we march them but i can give you one excellent reason that trumps the others:

TROMBONE ARTILLERY!!!!
*flaming Trombone slide comes flying out of nowhere, impales me then explodes sending bloody chunks of my flesh flying*

I march with a trombone just fine.
And if you have the right horn angle, then impaling someone shouldn't be a problem, riight? :3

Our band director deciced not to march trombones this year.
He said, "it doesn't look uniform."
