws but she knew it would swell later.
"She is gone and away from you." Freya turned and glanced back over her shoulder. "And if you follow me, you will regret ever crossing over the border."
The coldness in her voice surprised them both but Freya took that chance to leave and let Kurai fume alone in the woods as she always wanted. It didn't take long for her to find the edge of the woods and she looked around for the pup she had protected. She let out a few small yips and sniffed at the air as she tried to find her scent.

Leona had gotten far away from the woods and was outside the mansion. She slowed down to catch her breath before noticing the dark blue wolf with stars coming back she cocked her head to the side for a second before heading over to the wolf who had just saved her. She wrote down on the ground once again. "Thank you for your help. I'm sorry I went where I shouldn't of. Normally Midyan helps me, but I have no clue where he went."

Freya let out a sigh of relief to see that Leona had made it safely. She never did enjoy towering over small pups and so she laid down before her and looked at her writing on the ground.
"Oh sweets, don't worry about her. She's half delusional now anyway..." She pushed away the sudden feelings of guilt and sadness and smiled. "Midyan? Who is that? Perhaps I can go find him."

Leona smiled lightly grateful at how she had helped her, even though she did not know who she was. She decided to write on the ground yet again. "Thank you. I wish there was some way I could show my appreciation, but I'm not sure what I can do for you." She looked around the area and sighed a bit before starting to write again. "Midyan is my brother. He..." She stopped writing for a second with a sad look in her face and tried to continue writing. "He left me and I haven't seen him since. Only thing I know is he wanted vengeance on father for leaving us this way." She looked down sadly to the ground and wouldn't look up for a bit. However, eventually she picked her head back up and started writing with a happier look. "He'll probably come back. He cared about me anyways. Otherwise he would of left me dying in the woods at birth. Right?"

Freya read the words patiently as Leona wrote them and she shook her head.
"Don't worry about it sweets, you don't owe me a thing." She said sweetly. Tilting her head, she read the rest of Leona's message and a look of sadness that mirrored Leona's crossed Freya's face. So her brother had abandoned her...and he was on a quest for vengeance? "Your brother is too young to have such thoughts. It'll only drive him into-" Her voice trailed off as she didn't want to finish that thought; not in front of her. "I'm sure your brother loves you. Family must always stay together. And what about your mother? Do you have any other siblings?"
While they were safe here outside of the woods, Freya couldn't leave her alone. And what if she ran into another wolf who couldn't read or bothered to try and understand?

Leona cocked her head to the side for a moment. She kind of understood what Freya was getting at, but she let it slide since she didn't really want to think too much into the fact of her brother going mad with rage. Leona covered up her previous message and wrote out another one. "Well I don't remember my siblings, but I remember there was a female similar in coloring to Midyan, one that was black and blue like me, and one that was black and purple. Mother I have no clue except I must of gotten these dotted markings from her since dad was black and purple with only blue spots. His spots were a different pattern compared to these." She paused for a while thinking. "I think mother was black with these kind of spots I have."

Again Freya patiently read Leona's writing and hoped that she would have someone that would come for her. The more she read however, was starting to make her feel ill to her stomach. She was now raising a black and blue puppy similar in age to Leona and matched the description. But it was not that that unsettled her. It was the description of the pup's mother. She knew those spots had seemed familiar. She had been around for years and the only moonlits that had spots like that were Lucian, Mercutio and....
"No...." Freya rose to her paws and glanced back at the forest. If that were true, Kurai had almost killed her own kin! Looking back at Leona, she shifted nervously. "I.... I believe I know your mother."

Leona looked up at Freya for a moment confused still, but smiling nonetheless before writing down more. "Oh you know mother! That's good she's alive. Midyan said she died and that's why she never came back for us." For a second it started to pour rain almost like it set the mood, except for Leona. She looked up at the sky fascinated by the cold and wet drops that fell on her face and looked around noticing that it would be harder to communicate. However that really didn't disappoint her since she found a big mud puddle. She quickly wrote on the ground. "Do you like to splash in mud puddles too?" Leona then jumped head first into one with a big splat spraying mud everywhere. Now she was a brown, black, and blue moonlit.

Thinking of Lucetta and how she had abandoned her children without a second thought made Freya almost wish Leona's brother had been right and that she had been dead. But that wasn't like her at all and she knew she couldn't wish any harm or death to her "sister". But Freya couldn't help but feel a pang of guilt. She had managed to save two of Lucetta's children and was currently raising them as she did with many of the unwanted puppies in her pack. The "mother of the unwanted" was what her pack sometimes called her.... could have rescued more of her irresponsible sister's children?
Freya hardly noticed the sudden rain, so lost in her thoughts as she was and it was too late to stop the pup from jumping in the mud until it was too late. Looking at the dirty moonlit, she sighed and shook her head.
"What are you doing? You're going to hurt your leg more. You need to get it bandaged soon or it won't heal properly...."

Leona looked up at the adult then looked back down at the mud before dropping her ears. She was right and the pain was still there in her hind leg where Kurai had bitten her. Leona just had a tendency to find something to cheer her up when she was sad and this was the perfect way to feel happy again. Most of her life was naivete about her parents. Her dad she had come to accept was a merciless moonlit who had no desire to have children of his own. Still she kept a happy face most of the time since it was the only thing she could do and pretend that her mother was dead. She wrote down "You're right. I'm sorry. Rain storms and mud puddles tend to cheer me up."

She had slipped into "mommy mode" without realizing it and Freya sighed. She had to remember not to chastise others so much but she couldn't help it. After being in that role for so many years, it was something that came to her naturally. Reading what Leona wrote, she shook her head.
"It's alright, don't worry about it. I just want to get you somewhere safe and looked at. Then you can enjoy the rain later, okay?"
Now came the question of what to do. Should she take her to the vet in town, to Starr's house in the woods or should she take Leona to her own human.... so many choices.
"What do you want to do dear? You need someone to look at that leg. Where is your human?"

Leona looked around for a moment searching the area then looked back towards Freya and sighed before writing again. "Unfortunately she went to get some strawberry mochi treats for us a while back." The idea of strawberry mochi sounded like a really delicious idea right now. She paused a moment trying to think of how long she had been out. "Seiphira said it would take half an hour." Leona then pondered for a while. "Has it been half an hour since you rescued me?"

So her human was busy? Looking up at the rainy sky, Freya knew it would make traveling conditions from the main house to the town worst.
"I don't think it's been that long sweetie." Freya said softly. She stepped over the little pup and tried to shield her and her injured leg as best she could from the rain. Looking down at her, she gave her head a little lick and made up her mind. "I've heard my human talk about your Seiphira before. My home isn't too far away from here and I can have one of the birds there send a message to her. And..." Freya's voice trailed off as she thought about who would be there at the house. A rainy day usually meant a full house and a full house meant that this little pup's family would be there. "And I think there are some wolves who would love to meet you. Is that okay?"
