Well.....this is an interesting event, all right. I give up, but it was interesting while it lasted.

I gave up on Oregon Trails, I'm giving up on this. It is not worth the hours of game time just to watch your last person die 10 miles to the end.

Sorry Gaia, but I think you missed the mark on this one. Can I trade in my stickers and be done with it already? neutral

That's what the guides people have posted on the Frontier Skies discussion forum are for. confused

Oh yeah, basing Frontier Skies on a classic that just about everyone has nostalgia for was definitely a bad move. What were you thinking, Gaia?

That is using the user created guides. They can only do so much. Part of the game is strategic (when to hunt, how much food to bring, how fast, etc.) but a large part is also luck. You can follow the guide all you want, but if you get a constant string of negative events that take your food and ammo, it does you little good.

So some people are nostalgic over it. That doesn't mean I am going to like it any better. There are some people who didn't like the original game the first time around. Oh and Nice use of italics (seriously, it is hard to convey tone when you are typing it out, but the italics are on the right words and convey it very well).

I'm glad you are enjoying the event, but don't expect everyone to go spazztastic over it just because it is based on one of the first real computer games ever made.

I don't. I do, however, find your implications that Gaia made a bad move because this event doesn't please each and every user disturbing.

Ah, now that is where I think the break down happened. I was not saying I think it was a bad move because it didn't please me. I apologize if that is how it turned out, it was not my intention.

I think the event is unbalanced (far to many negative events within the game then positive). It still has a few bugs, though that is to be expect. Every game or event has a few hiccups at the start that are not detected on a test run.

It is boring is comparison to past events. Several past events had you working with teams or other players for a common goal. Watching the ship fly by is like playing solitaire.

These are my opinions. I personally think they missed the mark by making it a solitary game with no interaction with other players. It has nothing to do with not pleasing each and every user. It is not possible to do that. Every event has a group of people who like it and a group of people who don't. I have enjoyed almost every past event. This one, though, I don't for some of the above reasons.

I used to love playing Oregon Trails when it came out but I honestly got bored of waiting on the people to get to their destination and stopped. I guess I'm too used to the newer fast paced games so I'm not really into this new game. I hope that they keep it around after the event so I can try it out when I have alot of time on my hands.

I remember Oregon trail. Don't remember there being insta-kill events, though, which is the only reason I lost 3 of my 4 crew this time.
My advice: take the shortcuts, just make sure you're on max food or close to it beforehand.

I remember oregon trail. I sucked at that, and I suck at this. But it was fun while it lasted. I'm not good at strategy. And is there even a prize for winning?

How about I almost won with Deidrich? Got attacked by vampires 10 miles from the end.

I can't beat this event... tried 6 times.

I beat Deidrich's route.

But I don't really have time to do the others.

It's a pretty fun game though. I'm a strategist type individual, so these kind of games fascinate me. Other than that, if you guys really think it's that hard, then try to think about things more strategically. I could give you some hints myself, but I wouldn't count on some of my own hints, being that most of them are speculations and observations, and that I haven't tried them out myself.
