"That's cool. So how long have you been at Camp?" She asked. SHe hadn't been there for long and was always seeing new faces. Emily wasn't shy about talking to people.

Erik thought for a second and replied: "About a month. I'm fairly new here. I'm still getting used to the thought of being a half-blood..."

Emily nodded. "Same here. It is so weird thinking that our parents are Gods and Goddesses right?" She sighed and shook her head.

Erik nodded, still leaning against the piano. "It's indeed a very odd thought. I suppose i'll get used to it soon enough, though."

"I agree. It's a little odd though. I'm the daughter of the Goddess of love, yet when I think I have found someone they are always to busy to care." She smiled sadly. "At least you fit your parent."

Erik chuckled and considered her statement. "I don't think they are ever too busy to care. They may try and show that they are, but really, they are only trying to hide their true emotions. I fit right alongside my dad as far as music is concerned, but to tell you the truth:" Erik lowered his voice to a whisper. "My dad is kind of a nutcase."

"Well your Dad may be a nutcase but I don't think you are." She said smiling at him. "And thanks, that really put that into perspective for me. She brushed her hair form her face gently, and her eyes twinkled.

Erik stood up from leaning against the piano and turned away from Emily, blushing slightly from the compliment. "You're welcome." He said, smiling even though Emily couldn't see it. She was attractive, but there's no way he could ask her to the dance. He'd have to actually dance, that required touching, and Erik wasn't keen on that at all. He turned to face the piano, and began tracing a pattern in the thin layer of dust that lay there.

Emily smiled at him, it was a smile that reached her eyes. "So are you going to the dance?" She asked, just as a curious question. She wanted to go with Lucas but he was always so busy so she knew she wouldn't be going with him. Erik was not a bad looking kid. He was a kid of Apollo, so it made sense. She sighed thinking about Lucas again.

Erik scribbled out his picture in the dust, a bit startled at Emily's question. "I would go, but I don't have a date."

Erik thought for a second. So she didn't have a date, either? Maybe they could go together. "Would you want go with me?" He asked hesitantly.

Erik was pleasantly surprised at her response. He could tell she had a crush on someone else who hadn't asked her. He was sympathetic to this fact, but also couldn't help being a bit excited for himself. "I'll meet you there." He said smiling. He exited the ballroom and proceeded to his cabin to get ready.
