"What's it like, having a big family," Mercury asked. The closest thing he had was the vain Runaiu, who played games with him and looked after him for a bit when he was a kit. She was easy enough to get along with once you got to know her.

"ah well nice I suppose. I've only met my dad, grandpa and one of my little brothers. So its not as fun as it could be... but they where all nice." Amaidi thought out loud concentrating a bit of her tongue poking through.

"At least they were nice," Mercury said, matter-of-fact. He didn't have any personal experience with mean parents, but Runaiu had told him a tiny bit about it. Didn't sound like fun at all.
"Would you like to play a game with me, or take a walk?" Mercury still wasn't sure about how to play more than one or two games, but Amaidi seemed like she had a good idea of how to have fun.

"I would love to take a walk. The area around here is really really pretty." Amaidi pointed out. 'although games are fun too' she thought. "ah here I am talking about family when you only have your parents. I know I'll be part of your family and then later on you can be a really good family to your children...."

Mercury chuckled, rising from the ground and stretching. He trotted forward a few steps, looking over his shoulder to see if Amaidi was following.
"I don't think I'll have kits for some time. I still have to find a mate." His grin was half amused and half contemplating.
Mercury's gold eyes sough Amaidi's blue-gray ones. "What about you? You planning on having kits in the near future?"

Amaidi got up and rolled over as well and began following them. "ah well I haven't really thought about kids but it would be nice to have them. Grandfather would probably have a heart attack. After all he is still in a weird denial daze that he's too young to be a grandfather." she chuckled. "but yeah it would be nice to have them. They are just so small and cute and fluffy. Oh and be careful. you dont exactly have to have a mate to have children. Mom and Dad drank some weird water and ended up with me. They arent mated at all."

Mercury looked over at Amaidi, a little startled. He'd never heard of that before! "What kind of water would cause foxes to reproduce without having to mate?" It was more of a rhetorical question, he didn't expect Amaidi to have the answer. He didn't think anyone would.

"ah well they have to do the normal um stuff but the water apparently puts you in this really funky haze and you wake up the next morning with a headache and no memory of the previous night until a few weeks later. I guess its kind of like that funny smelling water the humans like drinking. I think, I've never gone through it just dad." she tried explaining although it caused a frown to appear on her face.

Mercury tilted his head, like a curious sparrow. "It sounds a bit like eating old meat, or mistaking an eating mushroom for one that's best left alone." He'd done that before; apparently lost almost two days. Put him off mushrooms for quite some time.

"yeah I guess its a bit like that. What ever it was it resulted in me and some of my friends so I cant hate it all that much" Amaidi pointed out. She let out a small smile. Mercury looked cute with the curious expression on her face.

Mercury chuckled. "I can't hate it either. Wouldn't have got to meet you if your parents never drank the funny water."
They moved a little deeper into the forest, chinks of sunlight spilling through the occasional patch in the leafy canopy. Mercury looked up above them as a spot of light lit up and warmed him back. "I used to love meadows as a kid, but I think I like forests more now. They're so...-" Whatever they were was apparently not a word he possessed in his vocabulary.
Mercury ducked his head, blushing slightly. "Well, they're something. What about you, what kind of land do you like?"

Amaidi blushed a little at his comment and followed him into the woods. She smiled at the sun light streaming through the gaps in the trees. Suddenly she was brought out of her gazing by his question. Amaidi thought about her favorite scenery for a while because it was safer and less blush inducing. "Yes forests are quite ethereal at times arent they. Scenery I like? Well I like the moors near the sea when night time rolls around and there is a light cool sea mist spreading across the ground." Amaidi finally decided.

Mercury tried to paint the picture in his head. "I've never seen the ocean before. I've watched mist rolling off lakes here in the forests though, that's always been really beautiful." He smiled. "I'm sure it's just as lovely with oceans."

"oh really, the place I was talking about is just around here. I know its not night time, but there is still a sort of fog lying around the moors. Foxes talk about magical things happening there all the time. Of course I have yet to really have something happen to me." Amaidi said really fast and getting rather excited.

Mercury cocked his head to the side in it's sparrow position again. "Would you like to go see either of them then? It sounds like it would be interesting, even if nothing magical happened."
