Chiv made a tisking sound when the pup revealed just why she had been out wandering so far in the first place..something quite unusual for her typically shy nature. Pup's would be pups however and such inner competition was typical - especially with so many around. She licked little Ari between the ears but let Galahad do the actual soothing, the pup seemed to have a touch of hero worship for the male at the moment and surely his words would do more to settle her then anything she could say for now.
"Tantalus is my grandson, we've..had allot of pups about these parts lately" She stated with a small chuckle, she personally loved having them all around...and waited fondly for the day when her daughter and Verse chose to start their own family, something that everyone in the pack except them seemed to know would happen sooner or later. She didn't hold much hope for Raiden or Tempest sadly...and herself well, they had spoke of it sure but Mene was hardly reliable lately.

He said it wasn't his fault, but she certainly thought so! It was only because she had such a fragile ego that she had fled to patch it up in the first place. The alpha's affections at least quelled Arianna's crying, though she continued to sniffle afterwards and feel shameful. There Mister Galahad sat after being mauled by a bear with not a single tear in his eye, and here she was crying while being licked on the head!
Worse was when she scented Momma coming.
Within the minute Merrill returned with small chunks of willow bark - of which she only knew how to find due to previous minor infections; herbal lore was not her strong suit and never would be. A plant was a plant, be it a leaf or a petal or a stem or bark; she didn't understand how a wolf intuitively knew what parts to use and just went with it. Resting the bark by Galahad, she stepped back and flashed a brow quirk down at her daughter, who winced and whined but was rooted to the spot. "Is Arianna bothering you two? A recovering wolf shouldn't have their attention divided."
Mind, Merrill was very sure the only reason Arii was there was to stay by her savior's side, but really: would Merrill be Merrill if she continually gave leniency to even her own children? Inwardly, though, she longed to cling to her daughter in the comfort of her own den and both chide her and praise the spirits that she was home safe.
It was the bears, she thought. Those god forsaken bears.

Galahad wasn't entirely sure what else to say to Arii, his experience with puppies was pretty limited and the last thing he wanted was to upset her even more by saying the wrong thing. Best to leave the nurturing part to the females with experience. "A lot of pups require a lot of eyes to watch them, must be quite a lot." He replied with a soft laugh, though it hurt slightly to do so. Just how many pups were running around this place he wondered. Well no matter, he could find out when he was feeling a bit less beat up. Eyes looked up to see Merrill again as she brought in the bark and set it down beside him. Well what was he supposed to do with that? He looked at the bark and then at Chiv quizzically.
"She isn't bothering us. Just explaining what happened." Galahad told the purple female. He head was feeling a bit clearer now, the details of exactly what he had seen and done were resurfacing. If they asked he would tell them, but he could see by the way Chiv was looking over his injuries that the main concern right now was to get them looked after to prevent any infection - the details could come later.

"Ari is fine" She assured Merrill "She's helping me minister to Mr. Galahad here, keeping his attention off his hurt's" She stated looking at Ari Solemnly "It's very important, and she's doing an excellent job" She gave the pup a small nod, poor little Ari didn't always feel useful she thought and maybe helping out now and again would boost her confidence some. It was something to remember and work on anyways.
Noting the confusion on the males face when he received the bark Chiv chuckled a bit. "You chew it" She told him with a laugh "Don't swallow, it'll give you a nasty stomach ache, but chew the bark - its got an arid taste I'm afraid but the juices created from chewing it will help with the pain. Once thats dulled some we can get you to the river to clean up"

She . . . she was helping? Arii sniffled some more, giving Chivosi an odd look.
Merrill wasn't sure if the statement was true, but nodded all the same. It wasn't exactly the way a wolf probably would be ministering, she figured, but there was little point in arguing. Arianna looked on the verge of tears again, and it set off her mother's alarm - and some of her annoyance, believe it or not. The child was always ready to cry about something, even if it wasn't endangering her life! "Well I believe she's helped enough and needs to recover on her own, if you don't mind," Merrill stated after clearing her throat while giving her daughter a knowing look. "Bears are a little more than traumatizing on a pup. Come along now, Arianna."
"Y-Yes, Mama." Blinking back a few more tears, she looked to Galahad a final time. "Get b-better soon, M-Mister Galahad," Arii stuttered with genuine well-wishing, and then caught up to her mother. The two bowed their heads to Chivosi before leaving the den. Though not everything was heard, Merrill was obviously leaning towards the little one and speaking with her as they walked; Arianna's tail drooped further between her legs as they disappeared.

Chew it huh? Well clearly Chiv knew what she was talking about so he scooped up the bark into his mouth and began doing as instructed, chewing it. While it felt somewhat odd to be chewing on bark Galahad kept reminding himself that this was to help him heal, it would cut down on the pain he was feeling. Eyes moved to Merrill and Arii as the beta excused herself and her daughter. "Take care Arri." He said to the pup and gave her a smile, before returning to the task of chewing the bark.
After chewing on the bark for a few minutes Galahad glanced over at Chiv, he was getting mighty tired and wasn't sure if he could make it to the river without taking a nice long nap first. Laying his head on his paws, he ignored the strain it put on his wounds, and let out a slight yawn. "I think some sleep is in order before we get me cleaned up." He stated, figuring that Chiv would agree as trying to get him there while half asleep could be challenging and dangerous.

While she was eagar to get his wounds cleaned and looked at properly one look at the big male and she could see he had a point. There was no way the poor creature had enough energy to make it to the river and back right now.
"rest" she told him with a slight nod of her head "I shall send someone to care up a meal while you do" She promised before slipping from the den in search of someone to send hunting, a good meal would do the male a world of good when he awoke.
