Turns out Rio is not the new AHS Vocaloid design but they do have another coming out~ Public showing will be sometime in September, and the sales starting in October.(Quoted from Dear at VO)

Even though her voice does not match her looks, I adore Iroha. The deeper-sounding VOCALOIDs have always been my favourite, and the only company still disappointing me is Internet Co. with their stupid dinosaur 'loid.
I'm also glad for an October release, also. Her release is something I shall wait for excitedly, as long as they don't pitch up her lovely voice. It's how they've ruined some of the other nice VOCALOIDs for me, like MEIKO, Luka, LILY, LOLA and GUMI.

IMHO high-pitch voices aren't entirely bad, so long as they suit the song they're singing. I.E. Yuyoyuppe's Luka, Machigerita's Lily, ROY's Gakupo, wowaka... stuff like that.
Also it's up to the producers, not the companies, to pitch a voice up or down. (Uh... can you be more specific about the "they" you're talking about? >.<)
So far I like Iroha, her phonemes sound smooth, but overall the transition from one note to the next is... abrupt. At least in the demo I heard. It sounded like they just slapped some notes in there and left it like that. o.oa As usual, I'll wait for producers I know and like to use her voice before I judge how good her voice is.

By "they", I mean the producers who make the deep-voiced VOCALOIDs sound like kids who swallowed too much helium. There's a lot who do it with Luka on Nico, so I don't know how many to type.
And we just wait on her release. The note transition is maybe just the way the cover of the songs are supposed to sound. At least, I know one was a cover of an anime opening or something.
But Yuyoyuppe, Utsu-P, Machige, ROY, and sometimes wowaka are fine with high voices.

Ah, I see what you mean. I'm also tired of hearing the same old Luka on helium. :I
This was the demo I heard from her. You can really hear the... "roboticness"? when she goes from a low note to a higher note. I'm hoping that has something to do with note transition, and isn't a part of her voice >.<

I think it's just how the demo was done, really. XD But that little effect is really nice for that demo. EDIT; Wait. I think it could be a little thing about her voice...Just maybe.
