Funimation is okay sometimes but not always. They often clean up the anime they are dubbing...in language and content. Why is it okay to view and hear certain things in japan but not here? It cant be because we are moraly better in america...when Japan they dont care and yet...look how stable they are. It boggles the mind.

LIke I said, I'm biased. They dub my favorite anime, One PIece. xd

And yeah, that's always bothered me. Japanese shows of this type never shield they're audience from everyday facts of life, such as death and blood, (Not sayin' its everyday, but you get what I mean.) and their culture is stable, why can't America be so?

Damn corporate heads and lazy parents. mad

More like whiny parents. Yeah cause you got some parents that go nuts if their child, who might i add is exposed to far worse in public schools these days, sees an animated body parts. Seriously its getting annoying. These parents are more worried about what the see in a cartoon that what they see in real life. Granted some shows are not for kids...Witchblade for one, but still good show. But just because of that they go loopy and call the freakin FCC *suddenly hears that song from family guy*

That what I was trying to get at, thank you.

When I said lazy, I was referring to PGE (wwe).

Ah i see..well you have to admit my point has merrit. there were many anime with ummm...interesting scenes (hot spring episodes and such), and those get cut out in america and not aired on tv but still get them for the dvd releases, outlaw star being a prime example. It just doesnt seem right since japan realy only sensores things like actualy acts if you know what i mean. And they dont care about violence...i mean look at some of the live action shows...kamen rider and super sentai granted have morals but are full of fighting.

Its gotten to the point were we are the complete opposite of how america was back in the 80's. You know...free love and such. Now america is becomeing prude nation and trying to hide the things that happen in rl. Its sad in my book.

Now enough of that am i right?

Every point you and the other people have made thus far have merit to them.

And yeah, enough. At least until someone new posts. 3nodding

Hey guys, I don't know if anyone paid any attention to Power Morphicon (or attended), here is a link to a HenshinJustice.com article about the Kamen Rider Dragon Knight Panel at the con.

The reason I find this interesting is because Steve Wang (producer for the Kamen Rider Dragon Knight here in the USA) answers a fan's question about which Kamen Rider series he would love to bring over from Japan next. He drops the names Kabuto and Faiz.

http://henshinjustice.com/2010/08/31/dragon-knight-panel-the-morphicon/

To me, these are two great series to bring over. I have watched both series (just finished Faiz along with the movie) and I think if he could get the rights to BOTH series, god would that be a great thing for the American fans to go nuts over.

***And for all the fan who watch the video, both Dragon Knight and Wing Knight get asked to do their pose and say "Henshin!" It's amazing and made me cheer.***

You do realize that this has nothing to do with the conversation here?

The following rants/coments were paid for by veiwers like you. Thank you.

I myself loved ALMOST every season of the Power Rangers
(and yes i did watch every season)
I hated Wild Force simply because of the actors. The red ranger was a little too into it while the others were just not enjoyable to me whatsoever. They lack is so many areas.

Time Force is my all time favorite series of PR. (with Lost Galaxy coming in second) The plot, the actors, the climax. Loved it!

Loved the OG Mighty Morphin!

The Boukengers are my flat favs!
(will edit randomly)

In the case of Super Sentai and Kamen Rider, I honestly don't mind Adaptations of those series, so long as it's done properly.

If I'm not mistaken KRDK did, commercially better than Ryuki did, and that's because of a plot that, IMO made better sense than a all out Rider Battle Royale, though Decade did really well with the idea of a Rider War.

When it comes to Super Sentai, only if there's a dedicated production team and good actors. I mean before Disney got their hands on the licence for PR it was great, not knocking Disney productions like Mystic Force or SPD, but sometimes it seemed like Disney was being lazy, and then some series' were just...ugh, no. *points to Jungle Fury*

As far as anime goes, I'm mixed towards this ever since Gundam 00, which I loved/love dearly in it's native tongue with subs, but when it came to America? Oh @($&!@# Naw. I mean I'd love to see new animes come and take the thunder out of the sails of shows like Naruto, but at the same time I want my anime to be done right, and not screwed over by companies out for money only.

Mr Jes
Just noticed that in the poll at least two people said that the original is always better, no matter what.

What I want to know is why. confused

Probably due to the original intention of the characters. Somethings just don't make sense--plot holes in the American version. IE Zeo. Never quiet got the Egyption theme until I watched the beginning of Ohranger. Still a far fetched concept, but the idea solidified better in my mind then when it was explained in the US.

Little details.

True and I'm not arguing against that. I just find saying the original is always better (no matter what) is arrogant and close minded. Like those typical anime fans that say "the dub suzks lolz teh jap is so much better." When there's other fans out there (including those who actually speak and understand Japanese) that say either the dub is better or at the very least has its strong points. In the Japanese dub of Kamen Rider Dragon Knight the scene where Danny's/KR Axe brother/KR Thrust is vented Danny was crying where in the original he wasn't saying anything. Or the Funimation dub of One Piece being on parr with the original.

All I'm saying is that each should be judged individually, then and only then, compared. I'm no exception however. As I've now become an otaku of Tokusatsu I've found that I can no longer watch Power Rangers any more because now that I've watched the original I've noticed to many things have been changed and often very poorly at that. I still try to give it time, but find I just can't except the show and completely ignore it in favor of the originals from Japan.
