Amerald nodded. It seemed as though Sera and Lorena had made a decision. The diamond. "Well, you see, the powers I speak of will definitely help keep Lorena protected. She can use them to protect herself and you from invasion. The diamond gives her the powers of light, or so my research suggests. It's a scary thought that she would be taken from you so suddenly. Wouldn't that be terrible? Her existence in this world needs to be a secret. If word gets out that she is a creation of this, she and you will be killed. I don't mean to scare either of you, but it's a fact. I'm quite afraid of the new rules upon Levintol that otherworldly creatures will be executed if they are found. Thus, all of my experiments are created and must be kept in confidence. Understood?" he stated, as if giving a command rather than allowing her to make the decisions. He was giving them the facts, not sugar coating anything. Did she really still want this daughter after learning of the high risk she would be taking in caring for her?
He sat back, taking the basket after the gems were placed back, allowing the woman to keep the diamond she had picked up. It was time to get this under way if they were going to go through the process, they had better do it soon.

Though Lorena sat staring wide eyed at her 'parents', Sera looked more like a wild beast protecting its young. How easily a woman could fall into the roll of mother if she was given the chance to raise her own. This was her DNA. Well, her's and a birds or something like that. Still, what Amerald had said would not be on death's ears.
"Then tell me why you dare become their father when you know that you could face a fate worse than death?" Sera stayed out of politics as best as she could but that didn't meant she didn't know the law. Of course she and Lorena would be killed but what about him? They wouldn't kill someone so intelligent. Bets said they would use him and hold his daughters over his head. No, if anything, she could never speak of him to anyone. That much was clear.
"Daddy..." Lorena's voice cut them both off as she stood up, leaning on the couch next to the man's leg. "What would I have to protect Mommy from?"
That was when Sera turned fully towards Amerald. "Your call." She mouthed saying that she was not explaining this one to the child.
Holding the diamond still in her hand, Sera's eyes moved down towards it. Twisting the stone over in her hands, she reached out and handed it back to the scientist. What he meant to do with it was beyond her but she knew holding it wasn't going to do anything.

Amerald nodded. "I have done this for science as well as for myself. I have compiled the answers into volumes of notes which I use every day to add upon and research with. My fate, if found out, would probably cost me my life yes, or I could be taken into captivity and tortured the rest of my life. It would be up to the royals to decide my fate. But I have done what I have done and I can't take any of that back." he stated, nodding.
He then rolled his eyes at Sera as she mouthed to him. "Lorena...you would just have to make sure the two of you are safe at all times. It's pretty much just a big precaution that I like to take because well...just in case you were found out by someone like a guard, you could definitely use the power to get away and protect yourself from guards." he said, smiling. "Again, I don't really think you'll need to be worried about any of this. You'll both be fine..." he stated. A false reassurance that he couldn't promise. He couldn't explain such things to his creation, not yet. Amelia and Annabelle had known the consequences of being seen ever since they were in their 'teen' years. Lorena was definitely one that needed to stay naive a bit longer. He didn't feel that she could fully grasp the concept quite yet without becoming terribly scared.

At least the man knew he was playing with fire. Nothing side I live for the moment besides trying to piss off those in power. The realization made Sera smile. He really was more than just a brain stuck on some random body. For once, Sera felt a bit more comfort as she adjusted to this. Knowing that even the creator still worried meant that he wasn't completely playing God.
"Oh! So a guard is a bad person. So I shall stay away." The smile on Lorena's face was so pure and beautiful that Sera literally had to bite her tongue to not counter that statement.
"So, tell me, 'daddy'" Sera smirked as she looked at Amerald. "What else is there to know? I will take your warning seriously but do I need to teach her to fly or will it be like a normal child?"
Lorena looked from Sera to Amerald. "Is he your daddy too? What is flying?"
Sera just sighed with a smile as her fingers went through her hair. "Lorena, I was joking. In no way is your father mine. You will most likely never meet your grandfather, my father. And flight, well, it will be easier to show you later. Now, I think we need to go home and leave Daddy to his work. "

Amerald smiled. "Yes, I wouldn't say guards are bad people, but it would be a grand idea to stay away from them if they ever are near, alright?" he stated smiling. He was now enthused with Sera's happiness and willingness, even if the two would never see eye to eye, he knew she was at least going to be a very good mother, or so it seemed.
"Your mother is right. I do have to work, but take that crystal with you, and if you decide to have it infused, let me know as soon as possible. Otherwise we can do it here and now if you've made the decision." he stated.
He then made his way to the kitchen for a glass of water. Was it the time to allow them to take their leave? Amerald guessed that maybe Sera had something to do and was somewhat in a rush. He was quite unsure, but either way he would definitely allow her to do whatever she saw fit.

Infused?
Looking down at the diamond in her hand, Sera made up her mind. There would be no reason for her to come back here if she could avoid it. Even if Lorena saw Amerald as her father, many children grew up with only a single parent. She would be alright. Right?
"Mr. Lanaan, before we go, why don't we just go ahead with it?" Holding up the stone, she glanced over at the child who was staring up at her father. "Let the process be over so her new life can begin as soon as we leave. So, what do I have to do?"

Amerald smiled as he walked over and snatched the diamond right up from the woman. "Alright, I shall get to work. Please come with me." he said, motioning towards the little girl and her mother. He then began to walk toward the hallway that led down into the basement.
He went downstairs, finally ending at the table. "Lets get you up there." he said as he slowly began to whittle away at the diamond crystal, making it smaller and easier for the infusion. Of course it would hurt, but every hraapea took the pain differently. He knew that from experience. Maybe this one would be different? He sure hoped so. There was nothing like watching one of his creations going through such a traumatic and hurtful time. He hated it.
As he pounded away at the crystal, making it smaller, he looked up at his newest creation and her mother. "Well, this may hurt, but I'm hoping that you'll be fine. Drink this." he said, handing the little girl a drink. It would taste funny, but it would definitely numb the pain to an extent that she wouldn't be able to feel it nearly as bad as if he hadn't given her anything.
He then began to sterilize the scalpel in order to ready it for the procedure. It only took a few moments before he was ready to get started. "Are you ready?" he said smiling, looking into Lorena's eyes. He then said, "Maybe it'd be best if you closed your eyes sweetie. Or look away. You won't hardly feel a thing..." 'I hope' he stated, then thought to himself. He was really looking forward to how this girl took the crystal.
He then began to work, he slowly sliced into the girls hand and slowly but surely began to pick up the little pieces and place them under the skin.
The procedure was long and hard, but after about forty-five minutes or so, he was done. Now it was just time to see how the girl reacted. Would she be fine and maybe even be able to heal herself? Or would she need observation overnight? Most of these answers came to him within the first fifteen minutes of operating.
[[ Sorry I kind of just went with it. You can do whatever you want from here. :3 ]]

The basement? Why did this suddenly have a very strange feeling of something dark and foreboding? It was something Sera was pushing out her head as she walked behind Lorena. The small girl looked so happy trailing behind her father that Sera wasn't sure she would do well with a single mother. Have to try...
When they entered the room, Lorena was looking around taking in all she saw. So many strange things that she didn't know where to start. Yet a single hand on her shoulder from her mother said to keep her mouth shut. Already they could communicate without words. That said something about a true connection with a mother and child. Still, even her amazement was starting to shake as she watched the crystal form into smaller pieces. "Mommy..." She whispered stepping closer towards Sera.
"Lorena, Daddy won't hurt you. He loves you..." Her eyes were soft on the red head but became as fierce as her daughter's hair when she looked up at Amerald. "He would never cause you harm..."
The next forty-five minutes had two things happen: Sera had managed to dig her nails into her hand to stop from killing Amerald and Lorena had passed out. The later was for the best because as the man finished it, Sera could just hold onto the human side of her nature.
A moment passed when nothing happened and then...
A pure white light began to slowly form around the hand the diamond had been placed in. Pulsing slowly at first then stronger, the light began to spread over Lorena's form until her entire being was covered in the glowing white.
Then nothing.
All that was left was Lorena laying on the table, bright green eyes looking over at her parents. "Daddy...that hurt!"
