A friend i had in Okinawa went to the market once and brought a package of paperthin squares of seaweed. I was reluctant to try it at first but i ended up liking it and ate the whole package(i think there were 30 squares.)

Mm, dried seaweed is one of my favorite Japanese snacks. I don't know what goes into it - lots of salt perhaps, but it sure is tasty! I also am a huge fan of manjuu (glutinous rice balls stuffed with bean paste) and dango (rice balls with different kinds of sauces on there), although I think the dango with the sweet/salty sauce is nasty. I also enjoy Japanese rice crackers, although those tend to leave a nasty aftertaste... And shame for shying away from dried fish and cuttlefish! That's good stuff - I was practically raised on it.
Of course, if we go the more Americanized route, I enjoy Pocky of any flavor. :3

Yep. Ramune. I've never had any because it looks like too much trouble to open. I've seen some of my friends have disasterous experiences with getting those things open. And then I laughed at them. xd

My favorite pocky is strawberry! Mmm... I don't know what they were called. But my best friend had these white tootsie roll things with rabbits on them from Japan. They were SO good. : D

I love every kind of pocky. And I love Japanese chocolate! Especially the meiji brand.
Mochi ice cream is teh luff, though I'm not fond of the green tea kind. I like green tea everything else, so I could get used to it. xd
Rice balls are treats for me, also bean past buns and taiyaki in general... My mom went crazy and bought like ten huge taiyaki. There were so many of them that I ended up eating them for lunch so they wouldn't go bad. gonk
I also had these little round chocolates I bought in a hotel in Oosaka... I don't remember what they were called, but they lasted me my entire 9-day stay. Then there were also these little multi-pointed star-shaped sugar things with some sort of nut inside. The sample the clerk in Tokyo gave me had nothing inside it and I preferred that to the nut-filled kind.
There were also... candies shaped like... redface boobs! eek I did not buy them, but I had to forcefully drag my guy friends away from them. sweatdrop

Namie_226 I haven't tried much but I absolutelt love Pocky and some kind of rice paper candy? Any ideas? I have lots of opportunity now though, since we have Saraga store close to my house! heart I swear its become my absolute favorite store. I was gonna try a green grass jelly pop but after some research on the net decided against it. (Really funny stuff though on the net.) Durian is an interesting fruit too. Lets see... I got a sake set which I love and any idea where to find sake? I think the rice paper candy is called Botan. I like that too along with Pocky. My sister found these little candy star things that are like pure sugar. We bought them because they reminded us of the little stars that the Sootballs got in Spirited Away. I haven't actually tried one yet...o.O We found this cake stuff that was called Oh Yes! and we thought the name was so funny that we bought a box. It's a bit dry, but it's basically cake.

It looks just like a normal Chocolate Pocky, but the biscuit itself is sort of sweet. Which brings up the question, is Pepero considered Pocky or is it just Pepero?
